Chapter 16 His Place
I think he even saw me almost spit staring at him.
With a few open mouths, he lowered the speaker. He scanned me again and slid his fingers with mine. It's really good and my make up is thick, I can't noticeably blush because of what she's doing. He walked straight ahead as I said goodbye to the people we would meet. In the parking lot of the building, he went to another car. It's not the Range Rover or even the SUV but a Fortuner.
This man ... I looked around inside his car because I had only just seen it. The seats are tan and like his other cars it is also clean and obviously well maintained.
I was silent as he backed the car to get out of the parking lot. He turned to look at me, I ignored that. But the last time I caught him actually staring I sparingly laughed. I brushed my hair with my fingers. He's probably amused with my look. Looking so western, very different from what he delivered this morning.
"Focus on driving please."
I jokingly told him as his car pulled out of the parking lot. His tongue played in motion and when he can't settle with it, he touched his lips and played with it. Even though he tried to hide it, I could see his smile. I peeked to the rear-view mirror and checked myself out.
"I look like a lion." I laughed.
He chuckled without looking and gently shook his head. I narrowed my eyes on him but he said nothing.
"Or a cat?" I waited for what he would say but it was still the same and he was holding back a smile.
He turned the car around and headed for the highway.
"A kitten. An innocent kitten."
"What?"
I laughed at his answer. A kitten? I have a soft features probably, why my look doesn't suit me that well. I heard him laugh again, I narrowed my eyes because of his teasing.
"Do you still have a shoot tomorrow?"
"Yes."
"What time?"
I turned to him because I knew what was next.
"You don't have to."
"I want to."
I stopped and he took a look, raised an eyebrow and quickly looked back at the road. I sighed, I'm just going to give a little to what this man is doing.
"That's it. 7 AM"
He nodded at what I said.
"And after lunch again?" I nodded sparingly. It's just brought, isn't it? If he invites me to lunch again, I will not allow it.
"Let's have some lunch tomorrow again." It was like a bullet that I fired and I returned it to me as well.
"Huh? U-uhm, I'm going somewhere."
"After shoot?"
"Yes."
"Where? I'll accompany you."
What? No, I'm not going anywhere. He can tell me I just don't really want to agree with what he wants.
"Do not you have a job?"
"I do."
"Then why will you pick me up tomorrow?" His forehead furrowed at my sudden raise of voice.
"Because I want to. "
I almost wiped my face at his answer. My mind was in turmoil and he was making it worse.
"I'll have to do grocery tomorrow. And I have a car, I can go alone."
"Then let's do your groceries."
What the heck? I sighed. I don't even know what to say. I'm dumbfounded.
"Where do you want to eat?"
I sniffed and thought. The last dinner we had was a big issue made, that would be different if we did that again today. In fact, that's exactly what we want to happen isn't it? We talked to cover up my issue and his fiancee came out. Like a wind whirl of emotions for me to stumble upon the truth and think.
He has a fiancee, and what am I doing here? The whole world seemed to fall on my shoulders. Is this what I'm saying, I'm going to hurt myself again just for this short -term fun. When will destiny be on my side? At the stop light I felt his hand on me. I turned to him.
"Is everything okay?"
I nodded and gave him a smile. He didn't seem convinced there because he was still frowning at me.
"Hey, green light."
The expression was hard as he turned his gaze to the road. It's up to you. If I get hurt, it's up to me. Am I not used to this kind of disease? E I just need to hang a medal for being a martyr e.
"I asked you, where do you want to eat?"
"Uhm, I want home cooked food."
"Home cooked?" I nodded.
"I don't know any restaurant with ..." I chuckled. Doesn't this one eat at home?
"I mean, I don't want to eat in a restaurant I just want to eat at home."
"I know. I know that."
The last word is poorly pronounced. It seems that there is more to be said but it is not continued.
"Then why are you looking for a restaurant?"
"If you permits then I'll take you to my place." He said coldly. My throat seemed to choke when I realized what he had said. I'm not really thinking, of course only in my condo and his condo can we go where I ask.
"Uhm, I can only go to my condo. In case I haven't been able to find a grocery yet."
"Then we'll go to my place. I'll cook for you."
I don't know why I'm cold at the thought of going to her condo. We'll just eat. What's so scary about that? And that's even better because no one is around us. We traveled not far. No one spoke and I could only look outside.
His expression was hard and he had no intention of talking. We arrived at a building. I won't be surprised if he owns this one too. Straight into a parking lot, I knew immediately that it was just exclusive to him. I look at familiar cars, not just one, two or three.
He parked our car in one of them. Entering the elevator was a familiar yet unbelievable another world.
