Assignment
King Adrian's POV.
I don't know what to do or think currently but the fact that my mate was disappointed at me breaks my heart more than anything could. The ability to control my anger and not break anything is gradually slipping away from me.
I've drank a whole bottle of alcohol since I can't drink tainted nor anyone's blood, but the destructive feeling didn't go away, so now I've decided to go visit the hospes. I should just go get my answers about why she's after Liliana.
There are many questions in my mind, like- why did she attack my men that night in the castle? Why did she come to the castle in the first place? Why would she change her form and until Liliana came did she change to her old self since all this years? What does she have to do with Liliana? Sending her owl and all.
In the pit of my stomach, I know that this hospes is powerful than any of us combined. I know she can escape anytime but perhaps she chose not to. Because after receiving all the punishment we gave her, she should have ran. I think she's related to Liliana.
Well, I'll go find answers. I'm on the last flight of stairs that leads downwards to the underground cell where she's been kept in.
When I get there, the guard- Griffin, bows his head and greet me. I answer him without looking at him but gaze at the hospes who's currently sitting on the muddy, dirty ground with eclectic nasty smell in the aura. Her head is hanging down, and her eyes are closed. Her legs are spread before her. She looks like an innocent young human girl but I know she's not. Lorenzo and I have always known that.
"Open the gate." I tell Griffin and he did immediately, he opens it and I enter. The smell becomes tougher as I get closer. Griffin is gripping his fighting equipment firmly in case anything dangerous happens.
I step closer to the hospes and ask. "What do you want with her?" I feel she knows the reason why I'm here before so I don't think I need to go into details.
She doesn't answer, the small ray of light penetrate to her messy, dirty hair as I look at her from my taller height.
I bend my knee, closer to the hospes and Griffin quickly say with concern. "My king."
"Don't worry." I calm him and continue to look at the hospes. She doesn't even raise her head. She's just angering me more. I should have known that this is a bad idea. She wouldn't talk. Lorenzo had warned me before and I should have listened to him.
I stand and turn to Griffin who's on alert mode. "Double her suffering. Make sure she's not given any food in every three days. If she wants to act dead then lets make her death quick." I say.
She still doesn't make a move. I huff and walk out.
Just as I'm almost at the exit, a broken voice ask.
"You are here to know my plans for the human girl who would save all, aren't you king Adrian?"
I turn my back, amaze with what's happening. Griffin is as shocked as I am now. So I order him to leave us for I couldn't risk him hearing everything we say.
"What do want with her?" I ask, paying my undivided attention to her.
"You don't need to know." Her head crack as she turn to me. Oh, man! How long has she stayed in this position? Definitely, she's not a bender nor a human.
She continues. "I'm not your enemy."
"Neither are you my friend."
"True." She confirms. "But I'm no evil. Don't we all want peace?" She ask, more like asking her own self. "That's exactly what I want. I won't hurt our saviour, your mate. All I want is peace and balance to the worlds. I won't hurt Liliana. I promise." She goes to lie on her ruffled bed. "I promise, king Adrian."
"I don't trust you and I don't want you near her. That's an order." I say firmly.
"Yes, king Adrian." She whispers. That...that went...easy? Did she just agree?
I mindlink Griffin to retract from the order I gave earlier before telling him to come back to his post. I don't trust the hospes at all and I don't want her near Liliana. Who knows what she wants.
After doing that, I run out of the place in my inhuman speed and as I turn at the next hallway, a feeling like a gust of wind hits me in the face tenderly.
Liliana Roslyn's POV.
"Are you alright?" Lucas ask me as we are on our way to finish whatever thing he wants us to finish. Assignment, as he calls it. We are taking some flight of stairs that is taking us downwards.
"No." I say the truth.
"You know he didn't do it intentionally. If anyone's to be blamed, I should be." Lucas looks at me. That's the problem. I can't blame Lucas. He's different. He's something full of puzzle that I couldn't decipher. I can't be angry at him for some reasons that I don't know of.
"If the harlows didn't possess me, there'll have been no issue between you two." He adds.
"No, Lucas." I comfort him. "It's none of your fault." He nods.
"Have you read the book I gave you?" He ask, moving the conversation to a lesser tense one.
"Nope. Why?"
"Nothing. I just wanted to know." He says and I nod understandingly.
"So...where are we going?" I ask while trying to keep up my pace with his long legs.
"You remember that I can read your thoughts, so stop indirectly insulting my legs." He smiles and I join him, slightly swatting his shoulder. "I'm taking you to Rogue to honour the promise I made to you which is making sure she's punished." Lucas says suddenly.
I gulp and look at him with wide eyes. "Don't worry. You're safe with me." I nod when he says those words.
