Gu Juexi’s eyes darkened. He turned back around and picked up his phone as if it was no big deal.

Ye Yuwei pressed her lips together, letting go of the door and walking over.

Gu Juexi narrowed his eyes and twirled his phone aimlessly.

Ye Yuwei sat down beside him. “The old Mr. Gu has passed away; the will is in effect now. I don’t think Gu Tianmu will come for you anymore.”

“Before this, I thought Gu Tianmu didn’t like my mum. I thought he didn’t come home because of work,” Gu Juexi explained. “At the very least, he shouldn’t betray my mum.”

Ye Yuwei placed her hand on Gu Juexi’s hand silently, unsure of what to say to comfort him.
