Chapter 21 Alex saving the day
Struggling to keep calm, she took deep breaths while nodding. At this point, Nicholas looked enraged and dangerous. His eyes glinting sharply while his mouth quirking in a silent smirk. At that moment, when her ears could hear clearly, she heard her name being cackled. It was Alex, at that time, she did not care what Alex was doing at her place that early, she could only hope he could rescue her.
I'm. At this point, she felt tired and the only thing she wanted was rest. Nick had been in her house; she had recalled her miserable life. Her parents had abandoned her, at the orphanage. She had spent time waiting for them to come but they never came.
She was an unwanted baby. Her parents had left her, her fiancée had made a mess out of her life. Her life was so miserable. Would anyone really ever want her enough to stay long with her. All these thoughts culminated into a strong sense of attachment to her baby. It then broke out in the form of cries. At first, it had been just silent tears, making her lungs feel constricted and her nose blocked. Then she was praying silently in her mind that he would save her, she watched as he kicked down the door. In a flash, he was Infront of her and nick was off her. The next thing she remembered was seeing a battered nick being beaten. Blood oozing from his nose and mouth. “She said to get off her you dumb asshole. How could even deign to beat up a woman.” Alex roared angrily as kept peppering him with punches all over his face. His nose had to have been broken.
Nick had proven stubborn until the moment he had fainted. Moving quickly, grace tried calling Alex, but it was as if he had gone to another dimension. She shakes him until he had looked at her, his face hard set, eyes brimming with rage, nostrils flaring. That look even though she knew it was not directed at her made her shiver. “Please stop beating him up Alex, you will kill him.”
When Alex eventually stood up, his face had turned normal and he now engulfed her in a bear hug. The hug then turned into an inspection. “Where did he hurt you, tell me? Damn that asshole, I should have continued beating him up.” Her face was covered in bruises. Her ribs were a bit sore and the back of her head painful. She had not realized it at that moment but she had been crying. As Alex looked at her, she broke into one cry that rocked her entire being.
She felt scared and dirty and she could not explain anything at that moment. At that time, the only thing she wanted was to feel safe. As Alex soothed her, rubbing her back in circles, through her wet eyes she realized that he had a black eye. Her boss was right over there taking care of her and inside her heart, she just felt her heart thumping.
Rising her hand to him, she touched his black eye, while her vision drifted to his busted lip. Maybe the fight had not been as short-lived as she had imagined it to have been. As he picked up his phone the police, she had to stop hade the mistake to open her mouth to take a breath.
Cries toe from her in a voice that seemed strange even to her. Wailing, she mourned the childhood she never had, the parents she never had, and of course the failed relationship. Everything in her life at this point was a wreck. She had wanted to stop, but with every breath she took, tears just kept forming, and her breaths getting shorter and shorter. Her eyes blurred; her nose snorty. She had to take in air through her mouth. She cried and cried until she could not cry again. She felt tired and alone.
The next moment she was aware of herself, she was on her bed. Her room was clean and nick was nowhere to be seen, to which she assumed he had already left. Alex sat next to her in the bed in his dirtied shirt and slacks. His white shirt was darkened by sludges of mascara. Seeing her turn, he moved to face her as he held her hands. Hey, sunshine. I have drawn a bath for you, would you like to bath.
After her nod, Alex had carried her to the tub which was currently full of warm water, with rose flower wash producing bubbles. It was at this point that she realized that she was in her torn blouse. Looking at her, Alex helped her out of the torn blouse, then he removed her bra. After that he soaked them into the water, trying not to look at what he had yet to be given. Seating behind her, his chest solid support, he helped her remove the rest of the clothes.
As a baby, he helped wash her. From her hair all the way down. At that point, tears welled in her eyes yet she could not produce a voice. All of a sudden, she took a handful of her body wash and started scrubbing herself. Trying to stop her was a waste of time, as she scrubbed herself till her skin was red while crying silently. He tried hugging her to which she stiffened then relaxed and became docile in his hands.
He took her from the water and went on to dry her. Putting her in comfortable loose clothes he held her and pressed ice onto the major areas she had been hurt. With time she had relaxed against him, and let things be.