We finally get to a dark, creepy, damp and smelly cell. Only a small rays of light from the small window fills the room.
Drops of muddy fluids drip from the roof wall to the metal cell, making the ground near the cell to be filled with the same muddy fluids and giving the place a foul smell.
There's no guard here and Lucas walks forward. He bends the muddy fluids and uses them by slashing against the metal padlock to break them. Boasting Lucas. Why can't he just unlock the door to open it? At least he should have the key.
He notices me smiling and he smirk too.
"Now lets face business." He says and his eyes glow their cerulean blue colour. He pulls in his stretched forward hands and Mrs. Rogue inhumanly flies out of the dark cell, her body flying mid-air.
Lucas then bends her body, making her kneel and bow in a child-pose posture at me. "Bow to your queen." He says authoritatively. Queen?!
I look at him with uncertainty. "What do you want me to do to her for you?" He ask. Mrs. Rogue is just grunting heavily and her heavy breathing can be heard in my human ears. She's afraid. The bitch is afraid.
"Punish her." I say and Lucas nods.
"Yes."
Mrs. Rogue's body lie horizontally mid-air by the movement Lucas made. Then, he start to swift his hands, swinging them from her head down to her legs. Suddenly, he adds force and pulls with pressure, moving his muscular hands abruptly in the air and stretch them to her legs across from her but the screeching sounds that emit from Mrs. Rogue's mouth makes me wonder what he's doing without even touching her.
He did the same thing again, moving his hands from her head to her legs and she screech again. I notice her body turning to flakes and her skin is deteriorating. Like an acid is being poured on her.
Oh, my...I think Lucas is boiling her blood.
Her screams seems unbearable to my human ears.
"Lucas stop!" I yell to overcome her voice that's overcoming every sound. The whole castle should be hearing her.
Lucas pause but didn't stop, thereby only making her scream less in intensity. He looks over to me.
"Leave her but command or...compel her to leave and never harm any human again." I say and Lucas finally halt and drops her down harshly.
She thud onto the ground and as she drops, Lucas bends her and compel her with the condition I said earlier.
She nods and run off inhumanly to wherever Lucas had tell her to go.
"Will she come back?" I ask.
"I don't think so. She's also powerful since she's an instructor of the acies but don't worry. You should have let me kill her and end it all at once." He says.
"I'm not a murderer." I say, feeling bad that I even let him harm her at first. Mrs. Rogue's evil. But one can't stop evil by adding more evil.
"And that's why I wanted to kill her for you." He reply.
"Her blood will still be on my hands because you killed her for me."
"Perhaps. That's why you'll make a fine and worthy queen." He says as we are on our way back. He's at the front and I'm trailing behind him.
"Fine and worthy queen? You and your parables. What does it mean this time around?" I ask.
"You know what it me..." Lucas pause and suddenly a breeze fans onto my skin from afront us. The bender stop to reveal king Adrian.
King Adrian looks at me and smirk a bit before darting his eyes to Lucas. We stay in silence and I notice his seductive dressing.
He wears a red-wine shirt that's leaving two buttons unbuttoned at the top with a long, black and ironed jeans. Coupling with a golden wrist watch and a black and golden leather shoe. His black hair is brushed fully to the back but some stubborn strands flop half-erectly to his forehead. He's deliciously looking amazing, like a cupcake. He looks ready to be eaten and chewed and moanfully swallow in an enjoyable manner.
I notice that the two brothers are speaking internally to each other as their eyes glow. The hazel glow in king Adrian lens seems fascinating. Like those werewolves eyes that I once saw in some old comic books in the years before the mass. I think it's the year- 19s and early 20s.
Their glowing eyes retract and they go back to normalcy. I snap out of my drooling when Lucas speaks.
"Um...please excuse us Liliana." He says and continue. "The guard at this next corner would take you to Alex and he'll take you to the chambers. Please don't worry them."
Why do they always like to make me feel like I'm the bad girl here? They are worst than me. Jeez!
I'll just leave now and probably when I get to the room, I'll read some chapters in the antique book that the ancient Lucas gave me.
As I reach king Adrian's chamber, I dash to the closet where my clothings are stored and bring out the book from under.
Then, I rest my back, facing the grand, and fancy ceiling that's made with glass. I check the brightened sky that's filled with a heavy sun and few clouds. There's a reason why I called it grand and fancy because even with the intensity of the sun, it's not reaching here. I can't feel the burning sun shining down onto my face.
So, I take the book from aside me and start to open. Mindlessly, I open a page. Chaptered, A Being For Human Death.
Uhhhh...that calls my attention and I start to read...
