#736 - Capture mission

The bustling crowds and the dense web of overhead power lines complement each other perfectly in Seoul, one of Asia's most renowned and vibrant metropolises.

However, the city is particularly lively today. The faces on the streets aren't just Asian; there's a noticeable presence of young Westerners, an unusually large number even for a country with eighteen foreign powers stationed within its borders.

Interestingly, these young people are carrying various items like cheering sticks, custom-made fans, and hats, suggesting they're here for a concert.

The streets are filled with excitement as everyone eagerly discusses the upcoming event, except for a group of people in an alleyway...

"Oh, God!" Danbi wrinkled her nose, looking at the promotional flyer in her hand. It was decorated with modern fonts and patterns, all designed to highlight the girl who took up most of the flyer.

"It's Xuxia's Seoul concert today! Why does it have to be today? I finally managed to snag tickets through the S.H.I.E.L.D. network, and now it's all ruined."

Danbi pushed the mask that housed the bear spirit up onto her head like a hat, and her clothes transformed into a typical elementary school uniform, making her look like any ordinary schoolgirl.

"Alright, Danbi, it's just a concert. You'll have other chances to see her," Lei Ling said, bending down to comfort the little girl. "I'll come with you next time, okay?"

"Silence," Han Yamei's voice came through the earpiece, interrupting their conversation. "We're here on a mission today. Put your personal feelings aside and focus on the task at hand."

Lei Ling and Danbi replied simultaneously, although the latter's voice sounded rather listless.

Han Yamei didn't dwell on it. Danbi was still a child, and you couldn't expect too much from her, even though Danbi herself demanded it. If it weren't for the uniqueness of her abilities, S.H.I.E.L.D. wouldn't have recruited her and assigned her to a frontline team.

"It's a good thing there are so many foreigners here; otherwise, I'd stand out even more," Zhu'er said, leaning against a wall and scanning the diverse crowd around her.

With so many people of various hair colors, eye colors, and skin tones, Zhu'er didn't need to wear clothes to conceal her appearance. She really disliked that stuffy feeling.

"What's the target's status?" Han Yamei asked. Their team consisted of four people. Besides Danbi, who needed supervision due to her age, the other two were acting separately, with Zhu'er assigned to the location closest to the target.

Generally, it would be more appropriate for Han Yamei to replace Zhu'er in South Korea, but as mentioned earlier, Seoul had a large number of foreigners, so any unfamiliar face wouldn't seem out of place. Therefore, the task fell to Zhu'er, who had the most well-rounded abilities.

"The target hasn't made any unusual movements," Zhu'er's eyes glanced at the young people nearby, seemingly drawn to their enthusiastic discussions, but she was actually using the opportunity to scan the target of their mission.

He looked like an ordinary Asian man, the type who would disappear into a crowd, but Zhu'er had memorized the information Yang Le provided, so she wouldn't mistake him.

"When do we move in?" Zhu'er asked the question she was most concerned about.

The communication channel went silent for a moment. The danger of this mission far exceeded anything they had experienced before. If they failed, the consequences wouldn't just affect them; even the Earth might not be able to withstand it.

"The target is moving," Zhu'er's voice suddenly rang out. The other three, who had been deep in thought, immediately became alert. There was no room for error in the upcoming mission.

Lei Ling looked out the window and saw the target, Park Jae-hyun, moving purposefully in one direction. He quickly made contact with another Asian man on the street, and the two began talking.

"Can you hear what they're saying?" Han Yamei asked, and everyone present knew who she was asking.

"It's difficult. I can't get any closer without arousing the target's suspicion."

Zhu'er stopped in front of a clothing store, pretending to examine the clothes in the display window, but she quickly came up with an idea.

"Lei Ling, can you control the air currents to transmit the sound to my ears?"

Sound travels through the vibration of a medium, and Lei Ling could control air currents. She had used this trick before to create an invisible speakerphone, but the distances between them were quite far, and Zhu'er didn't know if she could do it.

"The distance is a bit far. I can't guarantee the precision of the air currents," Lei Ling said, pulling Danbi out of the cafe.
