The Girl At The Club

KAL’s POV

I hurry out of the company, and as expected, Achilles is waiting in the car for me. I entered and sat down at the back.

"What were you doing inside the company?" he asks, and I can see a knowing smirk forming on his lips.

"Whatever I went there to do isn't your business," I say, putting on the seat belt. "Now, take me to the person I came out for."

"Sure," he says and starts the engine.

"Quick question," I say, watching him nod to show that he is paying attention before he starts driving. "Where are we supposed to meet this person you talked about?"

I look at the rearview mirror to ensure my hair isn't messy.

"A club," he answers.

"Why would business discussions be held in a club?" I ask.

"That's where he asked to meet him," Achilles replies.

I sigh. "What is the name of this relative, and how did you guys meet?"

"You ask a lot of questions. Wait till we get there, then you are free to ask as many questions as possible."

"I have a bad feeling about this?" I mutter and hear him snicker.

STRIP CLUB...

"We're here," Achilles says as he parks the car in the parking lot.

I sigh and get down from the car. The first welcome I receive is the blaring sound of the music which resonates all around. This isn't my place, but since it's for the contract, I guess it's worth a shot.

"Where is he?" I ask Achilles immediately after he steps down from the car.

"Hey, hey, calm down, dude. Let's go in first. We'll see him there." Achilles led the way.

I follow him into the clubhouse filled to the brim with half-naked bitches and drunk men. I catch a whiff of alcohol and hold my nose in disgust. Jeez! What the fuck! Who in their right will decide to set up a business meeting in a club?

"Achilles, are you sure you got the address the man gave you, right?" I ask.

"Yes, why are you asking?" Achilles asks as we push through the crowd.

"I don't know, and it's just that this place... you know. It's a strip club, for fuck sake!" I snap.

"Don't worry. We'll be done and out before you know it." He reassures me, leading me deeper into the club.

“I'm losing my patience," I say.

"Have fun; there is nothing else to lose," Achilles says, and I stop in my tracks and then pull him back.

"What are you talking about?" I asked, anger evident in my tone.

"There is no one," he says, and I feel all the lightbulbs in my head go off.

"What did you just say?" I growl at him angrily. How dare he lie to me when he knows how important getting that contract is to me.

"I lied. There is no one here. All I said was made up. No relatives met me about any contract." Achilles surrenders his hands in the air, and my blood boils.

"What gave you the audacity to lie to me? You knew there was nothing, yet you brought me to this godforsaken place. What do you take me for? A fool?"

I am beyond angry.

"Take a chill pill, dude. All you do is work, work, work nonstop. It would be best if you loosened up a little. That's why I brought you here."

"A strip club?" I am still angry. What's wrong with Achilles sometimes?

"Yeah, where else do you need to relax and watch a good show if not the strip club?" he says, pointing at a bunch of half-naked ladies dancing on a pole.

"I'm outta here," I spit, and I'm about to leave, but he draws me back.

"Come on, just for tonight," he pleads, and I sigh.

What is there to lose?

"Let this serve as a warning to you. Don't you ever trick me using that contract, ever again!" I felt like throwing him a punch.

"Yes, boss." He smiles and leads the way while I follow.

"But seriously, I need that contract. Do you know how far I would take Niko Corps if I got that contract? I don't comprehend why the CEO wouldn't even meet me for a discussion." I complain as we enter.

"If the contract is for you, you'll get it. So, stop stressing yourself." Achilles soothes me as we sit down to watch the ladies.

I watch them with little interest. What are they showcasing that I haven't seen before? I scoff as I see men taking the ones they liked to a private space. I roll my eyes and look to the right when something or someone catches my attention.

It's a stripper! She... She is different! She's so good! I am mesmerized by what she is doing, and my jaw drops.

"Do you like what you're seeing?" Achilles asks.

I can't find words to express how I feel right now. It is like the only person I can see and think of is her. The most surprising part is that she is black-skinned.

"She's beautiful," I mutter and focus on her alone. The way she dances around the pole is different. She twists her waist and drops to the floor, making me want to watch more.

I look around and notice that most men are already focusing on her. She is just too perfect. If I am to grade her from one to a hundred, a hundred will be an understatement. I continue watching them and don't know when I stand up and walk up to her.

I wait for when our eyes meet, and in no time, they do. Immediately our eyes meet, and I gesture for her to come to me. She stops her pole dance and comes to me. I lean in and whisper something into her ear. She nods and follows me.

We go to a private room, and I sit down to watch what she will perform for me. Yeah, I hired her to perform for me alone, privately. I want to enjoy her every move alone. You might say that I'm being a bit selfish, but whatever!

She gets to work without saying anything and starts dancing. I watch how she moves, twists, and shakes like she has no bones in her body. She rubs my chest and continues dancing. I can feel my body heat up just by her touch, and I wonder when last a lady made me feel this way.

I try to hold her, but she draws back and continues dancing. I don't care since I am enjoying the show she is giving me. I'm impressed. I have never been this impressed in my life. I check her out: she has the perfect eyes, waist, and excellent features. She is equally tall and curvy, and though she is black, her beauty is mesmerizing. Her black skin shines in the dimly lit room, and the way she moves gives it a steamy feel.

After her performance, I didn't know I began to applaud her. She bows, and I smile. I stand up and walk up to her. I bring out my wallet and empty it on her. She deserves it and more. I won't lie, I think I like her... a lot. She assembles the money and is about to leave, but I stop her.

"Please, what is your name?" I ask.

She looks at me for a while before answering, "My name is Bells."

Damn! Even her voice is mesmerizing.

"Don't you have any last name or..."

"I go by Bells. I think that's enough."

"Okay. I loved your performance tonight. I'll make sure to visit here frequently."

"Thank you, sir," She says.

"No, don't call me sir. My name is Karanos Nikalaou, but you can call me Kal," I say to her with a wave, and she nods. "So, can I have your contact?"

"I'm sorry, Mr. Kal. Whatever happens at the club stays at the club." She speaks with finality and walks stylishly away from the room.

Shit! I sigh and ruffle my hair, then go back to meet Achilles.

"Where have you been?" he asks, and I narrate all that happened to him.

"You mean a lady turned you down?" Achilles looks surprised.
