End of Gabriella
It was soon afternoon. I slept through the breakfast and brunch again. I didn't go to office today, I didn't feel like it. Neither did I want to mingle with my friends and family. Jasmine and her boyfriend came here too, upon short notice from their studio.
I wanted to stay cooped up in my room. The emptiness that my lady gives me was incomparable.
Just you wait, my love.
Once I find the woman, I will make you mine again.
To be honest... I miss myself too.
It's only about time.
Out of the blue, I receive a phone call from my work mobile.
Didn't I already tell them I will be off today last night? I didn't want to be disturbed at all today.
With my morning, groggy voice, I answer the phone without taking notice of the ID.
"Hello? Didn't I tell you—"
"You have a lot to tell me, don't you?" The voice seemed different. It was an unknown number upon checking.
My first instinct was to dial Ms. Smyers to trace the phone's location. The voice was awfully similar to Gabriella.
"Who are you?" I keep her engaged.
I just need one minute for her to be on call, to trace her out.
"Now now, you wouldn't forget your own cousin sister, Aaron. Think a little." She says. Ms. Smyers was online and connected to my call.
"Didn't think you would be alive." I say to rile her up.
"Didn't think you'd make it that far either. Looks like we both have nothing in common."
"Exactly. I wouldn't steal from a family out of greed."
"We didn't steal anything from you, Aaron. We only took what should be ours." My blood boils at her very sound now.
"You took what was yours? When was everything yours, Gabriella? My father built that company to touch the skies and you... you come to steal everything away? Leave about the company, why just the money? Why not rule the people? At least that way you'd be benefitted for a lifetime than die in my hands." I say with anger brimming in me.
"That's not my fault, Aaron. You were too young to handle shit. We deserved the company more than you."
"So you stole only the money. It was half a billion, fucking half a billion!" I scream.
"I don't care anymore. You will receive a surprise this afternoon. Oh, looks like it's going to be afternoon real soon. You're always late, aren't you?"
"What do you fucking mean—" my words go further as she cuts the call.
Something strikes to me just then.
I better go check up on Ravine.
Getting dressed and carrying a gun with me, I quickly gather the best men and leave my mansion. I want to apologize to Ravine, genuinely. I buy a bouquet of flowers. I had nothing to fret about since Ms. Smyers already has her location.
Indeed, I might surprise Ravine by taking her to Gabriella. I will end this forever.
"Hey love, open..." my words were cut when I see the door slightly ajar. That's strange.
As I curiously walk in, following caution, I see things scattered everywhere. It was as if there was a tornado which hit the interiors of her house.
Fear started to bubble inside of me.
"Ravine? Ravine! Smyers! Where is everyone!?" I scream to find them.
Upstairs, I was shocked to see the bedroom absolutely thrashed.
Smyers was on the bed, barely alive as I call her team to check up on her. She was struggling to fight with blood all over her face.
"Who did this!?"
"Ga-Gab..." I could figure out.
"Where is Ravine—" before I could complete my question, she raises her hand to show the paper note stamped on the bedpost with a knife.
It said, "You traced me with confidence, Aaron. But what about your girlfriend now? I was pretty shocked to see how weak your security head was. Wasn't a good fight at all <3" I crush the paper, tear it into pieces and roar with mixed emotions.
What will she do to Ravine?
I brought her into this mess.
Shit! Shit! Shit!!
"E-ear... earpiece..." As Smyers was brought to emergency by her team, she says in a low voice. I ask for a tech team member of hers to help me trace Ravine's earpiece. That's right! She still had the earpiece implant in her!
We quickly find the location as it turned out to be the drainage below the city lines.
Finding the heat signatures and all, we find a manhole to enter as we block the whole road to do so. Police was pushed away with the force of the detective department I hired. We were causing such a ruckus.
I held the gun to my shoulder's length.
I only prayed for one thing.
Ravine must be alive and safe. It would kill me to know if something happened to her. I would never forgive myself.
