Concerns
CHARLIE'S POV
I watch my husband in his slumber, he looks so relaxed and unnerved...
"Why couldn't we live a normal life...?" I ask him, to someone who can obviously not answer. As i touch his face, he softly groans and turns his face away from me. Sighing, I conclude that he is indeed in precious slumber, and doesn't want to be disturbed by me.
I head towards the kitchen after brushing my teeth, serving myself a glass of orange juice.
Checking my phone for any messages, I click open Ravine's chat. She holds a cover up and takes a selfie with it. In the background, it appears she and her boyfriend have gone to shopping.
[We're coming over, dummy!]
The text read.
[Cool!]
I text back and she was active. She says she will be here in five minutes, I say okay but inform that Gerroto was still asleep.
"G-good morning... hmm..." I turn my head towards Gerroto, he was rubbing his eyes softly and yawning to release his slumber.
"Good morning, baby. Ravine and Aaron are coming over for a crash. I bet they're bringing over food, so I'm not cooking or ordering anything."
"Okay." He replies. I serve him a glass of orange juice as well.
But I receive a message from someone, someone quite familiar as I sigh and take the phone.
[Please get out of my son's life. It was a mistake that I agreed to your marriage with him. We've found a girl for him, please leave him]
The woman texted.
I close my eyes, rolling them inside and don't show my face to Gerroto as he will question me for my state of irritation.
It was Gerroto's mother who texted me.
Ever since we got married, she's been texting the same thing and my reply was the same as well. To leave her on read.
She was the only one against this marriage. Even his father was happy that we got married and I chose Gerroto as my life partner.
Closing the phone, I sip on my juice while sitting beside my husband in silence.
"Say, Gerroto... do you think someone wants to separate us?" I ask him. He sees the question as something out of the blue, but it wasn't.
"Y-yes..." he says, stuttering.
"Ah, let me get your pills." Saying, I rush to get his pills from the bedroom so he can gulp it with the orange juice. But to my surprise, he catches my wrist and spins me around. I almost crash into him, but balance against the tall counter.
"Baby!" I exclaim in shock.
"L-let me say this. P-people are a-against us because we are gay, r-right?" He asks.
"Baby," I sigh, "Being gay isn't the problem. I can fight them with my bare hands—"
"I'm talking a-about my mom." My eyes widen in shock. He knew all along.
"How'd you..."
"I s-saw your text during our w-wedding day, hmm..." he says. I look deep into his eyes to see if he was telling the truth. So if he did know, why didn't he try to assure me...
Oh.
He's not normal. He doesn't have the cognition to assure me with someone like that. His mom is against us, but that doesn't change the fact that I love him to the end of the world.
"I'm sorry that you had to see it." I say.
"I-I knew mom wouldn't like this. She is f-finding someone for me now, right? I know her." He says proudly as I chuckle.
Should I lie?
"N-no! How can she—"
"Don't lie to me, Charlie. I know my mother. She will do things... I know... I know...hmm." his speech patterns were declining and I insist thatbi get his suppressors as soon as possible.
The door opens as I pass the pills to Gerroto who keeps mumbling to himself.
"Hi boys!~ Are we walking in the middle of something?" Ravine enters with two huge bags of gifts.
"They can't separate us. We love each other. We love each other... hmm... we love each other." I see Ravine's focus shifting to Gerroto.
"Hey, what's he mumbling?" Before Gerroto would speak it out, I distract Ravine who drops the bags on the table and walks closer towards Gerroto.
"Yo! Girl! We're hungry, let's set the plates! He'll come to normal after few minutes right, he took his pills just now."
"Okay, but what was he—"
"Just some personal discussion, haha!" I say. She halts in her place, lifting her hands up and surrendering as she helps her boyfriend arrange the table.
Soon, we were talking and eating the food that they brought over. Gerroto was normal as he joins a little later, serving himself some of the spaghetti and eating it with meatballs.
I look at him, he wasn't look at my direction. I want to talk to him about his mother but... since they're here I cannot talk about things anymore.
"I'll be right back." Saying, I follow Gerroto as he says he needed to shower and get ready.
"Okay!" Ravine yells, sitting on top of her boyfriend as they giggle about something.
"Baby..." I enter the room, closing the door behind me. Gerroto was taking his clothes off in the middle of the room. He closes the curtains, his pants still on as he turns towards me.
"What?" He asks softly before taking his pants off.
"About your mom... are you bothered that she is trying to separate us?" I ask him. I won't beat around the bush anymore, because he's aware now.
"No." He says genuinely.
"Are you sure? She might take a big step at once and I would hate to go against her." I say to him.
"Charlie, she won't do anything bad to us. She will complain about it for a few months but she will be fine. She loves me like her son. She will respect my decisions." He says.
"Are you sure...?" I was sick myself with the amount of times I ask him the same question. My legs walk me towards him, he holds my face in his big hand as I look into his eyes.
"I'm sure." He says softly.
"I love you, baby."
"I love you too, Charlie." And, he kisses my nose before kissing my lips... thereon taking a different trajectory altogether.
