The Earth of mist ch14
Ch14
The last thing Peter expected to see is his father standing at the door of his apartment. They both stood for seconds before Peter let his father through. Peter felt the same contractions he always felt every time he saw his father.
Sammy sat on the couch for the first time Peter saw Sammy's father very weak. Sammy hesitated before asking Peter: Are you okay?
Peter looked to his father for a moment before answering, I'm fine. Peter was silent and did not try to offer Sammy coffee until he left quickly. Sammy looked at Peter and asked, Can you make us coffee I want to talk to you about something important.
Peter was making coffee and trying to look normal, but he was all sweaty and nervous. Peter was terrified of Sammy but had to resist it now. Peter thought he was different now that although he was involved with the mysterious man, he was never the weak old Peter. Peter also thought that his father Sami may have forgotten what he was doing with him as a child or what he was forced to do. Sammy may have thought Peter had forgotten.
The executioner always forgets, unlike the victim, who lives her whole life fighting guilt, guilt because she couldn't resist.
Peter watched his father sip coffee very slowly before he put the cup on and looked into Peter's eye in some serious way. Peter said, You know how hard it was for me to bring you and your mother here? How much did it take for you and your mother to buy that house? You know things were never easy when you were little, but now things have changed. Peter replied: What do you mean things have changed? Sammy looked at Peter and said, Look, you are a man now and you have done nothing for yourself. Look around you, you are miserable, while at your age I have been a family, a wife, a career, and you are what you are doing with your life. Peter calmly replied: Did you torture yourself by coming and seeing me years later, you refused even that I was your only son to tell me about my life. Sammy responded angrily: ruined by your mother. Peter angrily shouted, Don't talk about her. She's gone in peace. Sami responds: What peace you have left is hurting because of you Look, I will not let that house go forever on your hands. Peter knew that Sammy was afraid that Peter would take half the house now that his mother was gone. But he felt pleasure watching the anxiety and tension on his father's face. For the first time, Peter says to Sammy, Don't worry, I haven't thought of anything yet about the house.
Peter never thought about it before; he now owns half a house and can do many things. For the first time, Sammy sits nervously in front of Peter, not the other way around. Sammy quickly walks away and Peter looks at the window and watches him go away. His mind begins to remember the night of Sammy's accident, when he lost his foot, but blinds his eye and holds his head hard, trying to keep him from remembering.
On the other hand, Jason was getting ready that night to see his daughter Christine, who he felt was nervous talking to on the phone that morning, until she finally reluctantly agreed that Jason would come and visit her at home and have dinner together as a father and daughter. He spotted Bailey running toward his office, echoing Open your computer. The tension passed on to Jason, seeing the video broadcast from an anonymous account of a man in a terrifying mask on his face. The mysterious man held their breath while the man said, It is time to count the wrong and do justice. The mysterious man's silence appeared And a mystery before the mystery man disappears from the screen. Jason shuts down the computer and says, What is this? Bailey replied: You wouldn't believe we found that mask inside Selma's room.
Christine tried to look calm and all was fine, especially after Mary went out for the night. Christine was upset because Mary hid something for the first time since she had known her years ago. Christine Stewart was not easily distrustful or obsessivetic with people as well as with viruses and germs. She decides to cook fish because she remembers that Jason loves fish so much.
On the way to Christine, Jason was thinking of Selma, who was found slaughtered in the woods. The shape of the body still haunts him because it was as if she consented to her murder and never resisted. Something made Jason first sympathize with a victim, a professional investigator years ago, but somehow reminded him of his daughter, Christine.
Jason arrived at his daughter Christine Stewart's house on time and upon arrival Christine was very surprised. She used to never keep any promise to her and to disappoint her, but this time he arrived on time and was carrying the cranberry cake Christine loves so much. Christine felt the emotional moment as he kissed her cheek and went inside. Jason stood up to the kitchen and said, Oh, you've made oyster. She said, Yes, black rice too.
While Jason was eating the best oysters he had ever had and trying to repair his relationship with his only daughter, Bailey would get out of his car and step forward in the dark into the woods, trying not to look nervous as he approached the mysterious man. The mysterious man heard him say, Stop. Stop. Billy stopped a few steps away from the mysterious man. Billy nervously said, It's done as you wish. The mysterious man said, Do you really think that?! Bailey fervently said, Of course I did Believe me, you didn't see the face of veteran detective Jason Listen, my family has nothing to do with all this. The mystery man interrupted: Shut up and do what you have to do.
