#435 - Falling from the sky

While Hyperion clutched his head and groaned in pain, Beast Hank quietly landed the aircraft not far from Scott and the others. Scott, most worried about his girlfriend, wasted no time in gathering everyone and heading towards the aircraft.

"Hurry, Scott," Jean's voice sounded in the communicator. She sounded strained, as if dragging something heavy.

"I feel... I can't... hold on much longer."

"Whoosh!"

A streak of orange-yellow light flashed before Scott and his team, carving a deep groove in the ground. Following the direction of the beam, they saw Hyperion clutching his head and glaring at them.

"He broke free from Jean's mental abilities so quickly?" Gambit looked at Hyperion in astonishment. "How is that possible?"

"He's obviously using magic," Illyana pointed to Hyperion's head. "Look at his forehead."

Following Illyana's reminder, they noticed a circular magic array with strange patterns floating in front of Hyperion's forehead. The patterns were changing rhythmically.
