Chapter 24

Four days had gone since Ethan visited me. And four days had gone since I heard Cayne said that he love me.

Cayne had gotten an expected business call and had to go to New York. Something about checking one of the club that he owns.

He begged me to go with him.

"It'll be boring to go without you, love," he said while pouting. "Please come with me."

He had dropped down on a knees, looking up at me pleadingly through his surprisingly long lashes.

I rolled my eyes and sigh in exasperation.

"Fine," I groaned.

"Yay!" He shouted childishly, standing up and wrapping his arms around me tightly.

And that's how I ended up in New York with him. Lucas had also come with us to drive the limousine he owns in New York.

We were on our way to a famous Plaza Hotel in New York.

"I'm glad you're here with me," Cayne said suddenly.

When I look at him in surprise, he smiled and continued.

"These trips are normally so boring, but with you here and finally now happy."

I knew he was talking more than just the business trip. I knew he meant that I'd somehow brought sunshine in his life. Was here really in love with me?

Before I could muster a reply, the limousine stop and Lucas said. "We're here."

Can look away and nodded. " Thank you Lucas."

Lucas got out of the car, came around in open my door. I hopped outside thanking him, like I always did. Cayne also slid out gracefully.

One of the workers- a man in suit who I assume was the manager- rush towards us and said. "Mr. Shelton and Mrs. Shelton, Welcome to New York. We're glad you've chosen the plaza. I'm Ronald. Your secretary just checked in." I got a little awkward when the man called me Mrs. Shelton. It was like a music to my ears.

But wait I realized something and then I stiffened. Anica is here?

I saw Cayne's lips tighten. If I hadn't known his face so well, I wouldn't even notice.

He just nodded stiffly and one of the hotel workers took our bags.

"You called yesterday and we have cleared our best room for you. The Edwardian suite has a king size bed, a large bathroom, and a separate living area what and a sofa and a butler service," Ronald explain as we walked inside.

The hotel was huge. It was beautiful and amazing. I stared around in awe.

Cayne clutch my hand firmly as we walk up to the front desk and said. The man walk the stand behind the front desk and said,"Since you're staying two nights, you'll be paying 4,000 dollars."

My jaw drop to what the man had said. I mean, I know Cayne is a billionaire, but $2,000 a night is a steep.

Cayne didn't even flinch of the price, he just pulled out his credit card and paid the man in the front desk. The manager type something on his computer and nodded, handling Cayne his credit card. He then handed the key to us.

"Enjoy your stay here in Plaza Hotel Mr and Mrs. Shelton." He flush a smile at me. "And don't forget to check out our restaurant and our bar."

Cayne just nodded, I just smile and told him thanks. Cayne took my hand and we headed to our room.

Anica POV

Anica paced around her room. She had the average Plaza Hotel suite which costs 850 dollars a night. Nothing compared to the Edwardian suite.

She look at her reflection in the mirror, smiling softly. He's gonna be hers tonight.

They were in New York thousands and thousands of kilometers away from that Raszhiel bitch.

Anica had to admit this business trip couldn't've come at a better time.

She knew that away from Raszhiel, his head would be clear. And he would realized a thing. Not being distracted by that bitch.

She look at her curves in her tight red dress, her long brunette hair trailed down her back. She gave herself one last smile before leaving her room.

She had a feeling that we will be sleeping in the Edwardian suite tonight.

She smiled wickedly and crazily as she thought of it.

Raszhiel's POV

"I honestly didn't know she was coming," Cayne said to me, pacing the room in front of me.

I was sitting on a king size bed, watching him. He looks like he is in so much stress. He is waiting, anxiously for Nicholas to call back.

"Don't worry, Raszhiel. She can't come anywhere near you," Cayne promised me.

He finally stopped pacing and sat down beside me, bringing my body close to his and hugged me tightly.

Honestly, I wasn't scared of Anica. Not at all. I wanted to try that bitch to try me so that I could have an excuse to rearrange her face.

But I knew Cayne is worried that she would try to hurt me.

The phone rang and Cayne quickly pick it up.

"Nicholas," he said. "Yes, she's here."

Nicholas said something on the other end. And whatever he just said made Cayne nod in agreement.

"I have a meeting tomorrow at 3;00." Cayne shot a look at me, his lips tighten and said, "Can you have him here by then?"

After a long silence, Cayne nodded.

"Good," He visibly relaxed.

He hung up and looked at me, his eyes tight.

"Lincoln will be here to keep you safe until I get back." He said the words so soflty, but his blue eyes were so cold as ice.

Wait? What? Lincoln?

"What do you mean Lincoln will keep me safe?" I asked in a bit of curiosity.

I mean, I knew Lincoln wouldn't hurt me because I got to know his other side during the Halloween party. But what if? Just what if, he took sides again with Anica.

"Don't worry. He won't hurt you just like what you are thinking right now." He reassured me.

"Why do you hate and trust Lincoln so much?" I finally asked. I couldn't ignore the way he seethed every time the others name is being mentioned.

Cayne's full lips turned down at the corners before he smiled mischievously.

"I'll tell you if you go out with me tonight." I rolled my eyes at him. Like he even had to ask.

"Of course," I said to him grinning.

"I'll explain my situation with Lincoln over dinner," he was smiling but it didn't reaches his eyes.

I sighed and pushed myself back off the bed. I walked over to my suitcase and began unzipping when Cayne suddenly spoke behind me.

"Uhm, I know this is kind of wrong but please accept this." He said handling out an envelope.

"What's this?" I responded as I held out.

When I opened it, my mouthed gaped. It was an envelope full of money. And I think it has thousands of dollars.

"Uhm yeah. That's....uh.your salary for the past few weeks which you pretended to be my wife." He scrub the back of his head.

I arched an eyebrow. Yeah I remember. For how many weeks, I haven't took the money his driver slash butler Lucas gave me which is supposedly be my salary.

"No I don't need that." I said giving him back the envelope full of money.

"No, it's yours okay."

"No," I said sternly.

I cannot accept that kinda big money.

"But....." I cutt him off when I stand up and kissed him on the lips.

"Hush now. I don't wanna accept that money. Yes that's mamy salary but I don't need that now. All I need is you." I smiled to him and he also smiled at me.

Then again, we kissed.
