Chapter 22

Cayne's POV

Cayne hot anxious when he saw Raszhiel's ex-boyfriend. When he introduces himself as her ex, he suddenly felt like he wanted to punch him, very hard. He hated his guts.

He hated the idea that kind of jerk cheated and hurt her in the past.

He had been unwilling to admit that he's in love with her. At first, he just wanted to get rid of Anica because he got annoyed by his mother's suggestion that he should date Anica. Having a girlfriend won't stop his mother from insisting on dating data so he planned to get a wife. That's when he asked one of his employee to find someone to pretend as his wife.

But didn't know that he would end up loving the girl. He realized that he's in love with her on Halloween party, when he thought Lincoln- the name venomously- had kidnapped her. His heart felt empty, cold when he thought she was out of his life forever.

And that's when he knew that, yeah, he did like her. So, the thought of her ex-boyfriend showing up out of nowhere, asking to speak to her alone made him feel something he hadn't feel in a very long time.

Jealousy.

They had only been together for not so long now, a month, maybe. But is the kind of man who rarely fall for a girl, and when he did fall, he fuckin collapsed.

And he just collapsed pretty damned hard for Raszhiel. And between keeping a close eyes on Anica and keeping that ass bag, Ethan, away from Raszhiel, Cayne was pretty sure he'd go prematurely gray.

He saw the way Ethan look at Raszhiel and he didn't fucking like it. He is more than willing to give him a black eye, a busted lip and a broken rib if he even so much as tried to touch a hair on Raszhiel's head.

"You look livid," said by a bored voice behind him.

Cayne turned and came face to face with his friend Nicholas. His expression was bored.

"Not livid at all," he lied cheerfully.

Nicholas looked like he didn't believe him, but shrugged.

"She hadn't made anymore moves, she tried to go and ask help for her father, but after a visit from Lincoln and Rechie he saw things our ways," Nicholas informed him.

Cayne nodded, his lips tightening when Lincoln's name was brought up.

"Good."

He called Lucas, and he walked in. Took one look at him and Nicholas and nodded.

"Is it time for Phase 2 already?"

"Yes it is. Call my father and tell him to alert the others."

"Right away." Lucas turned on his heel and turned away.

Cayne turned and look out the clear window and at Raszhiel. He promised her that he'd take care of everything and the mess that he caused. And that's what exactly he is doing right now.

He'd take care of Anica and next is her ex-boyfriend. And when he's done with them, they will live happily as he expected it to happened.

Raszhiel's POV

I looked at Ethan and was taken aback when he's looking at me also, intently. I felt awkward. But no one shoved our gazed away with each other. I felt nervous, but this nervousness isn't the same feeling that I used to feel way back then. This isn't the case of butterflies.

I felt so nervous because this is the first time that we will be able to talk, one-on-one, for a very long time after we broke up.

And we had been friends once, best of friends exactly, when we finally went into a relationship. And that's what sadden me the most when remembering our relationship. I used to like him a lot. And I really didn't thought that he would cheat on me.

How sad, I thought.

"So, how have you been?" He blurted out.

I blinked at him. I was caught off guard. I hadn't expected this though.

I sighed, shifting my gaze skyward and silently asking the Lord to give me strength because in that very moment I wanted to hit him, hard. I wanted to punch him in the mouth.

Not because he broke my heart that seemed to be an eternity ago, but because he is stupid.

"Is this what you wanted to talk? To ask if how have I've been? Well, if that's the case then I'm fine. Very much." My voice uncharacteristically harsh.

"Look, Kenny, I'm sorry. The girl that I used to cheat on you turns out that she didn't really love me." He said and took one step towards me. But then I suddenly took one step backwards.

He swallowed and looked at me.

"I'm so sorry Kenny. For what I did. But it's already in the past. I want you back."

I just stared at him. Was he kidding me? After mangaling my heart and left it in pieces, he wanted me back?

After cheating on me and dumping me an hour before our anniversary he had the nerve to come here, stand before me and say he wanted me back.

My next move was involuntary. I pulled my arm back, curling my hand into a tight fist and punch him. There was a meaty thwak!- sound and he groaned, clutching his jaw.

"No," I said simply. "You had your chance but you blew it away. I already love someone."

I was surprised to what I have said. Did I really meant to say I love Cayne already? Or is it just my ego?

I didn't have the chance to ponder over it because Ethan lifted himself up and he glared at me.

"You won't be able to keep him," he spat, blood flying out of his mouth. "Not even when you don't fucked."

I laughed in his face. I laughed at how pathetic he was. I laughed as I wondered what I have saw in him. I laughed as I realized how stupid I am for falling in love with a guy who had this kind of attitude.

"Goodbye, Ethan." I turned to walk away.

"No, we're not done talking yet." He shouted grabbing my hand with brute force.

"Ow," I cried out involuntarily, before struggling to get free. He smirked at me. I don't think I could ever forget how he looked in that very moment, wild, craze.

"Let me go, Ethan." When he realized that he is grabbing me very tight, she soflty get rid of his hand from mine.

"I'm sorry." He apologized.

"Fuck you! I don't need your sorry." I said harshly. I don't care if he'll hit me right at the moment, but I know he wouldn't.

"What do you want me to do for you to come back to me." He pleaded.

"No, you don't need to do anything, Ethan. Just leave, and never come back. And do not ever show your face in front of me, ever again." I said and walk away.

"I will win you back Kenny. I promised. I will never stop until you're mine again. Remember that."

I even heard him shout but did not even budge to stop. I just closed my eyes and continue to walk inside the mansion.
