Chapter 75 Having a Hard Time with Eggs
As soon as the boss spoke, nobody dared to speak any more.
Maria's face changed. 'Well, Bane's not feeling well, so don't force him to drink.'
The party suddenly turned sour.
Bane knew that no matter how hard she tried, she could never please everyone, and that there would always be people who were prejudiced against her.
"I'm not feeling well, so I'll leave. You can continue to play."
Because of what Ward had just said, Bane wanted to leave, and no one stopped him.
Bane got up and was about to leave when Ward got up and said, "I'll take you back."
Bane was about to refuse when Maria called out, "Ward, how can you drive when you've been drinking?"
Bane also agreed: "Well, I can take a taxi back, anyway is not far, no trouble, boss you and colleagues together to play."
Ward tried to run after him, but Maria held him firmly by the hand.
Maria managed a smile and lowered her voice. "Ward," she said, "you can't leave. Everyone is here. You've been working on this for years!"
Ward had intended to ignore Maria, but when everyone looked at him quizzical, he suppressed his impulse and resumed his seat.
As soon as Bane came out of the bar, he saw a black sports car parked by the side of the road.
There was another man, very familiar, leaning against the cart.
Bert had a cigarette in his mouth, but he did not light it. He leaned against the carriage door in a languid pose, a gesture that was riffraff, but which he imbued with nobility, and made the passers-by look his way.
Bane quickly pretended not to see him, trying to get around the great deity.
'If you don't come, Bane Reed, I'll break your leg!
Bane took an uneasy step forward.
'You want to die?
She gathered her pace back quickly and braced herself and turned away.
"I didn't see that..."
Bane wanted to quibble.
"Are you sure?
"... You're waiting for someone, aren't you?"
'Come up!
"I... Can I refuse?"
Bert's eyes fell upon her, and they pricked her like needles.
Bane reluctantly walked over.
Bert straightened himself up and got directly into the driver's seat. Bane had no choice but to sit down in the passenger seat.
Once seated, Bert simply put his foot on the gas and the car sped away.
The speed was frightening.
Bane grabbed the seat belt for dear life. "You, you mustn't go so fast!"
Bert ignored the words, his eyes filled with rage, the backs of his hands gripping the steering wheel turned white, and the air pressure inside the car dropped to its lowest level.
Bane felt as if her soul was going to die. The last half of the glass was now fermeting faster and she suddenly felt a slight sensation of drunkness.
He did not know what he was angry about. It was a strange emotion to him, he did not know why he could not control it, and it annoyed him.
Unbeknownst to all, when Bert saw that Ward and Bane were about to kiss, he wanted to just dump Ward.
Dealing with the Jonathan family is a bit of a hassle, but it's not that difficult.
How dare you touch his woman without paying a price?
He was about to increase the speed when a low SOB came to his ear.
Bert slowed down, and finally stopped by the side of the road to look at Bane.
The woman was sitting in the passenger seat, curled up, the seat belt held tightly to her, the smell of helplessness, a flicker of fear in her wet eyes, a tear in her pretty little face.
Her shellfish teeth tightly bite the lip, two red hanging on her face, appear more delicate and pitiful, there is a grievance in her eyes flashing.
Bert was charmed at one glance.
He had really scared Bane. It was so fast, so many times she was going over the fence. She didn't want to die.
She was paralysed again by the half glass of wine, and the serenity she had felt had been shattered by the intoxication, so that she could not hold back the tears.
She felt very aggrieved.
'What's the matter?
Bert's voice was too soft to be true, but he was not aware of it.
But his tone was too gentle, and Bane felt even more wronged.
She had done nothing wrong, and yet he came to frighten her.
"Bad man, you are bad!
"Huh? Change the word."
"Villains! Bastard! Bastard!"
"How? Like the word egg so much?"
Hearing this, Bane suddenly felt even more wronged and huddled tightly there without saying a word.
Bert, of course, thought she was amusing. A faint smell of wine came from Bane on the tip of his nose. Apparently he had just had a little. How dare you?
"Said Bert in a husky voice." Drunk?"
Bane pursed her mouth, did not speak, but suddenly failed to suppress a burp. She covered her mouth quickly, chagrin on her face.
Bert could not help laughing at her.
"Don't go to bars anymore. You don't belong in that kind of place."
"It's none of your business!" said Bane.
If before, she certainly dare not so direct throw out this sentence.
Bert's face changed in a moment, and his voice was threatening. "What did you say? !"
"And... It's none of your business!"
Bane looked very much like a child.
Bert laughed again, and said, "Why? You want Ward Jonathan in charge of you?"
When it came to Ward Jonathan, Bane felt as if she had been poked into a sore spot and the tears came straight to her eyes.
Bert was stunned.
Bane bit her lip and sobbed. Tears kept falling. Her hands kept rubbing but she couldn't do it.
After a while Bert, with a sullen face and gritted teeth, said, "Bane Reed, are you still thinking of him?"
Bane did not answer, but continued to cry.
He was full of anger, but when he saw Bane, it was suppressed.
For the first time Bert coaxed patiently, "Don't you cry. The man was not worthy. He didn't deserve your tears."
"You, you don't talk nonsense...
"He dumped you the first time six years ago, and even now he's going to dump you the second time."
That sounds too painful.
Bane sobbed harder, his eyes and nose turning red.
'Now, why are you crying?
"You're a villain! Just know to hate me!"
