Ye Yuwei behaved like Gu Juexi’s shadow, sitting only after Gu Juexi sat. She extended her greetings and asked about his health and the topic ended abruptly as she could think of nothing else to say.

The old man laughed again and scanned the couple sitting across him.

“It was such a long time ago, and it’s just some stale gossip. If you ask me, I’d say there’s nothing to talk about,” the old man said. He lifted his glass again but didn’t drink from it.

“Sir, do you know my father?” Ye Yuwei asked cautiously.

The old man lifted his head to look at Ye Yuwei. He didn’t take a good look at her last time due to the heavy rain, but now he could see her as clearly.

“Not really,” the old man said while shaking his glass, “Girl, get me some water from the room next door, please.”

Ye Yuwei paused for a second. She collected the glass from the old man after Gu Jue nodded and walked out of the room.

The old man looked at Gu Juexi after Ye Yuwei had disappeared from the room. “See, isn’t this nice?”

“Sir, was the person who came to see you Ye Shu?” Gu Juexi cut to the chase and asked.
