108 - The chapter with the kiss

The sorority girls turned with a questioning expression as they noticed Christian's approach, and without a hint of hesitation he went towards Alicia, bringing his hand to the back of her head, pulling her into a demanding kiss that she didn't hesitate to match.

The world stopped for a second as I watched that scene. He was roaming her body with his free hand in a kiss that should definitely not be given in public.  Some of her companions seemed confused by the situation, but Audrey flashed a satisfied smile looking straight into my eyes.

Liam and Skyller interrupted their steps, turning towards me with a worried expression on their faces, snapping me out of my daze. As soon as the two of them made mention of following me, I turned away, trying to keep my head up as I walked as fast as I could towards the exit.

" Rose, are you okay? " Joshua's voice made me stop in my tracks, forcing a smile while I wanted to cry.

" I'm... I…”

I fumbled as I spoke, looking back to see Sky coming towards me while Liam went over to where Christian was whispering something in Alicia's ear while his gaze was locked on me.

" Is that guy with the blonde your boyfriend? " Josh raised both eyebrows as he stared at me.

" Ex-boyfriend " I corrected him looking into his brown eyes.

That's when a plan popped up in my mind, I knew exactly what I needed to feel better at that moment, and the perfect person for that was right in front of me.

" Do you want a ride? " he understood what was going on, seeming to sympathize with me.

Josh had gotten rid of the purposefully shabby denim jacket he was wearing earlier, taking advantage of the nice weather inside the place, leaving his tattooed arms exposed. I brought my hand up to his, running the tips of my nails lightly up his arm as I leaned towards him.

" I think you can offer me a little more than that," I offered him my best smile.

Joshua lowered his gaze to my hand in contact with his arm, seeming only then to notice the establishment's stamp showing that I could not ingest alcoholic beverages.

" How old are you, Rose? " he looked at me with an amused expression.

" Does it matter? " I replied in the same tone, receiving a raised eyebrow in response " I'll be nineteen in two months.”

Josh leaned towards me, running his hands down my back, making me smile as I felt him reach my lower back, stopping just above my ass.

" Are you sure about this? I'm almost ten years older than you," he whispered in my ear.

With my peripheral vision I noticed the man's group of friends watching us curiously. But I had other plans at that moment.

" I have no problem with that. Or do you not want me? " I ran my hands up his chest, turning my face to look into his eyes.

" Are you trying to use me to make your ex jealous, Rose? " he whispered in my ear again.

His breath on my neck sent shivers down my spine, while his hand finally reached my ass, making my body start responding to him.

" 'I want to use you to show him that he can't get to me, and that instead of going home and hiding in my room and crying, I'll spend the night moaning someone else's name as I come. Do you have a problem with this plan? " I grazed my golden nails lightly across his neck, before moving up to his face, feeling his unshaven beard as I gently held his jaw.

A smile appeared on his face before his lips met mine, squeezing my ass unceremoniously as he kissed me. I couldn't help but compare the hungry way Joshua's lips moved over mine to Christian's controlling yet tender kiss. Not that the guy was a bad kisser, in fact, he was great at it, better than any of the guys I'd been involved with on campus, and that just showed me that I had to get Christian out of my system for good!

" Looks like I have my answer," I whispered with my eyes still closed as he walked away.

" Rose? " Sky's voice caught my attention.

I turned to her, not letting go of Josh, feeling pleased to find Christian staring at both of us, a serious expression on his face while Liam seemed to lecture him after pulling him away from the girls who were also watching me with a surprised expression.

" Hi Sky. Have you met Josh? " I smiled in response.

The man let go of me, extending his hand to shake my friend's, who returned it, looking a little embarrassed by the whole situation.

" Liam and I decided to leave, so…”

" Ahhh yes, you can go, I'll stay here " I smiled, turning my back to the guy, who wrapped me in a hug from behind, putting his hand on my abdomen and fitting me into his body when he noticed Christian and Liam approaching.

" Have you warned her, Sky? " Liam seemed to be in a terrible mood, while Christian stood a short distance away, glaring at us.

" She said she's staying with her... friend,' Sky looked lost.

" Rose, you came to ride with us," Liam took a deep breath.

" Don't worry, man. I'll take her to campus tomorrow morning " Josh assured, noticing Christian's approach, giving him a nod of acknowledgement " hey Davis, good to see you.”

Christian didn't reply, just turned his back and headed for the exit, leaving us behind.

" I got the impression that he didn't like seeing me very much " Josh frowned, making me smile as he looked at me.

Liam pinched the bridge of his nose and took a deep breath before turning back to face us.

" Dude, she's my girl, if you do anything bad to her, I'll make your life a living hell. She better be well tomorrow morning on campus " he warned Josh before turning to me " and you and I will talk later. Don't think it's over just like that. And I want a text from you every now and then letting me know you're okay!".

He grabbed Sky's hand and pulled her towards where Christian had followed, leaving us behind.

Josh released me, slipping his arm around my shoulder and pulling me towards his table of friends.

" Your group of friends is pretty interesting," he commented.

" I know," I sighed, feeling bad about everything that had happened.

" Are you sure you want to go with me? I can just drive you to campus, no problem," he commented before reaching the table.

For a second I thought about that possibility, but what would I do? Would I lock myself in my room and endure a lecture from Skyller about what happened? No. I'd rather stick to my plan and forget everything, at least for today.

" 'I meant it when I said I wanted to distract myself today,' I reassured him.

The man nodded in the affirmative, guiding me back to the table full of men the same age as him.

" Guys, this is my friend Rose, and we're going," he didn't go too far into his explanation. He just picked up his jacket from the table and a helmet from one of the chairs.

" Cristal won't like hearing about this," one of the guys with long hair and a goatee warned.

" I'll deal with her later,' he shrugged, pushing me away from the table as I stared at him in complete shock.

He just revealed that he has a girlfriend and forgot to tell me?

" Who is Cristal? And why won't she like that you went out with me? " I stopped my steps, making him smile.

He pointed to the stage, where the band from before was still playing.

" The guitarist, her name is Cristal Dhenmeyer, my little sister. I go to all her shows " he indicated a young woman with bright pink hair " Can we go?”

Once again I allowed myself to be guided by him, imagining how interesting that evening would be.
