#445 - General Ross and Bruce Banner
"You're lying again, Mark."
Betty pouted, not believing a word her brother Hyperion said.
"Really."
Hyperion nodded seriously.
"I wouldn't use my powers all the time at home."
Watching the bickering siblings, the middle-aged man revealed a rare, kind smile.
Just as he was about to speak, the phone on the table rang first.
Without the middle-aged man needing to remind them, the siblings fell silent.
"Hello, it's me."
The middle-aged man reverted to his initial serious demeanor after answering the phone, as if the fatherly image from before was just an illusion.
"Yeah, I understand."
After listening to the phone for a while, the middle-aged man hung up.
As soon as he looked up, Betty spoke.
"Looks like the busy General Ross won't be able to have dinner with his family today."
Ross forced a smile, shook his head, and said, "Don't be sarcastic, Betty.
I told you, unless there's something really important, I'll still have dinner with you."
"That's good."
Betty stuck out her tongue.
Hyperion reached out, removed Betty from himself, patted her head, and said.
"Go to the dining room first, Betty.
I have something to discuss with Dad."
"What is it that's so mysterious?"
Betty muttered.
She had just wanted to share her wonderful day with her boyfriend with her father and brother, but it seemed she would have to wait until dinner.
Nipping Hyperion's arm in retaliation, she found she couldn't even pinch his muscles.
Helpless, she could only give Hyperion a glare before walking out of the study, closing the door behind her.
Ross glanced at Hyperion, who immediately understood, glanced at the study door, and said, "Betty is indeed gone."
It wasn't Ross's fault for being wary of his daughter, because Betty did have a history of eavesdropping.
Even with his own family, there were some things Betty shouldn't know.
Like the Super Soldier Program, even Hyperion only knew a little bit about it.
After all, it was still human experimentation, which was too inhumane.

"Talk, what's going on?"

Hyperion's battle suit wasn't some mass-produced item from a tailor shop.
His battle suit was made of new materials researched by Stark Industries, plus some auxiliary materials, making a composite material.
Even if Hyperion wore it to break through the atmosphere, it wouldn't be damaged.
Plus, with Hyperion using his cosmic powers for protection, in General Ross's mind, the only people who could push Hyperion to this extent were probably the mutant leader Magneto and the Supreme Mage.
Hyperion smiled wryly, then told Ross exactly what had happened today, Ross's expression changing from relaxed to serious.
"Able to beat you to the point of having no chance to fight back?"
Ross tapped the table lightly.
"Are you kidding me?"
"No, Father."
Hyperion shook his head.
"Like I said, that Kryptonian's strength is indeed above mine."
"If I hadn't experienced it myself, I probably wouldn't have believed it.

I'm like a child in front of him, and I can feel that he could probably defeat me with one hand."
After listening to Hyperion's description, Ross stopped talking and pondered for a while, only coming back to his senses when the electronic clock in the study reminded him it was dinner time.
"Don't think about this anymore, my child."

"Good morning, I just made a cup of coffee here, if you don't mind, you can have a cup first and wait for me to finish my work before I come to you."
"It's evening, Bruce."
Howard shook his head helplessly, and looked down at the coffee placed on the table, sure enough, there wasn't even a trace of heat.
"Really?"
Bruce scratched his head.
"Looks like I missed breakfast and lunch, if Betty knows about this, she's going to scold me again."
"Seriously, Bruce, I'm very curious about how you managed to attract General Ross's daughter."
