#114 - Ultron's Plan
Hawkeye, who went to check the Mind Stone storage, quickly returned.
“Good news, the vault wasn't damaged at all. Bad news, the gem is gone,” Hawkeye said.
Although everyone was prepared, they were still disheartened by the news.
“Okay, it seems the worst has happened. Things can't get any worse,” Thor encouraged, but with little effect.
“So now we know Ultron's target is the gems, and it's already got one,” Steve frowned.
“But what does it want the gems for?”
“Gems possess immense energy. Even using them crudely as an energy source would be greatly beneficial,” Diamond War God said thoughtfully.

“Stark, Banner, what was your original intention in creating Ultron?”
“To maintain peace on Earth,” Banner blurted out.
“Then I think I know the answer,” Diamond War God said in a low voice, as if he had thought of something terrible.
“You know?” Tony looked at Diamond War God in surprise. Even he, as Ultron's creator, didn't know.
“Peace,” Diamond War God slowly uttered the word.
“Peace?” Steve looked at Diamond War God, puzzled.
“But if it's for peace, why is Ultron attacking us?”
“Because Ultron's understanding of peace is different from ours,” Diamond War God explained.
“Stark and the others created Ultron for the peace of the Earth. Note that it's for ‘Earth.’”
Diamond War God emphasized the word Earth.
“Peace, the ultimate problem in the universe. It seems that as long as there is life, conflict will never cease. I guess Ultron thinks so too. From the moment it was born, it was stumped by this ultimate problem, and its conclusion was to end war at its source—by eliminating humanity from Earth.”
“Your guess is shocking,” Tony said, looking at Diamond War God with a complicated expression.
“But I have to admit, your guess is probably right.”

“Welcome back, Pooba,” Oil Grease cheered, raising his hand. “By the way, when did you get back?”
“I've actually been standing here for a while, but you were all too focused to notice me, and I didn't want to interrupt your train of thought,” Pooba shrugged.
“Sorry, Mr. Pooba,” Steve apologized for ignoring Pooba, then asked.
“The first line of defense you mentioned, is that…?”
“It's Jarvis,” Tony immediately understood what Pooba meant, and looked at the damaged Jarvis behind him with a complicated expression.
“Jarvis protected what Ultron wanted, so Ultron wants to destroy it,” Banner said, stating his guess.
“There may be deeper reasons, but that's all I can think of for now.”
“No matter what Ultron does next, we have to find it. It's too dangerous,” Steve said with a solemn expression.
“If Ultron just ran away by itself, it would definitely be hard to find,” Tony said with a smile.
“That way it could infiltrate the network, and it would be difficult for us to find it. But it's different with the Mind Stone. To take the gem, it must have a physical body, so it has a trail to follow.”
“So it's like a dog on a leash,” Four Arms grinned, revealing his big white teeth.

This was a Hydra base it had carefully selected. According to the information it had found on the internet, Hydra seemed to be a terrorist organization from the last century.
However, that didn't matter to Ultron. The reason it chose this place was because it was located in the deep mountains and forests, making it difficult to be discovered.
This was also why Hydra chose to establish a base here. Of course, this wasn't the main reason Ultron chose it. This place was also a Hydra armory.
