The news
It was a classic, filmy morning for us. We limped our way after the 'dirty' to sleep below a nearby tree for the night. There were four trees acting like pillars for the growing field. One of it had an ants pillar, which we did not dare go even if it was the nearest.
The morning birds and the blooming the sunrise woke me up first. Aaron was completely knocked out.
I admire his side view, he was so handsome. I feel his prickly growing beard as I chuckle and retract my hand.
He was snoring cutely, like a little baby with his mouth slightly ajar. He surely was knocked out from last night. As I squirmed, I disrupted his beauty sleep regrettably.
"Sorry, sorry. Go back—"
"And leave you touching face and all? Nah. I'm awake." I widen my eyes.
Out of the blue, his phone starts ringing in the loudest tone I've ever heard.
"Just a second." I give him space to get up to his knees and take the phone out. He falls back again, this time using my hand as his pillow.
"Hello, Mr. Shay—" He doesn't even complete his greetings when Mr. Shay, as I presumed, cuts him off as he rambles on the phone.
"Sir, we've found John Skiez' location! Come back quickly! Or let me give you the location to where they actually are!" Saying, the man receives a ping on his phone. I couldn't decipher what Mr. Shay said, but it didn't sound half as pretty.
"What's happening?" I ask out of concern.
"They've found uncle John. Shit, what am I doing!?" He rapidly moves his fingers on the device.
"Calm down, calm down." I say in words, afraid of getting on his nerves even more with touching his bare back. He quickly opens a few files while Mr. Shay was speaking on the phone.
"Absurd. Okay, Mr. Shay. Promise me you'll be there by 12 midnight. We will leave from here too." Saying, we quickly begin to leave. Mr. Javed had a slight emotions at our departure, but we couldn't help acknowledge as we were literally running. We promised him to come back, the trip was too good to be true.
In the flight, I see the man in front of me exude pure feelings of anger. I've come to terms with his anger issues now. I couldn't call it a condition which needs medical attention, but his anger was quite often triggered and in the right direction.
It was as though he was planning a thousand techniques to kill his uncle in his mind. I know for sure that betrayal is the worst form to trigger an emotion as bubbly as anger. Uncle John fucked up real bad.
I can say that.
I, who gather my courage sit next to him softly. He had his hand to the chin, breathing quite loudly. Upon me sitting next to him, he slows his breathing. It was a translucent gaze that we share, which doesn't even last a second.
"You want to say something?" I almost flinch. He had a deep voice full of malice.
"N-no. Um... I want to apologize for bringing you all the way to India. Going to Italy from New York was easier." I say to him.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have—" at once, he turns his body to face me. My wide eyes suggested wordlessly that I was scared of him. He closes his eyes to conceal all of his anger, and begins to talk.
"Baby girl, I would never vent my anger on you. And it's fine. I had a great time the past few hours with you. I'm just upset and thinking how I must talk to that betrayer of an uncle." Says Aaron. I smile, accepting his hug. He pulls me yo straddle his thighs and waist as he sat.
"I'm sorry, and thank you for the memories." He says, wiping my hair away to kiss my nape. We stay seated like that for awhile. Until he walks towards the private cabin built at the end and ignoring all the hostesses and crew whom we pass by. He throws me on the bed, removing my spectacles and tackling me to cuddle.
I accept right away, I know he needs my support more than anything.
"Don't start killing people right away. Promise me."
"I promise." Chuckling, he gives his words to me.
The few hours pass by as we reach Italy. We were dressed just fine for an interrogation and meeting with the detectives who've already reached there.
The handler of this investigation, Ms. Tina Smyers was the tall woman I was looking at right now. The hotel which we land in was already brought for the day. It was rich and had not so many visitors or customers. We snatch the opportunity for a few days.
A tall line of men with guns in their hands make a row for us to enter inside. Aaron holds my hand as I was practically running behind his extra long legs. We reach the interior to meet up with Mr. Shay. Ms. Tina Smyers quickly follows us behind after muttering a set of instructions to her highly qualified personnel.
She places her gun in her band behind herself. She wore a harness over her shoulders, extending to the back. Her hair was in a ponytail, and she was at a striking height of 5'10. I was shamelessly staring at her height while the men gathered for intel.
Aaron kept me close and involved, I tried my best to keep my vision on the LED lit up screen but Ms. Smyers was a great source of distraction.
She even catches me staring at her in awe. I felt so embarrassed.
"John Skiez as per intel was staying at this," She points her Red dot of a light on the screen to point at a bald man, "Was staying at a strip club with his two kids for three days straight. What comes into picture is that," She continues to the next picture on the screen.
"He is waiting for someone here. We need to find out who is he. Apparently, the man turns out to be gay." I raise an eyebrow. Aaron and I exchange disgusted glances because he already had a dead wife. What could change a man so easily?
Of course.
The lust for money.
"Gay?"
"That's our suspicion. However, we have a guest who is very familiar and has went to his strip club several times for fame and fun.
The guards move aside, revealing two men...
Whom I definitely know like the back of my hand.
"Charlie and Gerroto!?"
