#32 - Gwen's Decision

"So, you're saying the Hand's ninjas were killed by an ordinary police officer."

"Yes, sir." Matt Murdock stood respectfully to the side. Only the Kingpin, the king of the underground, could command such respect from the leader of the Hand.

Kingpin slowly returned the chest press machine to its starting position with his muscular arms. The weight, beyond the capacity of ordinary people, was merely a post-meal relaxation in his eyes.

Wiping his sweat, Kingpin said unhurriedly, "Is that police officer a new invention of the government? A RoboCop? Or some kind of American sheriff?"

"As far as I know, neither," Matt said, unconcerned by the mockery in Kingpin's tone. "He should just be an ordinary police captain."

"Haha!" Kingpin couldn't help but laugh when he heard Matt's words. "So, it's not that the opponent is too strong, but that we are too weak, right, Murdock?"

Faced with Kingpin's question, Matt remained silent. He knew very well that this was a prelude to Kingpin's outburst.

"Give me a reason, Murdock. You know my temper. I can accept failure, but I cannot tolerate incompetence."

Matt clapped his hands, and soon two henchmen pushed in a monitor. At Matt's signal, the henchmen played a video for Kingpin.

The video was not long, and it only showed ordinary street scenes. Kingpin looked at Matt, waiting for his explanation.

"This is a video near the target, Stacy's, house. If you just watch it normally, it looks no different from an ordinary video, but if we slow down the video..."

At Matt's signal, the henchmen played the video again, but this time it was obviously slowed down. In the slowed-down video, a frame of disharmony suddenly appeared. The henchmen also pressed pause at the right time. A blurry black and blue figure appeared in the video.

Kingpin squinted his eyes and observed carefully for a while, then asked, "What is this?"

"I don't know," Matt answered generously, completely ignoring Kingpin's livid face, after all, he really couldn't see it. "This is just an ordinary street corner camera. Being able to see a blurry shadow is already the limit."

"So, this blurry shadow can prove that your ninjas are not useless?"

"This alone is certainly not enough." Matt gestured again. The screen was reduced in size, and it was divided into four equally sized screens with three other images. The street scenes of each image were different, but all had that blurry black and blue shadow.

"These four are the only videos that can detect that figure. Although there are not many, we can deduce the destination of that figure based on them."

"The Stacy's house?" Kingpin guessed.

"That's right. Forgive me for speaking frankly, sir, but I don't think many people can defeat an opponent with that kind of speed." Matt looked helpless. It's not that our army is not working hard, but the enemy has Gundam.

"How do you know they are in cahoots?" Kingpin questioned again.

Matt did not explain, but played a video. Judging from the scene, the shooting location should be at the entrance of the hospital. In the video, the Stacy father and daughter appeared in the next frame where there was nothing in the previous frame.

"There were not many people at the entrance at the time, so no one noticed their sudden appearance. Not only that, but the hospital's video was also destroyed by someone. This video was saved by us as soon as possible."

"It seems that our Captain Stacy is not as simple as he seems." Kingpin's expression was serious. An enemy whose speed is so fast that the camera cannot see its appearance is indeed terrifying.

"How is that matter being prepared?"

Matt first asked the henchmen to leave. After only he and Kingpin were left, he answered Kingpin's question.

"Herman agreed. As for that Rhino Aleksei, we couldn't find him in prison. I guess the SHIELD guys may have interfered, but we found his accomplices."

"That Rhino, if you can't find him, then forget it. Ask his accomplices to make one just like him. We still need to find manpower. A few people are definitely not enough..."

"Not enough to take this city!"

"What's wrong, Gwen? You look unhappy. Don't worry, Uncle George's hand is fine. That arrogant doctor named Strange guaranteed it."

Yang Le and Gwen were eating at a restaurant near the hospital. Yang Le ordered a lot of food to take care of Gwen's superhuman appetite, but Gwen didn't appreciate it. Instead, she looked at Yang Le hesitantly.

"It's not because of that." Gwen hesitated for a moment, and finally said, "Habby, I want to investigate who wants to get rid of my dad."

"No problem, do you need my help?" Yang Le readily agreed, and said with a smile, looking at the surprised Gwen.

"You don't think I'm going to stop you, do you?"

Although she didn't know why Yang Le would be shocked by a doctor's name, Gwen finally felt relieved when she heard Yang Le agree to help her and that he also had clues. She also had an appetite when she looked at the big meal in front of her and began to eat heartily.

"How can this work, Dad? I still want to stay here to take care of you."

"No need to say more, old buddy." George stopped the group who wanted to speak. "I can't get you involved, it's too dangerous."

"I have a suggestion about this, Uncle George," Yang Le suggested from the side.

"How about letting Gwen stay at my house?"
