So low
"89 Million..?" I ask the male. Suddenly, I fall into a smile while pulling Ravine closer into my arms.
"That's her pocket money from one publishing. You must not have a lot to give out as ransom, right? How much did they pay you?" My voice was stern, I was in no mood to forgive someone who's made so many mistakes, the first was to become my employee.
"I asked, how much... did they pay you?" Ravine gasps when I pull out the gun from my waistband. The employee shivers in fear, but I didn't give a damn. I was pissed beyond limits.
"Boss, please I'm begging you— I- I have little children to feed. I had no choice!" He screams.
Closing my eyes and taking a deep breath, I hear Ravine whispering in my ear.
"Maybe he was threatened, Aaron. Leave him be. Just fire him." She says.
Suddenly, I pull the safety off, loading the bullets with the magazine click.
The man kneeled in front of me screams in terror.
"Mr. Brown... you never wrote you had a family in your application status. What... did they offer you?" I ask him again. I was running on the thinnest line of patience before I fall to the other side and use my other side of my personality to get the answers out.
"Smyers, take him to the basement—"
"No! No! I have a family! It's true!" He tries to say again.
"And what makes you think I'd believe you?"
"Because... they held them captive." Says he.
I look at Smyers who nods at my command. She mumbles something very secretively to her team, the tech team and the navigation team.
"Do you have any proof?"
"Y-yes sir, I have a phone in my pocket. Boss, I'm innocent. Please listen to me." He begs.
Snyers takes the phone out from his pocket, unlocking it with ease as she presents it to me.
I find a suspicious chat, right above Ravine's number in the messages. I click it open, an attachment was sent at around 7 am today.
"How am I supposed to believe you that it's your family?" I ask the male.
Meanwhile, Smyers passes me a HDMI pin to insert in the phone.
"You... can call them, sir." He says. Raising an eyebrow up, I connect to a video call while keeping the camera turned around, so it captures Mr. Brown as soon as it connects.
"Honey?" A female's voice was heard.
Wow, that's convenient.
Suddenly, Mr. Brown flies up to his feet and pulls out a gun that was hidden in his boxers. Shit!
Smyers and her team point their guns at Mr. Brown but my eyes burst out of my skull when I see Ravine trapped by him... The gun was held to her head.
"No!" I try to point my gun to him but he pulls her close, she screams.
"Ay!! Don't come forward or I'll blow her head off!" He shouts.
"Brown, calm down! We can talk through this." I was frightened and scared that he might harm her. I wasn't prepared enough, I underestimated my enemy.
Out of the blue, Mr. Brown begins to chuckle as he licks Ravine's jaw. My blood was boiling to the point I wished inevitable death on Mr. Brown. How dare he fuck around with me!?
I've never been so mad at someone in my life. He was laughing and looking down on me, my girlfriend was trapped by him as I couldn't see any openings to shoot that bastard.
Oh, I'm going to drill so many holes in his body with my bullets.
"Mr. Brown, we can talk—"
"No Boss. I don't wanna talk anymore." Saying, he was slowly scooting towards the large window which gives a transparent view of the city from the height.
"I want your girlfriend. Beside my wife, in the bed." He says. I scream in anger at him. How dare he... how dare he...
Something in Ravine just snaps.
She signals me to prepare to fire, she lifts her elbow and blows his nose off along with the gun he held against her. Weakened by her blow, he drops the gun as she escapes from his clutch.
In less than a second, Smyers and I gun down the bastard to shreds.
I had so much anger in me that I kept burying bullets deep into his chest even after his soul's left his body.
Scared out of wits, Ravine lays on the floor and her breathing was ragged.
"Thank god..." I say to the God as I see her unharmed. The tension releases in my body as the team clear the area off.
"Bitches..." I hear her curse. She was frightened and let a few tears out of her eyes.
"Are you okay?" I ask her, sliding next to her on the floor as she sighs and says in the most nonchalant expression ever.
"Yeah, I'm alright. Being with you, I got used to it." She says.
"Good news Boss." Smyers walks in as she says, I look over my shoulder to listen to her.
"He can be saved. His vital organs weren't too seriously damaged."
"Thank god."
"Shit, I missed."
"..."
"...."
Two different expressions come from her and me.
Smyers presses her lips into a tight smile as she walks away without saying anything more.
"Come... let's go home." Saying, I offer my hand for her to take. She gets up while sighing like a grandma as she tells me she wants to go to the church.
"But... why? He's not dead yet." I say my words by fluke as her eyes dug daggers at me. I gulp and apologize almost instantaneously.
"I just want to. Okay?" I shrug my shoulders and say it was fine.
She didn't care if she had Satan's waterfall flowing down her vagina but here we were, at a local Church down the street.
There was literally no one here, except for us.
I was sitting for a whole minute while my girlfriend was praying hard and loud to Jesus.
I was growing timidly homesick, I wanna go home. I wanted to disturb her devotion, I personally believe my childishness will persist forever in me as long as I'm dating an older woman like Ravine. It's just how my mindset works, I have no explanation.
"Ravine...?"
