Richard was still holding me. He knew me, he knew me too damn well. "Here... give me your keys, let me put your stuff inside. Let's go, I'll take you back to your place. You're in no condition to drive. I'll take a cab back. Come on."

I was too sad, too tired to argue with him. All these mixed feelings that I have towards James, being a sugar baby, my frustrations with my parents, Ashley and Nicole, and also Richard.

Why was he being nice to me? I thought we were done?

"Richard, why are you doing this? I thought we're done? Your mother wouldn't want you to be seen with me." I asked him once we arrived at my place. He shrugged and gave me my favorite white wine, while he helped himself with a cold beer from the fridge.

"I still care about you I guess, and Ashley can be such a bitch sometimes. Look I'm sorry okay." He moved closer to me and hugged me.

"Are you good Lor?" He cupped my face and kissed my temple.

"I am, I will be. Thanks for driving me back. I just needed to get away."

"Yeah, You sure? Okay...I'm going to head back now. See you tomorrow?" I nodded back at him as he kissed my cheek and said our goodbyes.

I was pondering my way through the day, I got nothing else to do. I tried to open my laptop and do research for my small business, but I couldn't think straight. I tried to read but kept on staring at the same page for the last hour.

Crap! What am I doing? This is a business deal. Get your head in the game, Lorraine! Keep your feelings inside. You don't want to get hurt.

I finally calmed myself down, and decide to give it one more month. After that, I would end it through Adriana. The money would just have to do. I would just have to sell the penthouse at a lower price, and also the car. I could make it through the year, I was confident with myself. What I was not confident about was between me and James. I was pretty sure, that I was falling for him already.

I knew in the end, he would have chosen a more elegant woman to be by his side. More reputable, more educated, more respected within society. After all, he was a well-known respectable businessman within his industry.

Phil was buzzing my door.

"Ms. I mean... Lori, there's a package for you." He greeted me and handed me the package. I thanked him, as he walks back to the elevator.

At that same time, my phone rings.

"Hey Lori, did you get my package? Change of plan for tonight. We're attending a function. One of the partners just canceled, and I have to attend on his behalf. It'll be a quick one, then we're going back to my place. Bring your things. You're staying at my place tonight."

"Okay." That was all I managed to say. I was trying to be cheerful but I couldn't.

Crap!

"Hey, Lori? Are you okay?"

"Yeah sorry, I'm good. Campus stuff that's all."

"Okay, I'll come earlier then. Need to cheer you up, and maybe help you get a dress for tonight. I should've texted you baby. Seemed that even your voice alone is making me hard right now. Fuck it. I'm finishing up. Then coming straight to you, see you soon."

I finally giggled, making him groaned and hang up on me.

Fuck it! One more month. I'm good. I can do this.

He arrived at my place, an hour later.

"Hey, baby. So, you want to talk first? or do you want me to cheer you up first?" He was all over me, once I open the door for him. He was kissing my neck, taking my hands putting them on his shoulders. Then taking my legs to his waist, picking me up, and backed me to the wall.

Then he made me turn and face the mirror, as he put the crusted diamond necklace on my neck. It looked heavy, it looked expensive but suited so well with my deep red strapless dress.

"This is too expensive James. I can't."

"You will baby. Or you're just gunning in for my discussion? You still remember where it led you to, right?" I finally blushed remembering that day. He put his lips on the back of my shoulder, his hand cupping my neck from behind. While his other hand traced just below my breasts. I was moaning in no time.
