I could sleep more, but nope. My mind kept thinking, so I searched online for a new job. I sent my resume to some, and I will go on a job hunt today.
I can’t waste my time. I need to have a job so I can help Lindsey with the bills. At least I can do something useful.
I did all the things I needed to do and headed out.
First few tries, I didn’t have any luck, so I rested for a bit. My next target is the most prominent building near where our apartment.
Before I could even introduce myself and tell why I was there, the front desk person interrupted me.
“I’m sorry, ma’am, but it’s already cut off.”
I think I look desperate for a job that it’s already noticeable to everyone.
“What? What do you mean cut off? It’s still early! It’s just two in the afternoon! How can they cut it off that fast?”
“I’m sorry, ma’am. But that’s what the upper management said. I can’t let you in the building.”
I sighed and walked away in disappointment.
I’ve been sending and handing out my CV to any building, and I’ve done some interviews for walk-in applicants, but I can’t seem to get a good feeling about the job offers. And some companies are just not hiring.
This is the best company I want to try, but they’re already cut off. Or are they not hiring new applicants anymore?
This is frustrating.
I have no job.
Even if I have money because of Weston, I can’t just spend it away. I’m contemplating if I deserve that money besides, who knows if he wants it back and I already finished it. There’s no way that I can give it back to him so I won’t spend it. I desperately need a job. I won’t let Lindsey suffer because of me. We’re in one apartment to share the expenses, after all.
I looked out the street to look for another company I could apply to, but my eyes landed on the coffee shop in front of this building.
I need to calm down and rest for a bit. My desperation is not even good for me. I’m just attracting negative vibes. I need something to make me happier and more energetic so the distress disappears.
I went inside the coffee shop and ordered a box of donuts with the largest coffee I could ever have.
I stuffed it all in my mouth without caring about everyone around me. I don’t care what they think. I’m tired, and I need this sweet. I was seated near the window, so I’m sure people could see me. Kids would be scared to see me swallow all these donuts all at once.
Good thing they have a book shelves of books, free to grab and read. As what I always do. I grabbed one and tried to read it. Giving it a try.
Never in Meg’s life did she hit rock bottom this hard. She was just a simple girl trying to make it, trying to live, wanting to enjoy her life and explore the world but sadly the world is not rainbows and sunrises.
Her boyfriend broke up with her because her weight fluctuates, she started to get stressed because of her overloading work and she doesn’t have enough time to workout and take care of herself. She thought that’s by far the hardest thing that could happen in her life right now, until she got fired from her job for being late all the time.
She’s having trouble sleeping because of the heartbreak that affected her work performance. She vent it all out with her friend Emma who’s been her roomie for the past years. They decided to go clubbing to help her get rid of the stress for one night. She drinks a lot of alcohol but she’s not drunk at all so she decided to go home without her friend and it’s boyfriend.
Once she was outside the bar, a sketchy rugged man was staring at her. She was terrified that he would do something to her until he told her that he’s not going to kidnap him because he’s not his type.
She was stunned but that turned to rage when some guy behind her laughed at it. She challenged her on a bet that if she can turn him on he had to tell her that nothing is funny with what happened with her. The guy agreed to it and bet one hundred thousand dollars if she can turn him on. Meg was shocked but she continued to dance seductively.
Her eyes gazed on his erection and she couldn’t believe herself when she saw it hard. She thought that chubby girl might be the guy’s kink for he doesn’t get turned on easily as he said. Maybe it’s his kink. Meg won the bet and took home a credit card where she can withdraw the one hundred thousand dollars.
The next day, her apartment was bombarded by the police, arresting her for stealing a credit card. She was furious, she tried to explain but to no avail they didn’t let her go. At the precinct he saw the guy again. She wanted to punch him in the gut but the guy offered her a deal, it was the only way to see her again so he reported that she stole his credit card.
Owen is a billionaire, that’s what Meg finds out when he talked to her at the precinct and he’s not there to take back the money that he gave her.
He is there to get Meg to sign divorce papers. She is utterly shocked when she finds out that Owen and her got married last night. After the bet they head back to the bar and get wasted to the point that they marry each other.
What’s more appalling is when they found out that they cannot file a divorce paper without the witness that was there the night they got wed, because they made an agreement that if they ever try to file a divorce the witness should also sign it.
