"Alex, maybe we should go now." I was grasping his hand in no time. My heart was beating hard and fast. I was panicking for him, I need to keep him safe, I love him too fucking much for her to harm him again.

But she was already closing in, smiling deviously at us. I saw an older woman, she was walking quickly trying to catch up with her struts. While Alex's mom looked at us worried and started tugging her husband's hand frantically.

What the fuck is she trying to accomplish here?

"Liza, you should not be here. I had a restraining order against you. Go back to your mother." Alex was pulling me behind him, telling Nate to take care of me.

I was looking at Nathan. "Seriously Nate? It's the crazy bitch that you should take care of, not me. She stabbed him once, or did you not heard about that?" I was arguing with Nate when Liza pulled out a small handgun from her purse and aimed it at Alex.

Then I heard all the guests gasped and moved back, some run out of the room in haste, and some back down slowly while they were on their phone calling the cops looking our way as the event went down in front of their eyes.

His father moved fast, as he tried to shield him, but I couldn't let him took the bullet. Everything went crazy as she shouted to Alex about how he had embarrassed her, and he was shouting back telling his father to getaway.

Everything was like playing in slow motion as Nate was distracted with the shouting, and looking at his father and join in on the shouting. That was when I got away from him and pushed his dad to his brother. I never intended to get shot, I never wanted to take the bullet. But at that same moment, Liza pulled the trigger and ruined my dress. I was cursing at her as I saw my blood splattered to my new white evening dress.

Then I saw Chris, quickly took her gun, and restrained her. While Alex quickly got to my side and carried me to what looked like a home office. "Fucking hell Addie, why would you do that?" He was looking frantic at me, he shouted to his mom to get the first aid kit and call a doctor.

"Oh that crazy bitch, I just bought this dress. Oh, Alex! It's white, now my blood ruined it!" My tears fall down as I grieved for the dress. Alex was getting my arm wrapped tightly with a napkin that Nate gave him. His family surrounds me, they all looked worried.

"The fuck Alex! That hurt! Oh sorry about the language Mr. Mrs. Davis." I blushed, as his father tugged his lip upward.

"My son, you got a keeper here. You just need to make sure she's still alive when the doctor gets here....ah, speaking of which. Come, hurry doctor. We have a live one here."

"Adriana? Damn child, wait I'm going to give you something for the pain." He injected me with some pain meds, making my arm numbed.

"Dr. Michaels, it's been too long. I thought you don't do house calls anymore?" Everyone was listening in on our conversation and I let them be, I was too tired already, the adrenaline finally left my body.

"The security firm called me, must've been one of your guards that asked for me." Alex nodded at him.

"Sorry, Alex, this is Dr. Michaels, he used to do some work with my father. Dr. Michaels this is my boyfriend Alex Davis, and his family. He nodded to greet everyone.

"Adriana, my child I need to start on your wound, I need you to stay still. Now Mr. Davis, could you hold her still for just a moment while I took the bullet out and close her wound?" Alex nodded and pulled me back to his chest and held my forehead with his palm.

"Addie would be just fine doctor. Just need you to give her your best effort." Alex looked at Dr. Michaels seriously.

There was no warning, he just started poking on my upper arm, I was wincing trying to get away from his scalpel seconds later as it started cutting my skin. "Ohmygoooooodddd!!! Dr. Michaels, you're killing me here. More meds! More meds! definitely not high enough for this."

"Adriana, you're still such a baby up to now with your pain tolerance. Hold on I'm giving you another shot but this is the highest I'm giving you. You will be as high as a kite." Dr. Michaels chuckled and pulled out a new set of syringe gave me the numbing shot.

He was right I was floating right away. I was feeling light and numb as I could hear Alex sighed behind me and started to relaxed his grip on me.

I smiled at Alex. "I love you Alex, but you seriously got to her locked her up. This dress is new! Damn. I know I should've worn the black one tonight....." I kept on babbling as Dr. Michaels do his job, he finally found the bullet and stitched up my upper arm.

"Adriana, you need to rest your arm. Alex, she will be very chatty in the next couple of hours just be patient with her okay? If you could find her a sling for her arm that would be best, so she could limit her arm movement." Dr. Michaels started to write his prescription.

His parents had gone back out in the middle of my procedure, Nate had also gone back out trying to handle the authority, together with Chris.

"Adriana, I'm going to leave you now with Alex, you should be good in a week, it's a small caliber, the procedure went perfect. You wouldn't have any scarring, I've given you my best work there. But I'm so sorry about the dress though." He let out a little laughed, as I pouted to him. I gave him a hug with my healthy hand and said goodbye and thanked him.

Chris came in the study seconds later to escort Dr. Michaels out, leaving Alex tending me alone after they're all gone.

"Come let's get you cleaned up from all that blood. I need you to rest, this had been a very stressful night for both of us, Princess."

He carried me a bedroom, I was assuming this was his. He walked straight to the bathroom, then sat me down on the large marble sink. He left me for a couple of seconds to fill the bathtub. I was still high, and I started smiling as he was stripping me naked.

He was looking at me then started kissing me slowly and passionately. I could feel something else in his kiss, or maybe I was just that high. I was squeaky clean half an hour later after a warm relaxing sexy bath and now I was warm and snug covered in nothing else but his oversize pajama shirt. He pulled me in his embrace as he sighed deeply and kissed the top of my head.

"Sleep now, princess. I love you."

"I love you too Alex." I finally gave in and was pulled into a deep slumber.
