20. the chapter where rose gets completely drunk
Rose
" Rose, this way " Theo guided me into one of the living rooms.
Liam was sitting on a sofa, with a girl sitting on either side of him, talking to some people, that image reminded me of a mobster in the VIP area of a nightclub.
" Why is she laughing? " Liam frowned as we approached.
" You don't want to know," Sky murmured.
He looked at me for a few seconds before he spoke again.
" Rose, this is Nina and Charlie Sinclair, my friends," he introduced the girls standing next to him.
They were both very pretty, especially Charlie, with his Native American features. I cocked my head to the side, imagining how she would look dressed in some of her native clothing. It was an interesting sight.
" Rose, tell me something, what do you say we both go somewhere quieter so that we can enjoy the evening in a more comfortable way? " Liam proposed, receiving a surprised look from our friends.
But the loud music was beginning to bother me a little, and I might as well lie down, or at least sit down.
" Sure, I'd love to," I smiled in reply.
My friend rolled his eyes, looking as if he had just confirmed a suspicion.
" How much did she drink? Don't let her get any more," he muttered before turning to one of the girls, "Charlie, dear, would you mind letting Rose sit in your seat?”
Nina shot Liam a shocked look, but her sister stood up without blinking. Sky guided me to the sofa, settling me there.
" Let's dance a little, Charlie," Nina stood up, leading her sister out of the room.
Liam put his arm around my shoulder, and I took the opportunity to lie on his chest, closing my eyes and smiling.
" Liam I love your perfume," I commented, taking a deep breath before feeling the couch sink in beside me.
" Can someone get her a glass of water? " Liam asked.
I kept my eyes closed for a few seconds without moving until someone shook my shoulder gently.
" Rose? Are you awake? I brought water," Sky warned.
Before I could answer, a new song started playing, a song that I loved.
" I'm going to dance! " I jumped up and went to the farthest part of the room.
" Stay where we can see you, Rose," I heard someone recommend before I slipped into the crowd of people already dancing there.
I moved my body to the rhythm of the music, closing my eyes and forgetting everything around me. I was already dancing to the third song when a presence behind me made me open my eyes. I turned around, bumping into the guy from before.
" Anderson, aren't you coming? " A voice that I knew more than I wanted to made me look in Jax's direction, grimacing in disgust.
" Excuse me.”
I tried to move away, but a hand wrapped around my waist, preventing me from moving.
" Where are you going in such a hurry? I came to dance with you," Anderson answered.
" I don't want to dance with you," I tried to break free.
" Come on, just one song," he insisted.
" I don't want to," I pushed him away.
Anderson held my arm at the elbow, pulling me back, and without much thought I hit him, scratching his face with my nails, which Liam and Christian liked to call claws.
He brought his hand to his cheek where two deep scratches marked his pale skin, looking irritated by my attitude. But before he could react, Christian stepped between us, pushing him away.
" Stay away from her! " he growled.
Anderson clenched his fists, hitting the boy right in the face, causing me to scream as Christian staggered to the side. Some blood began to trickle from a cut on his cheek, made by a ring Anderson was wearing,causing my heart to race. The music had stopped and everyone was apprehensive about the situation at the party. In the distance I saw Theo trying to approach, being stopped by Jax, while Liam and Sky made their way through the crowd, trying to get to us.
" I'm tired of your little friends! So what do you say we get out of here and finish what we started earlier?", Anderson growled as he approached me, making the mistake of turning his back on Christian
I stared wide eyed as Christian grabbed an upholstered stool from a corner, before leaping up and hitting Anderson as hard as he could, smashing the piece of furniture into his back, causing him to fall to the ground, bringing his hand to the back of his neck, groaning in pain at my feet. I stood paralyzed, shocked, watching this scene. It was as if all the alcohol in my system had disappeared, leaving me suddenly sober.
" Davis, they called the police, let's get out of here " Liam called out.
" What the hell! come on Rose," he cursed, grabbing my wrist and setting me in motion.
I couldn't register all the details, but it only took a few seconds for them to make their way through the crowd, and soon I was in the backseat of Theo's car next to Christian as my friend drove us out of there at full speed.
" I came with my car.”
" Sky and Liam will take it back to campus," Theo answered, "Are you okay?”
" What the fuck were you thinking, Rose? " I was startled by the irritation in Christian's voice.
The landscape passed quickly outside, I had the impression that we would soon arrive at the villa, and the adrenaline began to leave my body, giving way to horror at what had happened.
" What? " I babbled.
" You bet yourself with that idiot! " he accused.
" I didn't think Harry would make a mistake, I…”
" You trusted yourself, your safety, to a guy who was as drunk as you were! Do you realize how stupid you were? " he raised his voice again, causing my eyes to fill with tears as I stared at him in amazement.
Why is he treating me like this? I was just having fun, it wasn't that different from what I did at other parties! Okay, I didn't know most of the people there, and the other times I always stayed close to Liam and the boys, but...
" Chris…”
" No, what you did was stupid, and…”
" Making her cry now isn't going to help anything, Davis! You better calm down," Theo cut him off.
I blinked away the tears, looking out the window, catching sight of the campus that was beginning to spring up around us. Christian took a deep breath, wiping the blood that appeared from time to time on his cheek with the back of his hand.
