Chapter 190

Arrick picks me up outside my bedroom door, being lame about carrying me over the threshold and orders me to close my eyes. I eye him warily, grinning like a weirdo and cover my eyes with my free hand as I cling around his neck childishly. I have the giggling fits after our stealth maneuvers to get in here undetected. All it did was highlight how drunk he is when we almost fell in rose bushes in the onset of drizzle when he tried to piggyback me across the garden before we got soaked.

“Are they closed?” He nudges me, and I can hear him messing with the door to get it open while still holding me up. The slight sway as we stand here has me a little seasick though and I wish he would hurry up. Fresh air just made my queasiness intensify.

My window has met the same treatment and the whole room has been adorned with white flowers and lights and candles almost everywhere. On every surface to create an edge of blooms and soft lighting.

All my normal décor and childish things seem to be gone and the room has been redressed to match the theme of our wedding, with the whites, creams and golds of our settings and matching roses and lilies of our floral displays. The bed is covered with dozens of petals and the floor too. Even my bed has satin and fur sheets and bedspreads that I have never seen before and one red heart cushion lays in the center of it all

Balloons are floating at the ceiling around us and every single inch is like some fairy-tale dream room right out of a princess book.

“Oh my god.” I breath out, overwhelmed, as he slides me to my feet and props me in front of him, so I can gaze around and let it all sink in.

“Do you really think I would hold back from touching you for weeks to then screw you in the garden?” Arrick leans in kissing my exposed shoulder where my dress has slid, and I am speechless. I shake my head, realizing that my romantic Romeo would of course put bells and whistles on our wedding night, even if we did choose to use our family homes as the venues.

“It’s beautiful. I don’t know what to say.” I can’t hold back the sniffles and happy tears as he takes my hands and pulls me inside the room to close and lock the door. Turning me with him before leading me over to a golden trolley on wheels that’s decked out with champagne on ice, strawberries, and an array of snacks. I giggle at his choices and hug him with complete adoration.

A bowl of Cheeto’s, plate of cold pizza, candy, and popcorn. There’s bottles of coke on ice too and an array of junk food and such on display. He opted for Sophie food over sexy food and I think I could die from cuteness overload.

“You’re so lame.” I sniff through my blubbering as he hands me a delicate glass, he pours from the champagne bottle.

“I know. I figured I should embrace it.” He grins at me and hands me a napkin to catch my stray tears. I dab my face, overcome with so many emotions that I am finding it hard to contain them and sip my drink to clear my throat. Still tastes weird but I am not about to ruin this moment for him.

“I was a sure thing, none of this was needed.”

“Yeah but you know, you’re my Princess and I couldn’t drag you up here for wedding night sex without making a big deal out of it. It may not be the first time but doesn’t mean it can’t be memorable and special. It’s the first time as my wife.”

“Do I have to drink this and eat your hors d’oeuvres before you get me on the bed?” I ask him innocently and a smile creeps across that face, sending my stomach into a mass of tingles.
