Chapter twenty
"Cathy, fucking get out of bed I'm tired of that woman yelling."
I think mornings have something against me. I'm really not in support of Emma's new found behaviour of waking me up like this and I send her the finger to show appreciation for her bitchy act.
"Whatever." She muttered before closing my door with a loud bang. I heard the sound in the middle of my head. Fuck I hate this life.
I take my time washing my hair and taking a shower hoping to frustrate the epic witch before stepping out in...yeah you guessed right, jeans and a t-shirt though not the over sized ones, I wear a jacket over it and pick my backpack up.
My phone is almost dead when I pick it up and I scream mentally, how the fuck did I forget to plug it in last night? Tears of frustration gather behind my lids
"You finally decide to grace me with your presence." I huff and drop my bag on the kitchen table, her eyes followed my movement and I successfully ignore her.
"What is it you want?" I ask with a wide smile on my face but my tone is anything but nice.
"Breakfast, be quick about it I have a meeting with a sales rep I found online." She replied chewing her apple carelessly just to annoy me and damnit if she didn't succeed.
I wanted to give her an equally if not more disrespectful reply when what she said finally clicked, sales representative, you only need those if you wanted to sell something right? And last I remembered this woman had nothing worth selling.
She has sold most of my mom's sellable belongings save for the ones I hid, there's only one thing left that she could sell.
"You promised not to sell." I scream.
"I didn't promise to not do anything." She spoke like talking was fucking stressful checking out her ugly manicured nails.
"You said if I worked in that stupid club you would not sell the house." I hit the counter with my hands wanting to make a point. She doesn't bat an eyelash at my outburst.
"The payment isn't enough anymore. I heard there's some rich man interested in you. Get money from him."
"No!" I snap shaking my head. Being a stripper I can manage. Heck even private lap dances I can do but I will not ask a man for money because she's a fucking greedy mad woman.
"I will not ask him for any money, you can go and do it yourself." I scream at the top of my lungs, she doesn't seem fazed and that annoys me.
I hold the edge of the counter until my knuckles turned white to avoid attacking her, I don't think I'll be able to stop if I get my hands on her.
"You're a virgin right?" I glare at her but don't even dignify it with an answer. She rolled her eyes and mumbled something along the lines of me being an ungrateful bitch.
"Your silence means yes then. Give it up and maybe he might be more generous." I pick up my bag and leave the house angrily.
She can make her own fucking breakfast herself.
I walk to school with the hope of letting go of my anger with the amount of time I'll take. I'm in no better mood by the time I reach the school gates.
I hear a honk and turn to give a person a piece of my mind when I sight Emerald's BMW.
"What up bitch? Get in." I open the door and sit with a huff. Emerald glances at me with an eyebrow raised.
"What's wrong love?" I huff again and shake my head, I'll tell her later.
Emerald isn't very nosy thankfully which is why she let it go, I'll talk about it when I want and she knows that.
That and I might cry if I decide to talk about it now.
"Chips?" She pointed at the back and I nod in understanding.
I stretch and pick a bag of my favourite potato chips from her car chips collection, yes it's a thing. Being rich is quite nice.
"Are you having classes?" She asked parking in the student's parking lot and I shake my head no.
"In a few hours but I wanted to see Dr. Meeks substitute to beg for a make up test."
"Oh right, I hope he is nice."
"Ehh...maybe he is. I just hope he is, I really need to fix my shit." She pats my leg with an assuring smile.
"You'll get through this, just know your Friday night is free and Beast and I own you."
I stare at her quizzically my mouth agape, I'm quite dramatic you see.
"Now why does that sound like I sold my soul to the devil?"
"Maybe you did darling," she blew me a kiss before we both stepped out.
"Call me when you're done?" I nodded before we went our separate ways.
I walk to class with the bag of chips in my hand like a treasure thinking of the crispy goodness when I felt a hand on my wait, I jump immediately frightened when the culprits laughter reached my ears.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you." My frown immediately morphed into a smile and I turn to Adrian with a shake of my head.
"That wasn't cool."
"I'll make it up to you with lunch," He winked and a small chuckle left my lips.
"Now why do I have a feeling you did that on purpose?"
He smiled cheekily. "Maybe I did maybe I didn't but you're having lunch with me."
That made me laugh hard, I had to stop and catch my breath before nodding.
"Good one, you really did a great one." He fist pumped the air. "Well only because you bribed me with the love of my life, food."
"I did my homework so it was well planned." I shake my head and we walk to class like that, him teasing me and all that.
We get to the half empty class and I find a seat near the window as usual. This one looks out to the field where I can see hot college boys in very few clothing, that reminded me of something.
