PARALIZED THREATS
“If we have an understanding, then please excuse me. I will have to go ahead. Gia? I am starting the paperwork immediately. I will inform you ASAP when we can present the matter to the court.” The attorney said this with a smile to Gia.
“Excuse me for a second, attorney.” The officer called.
Everyone turned to the restless man. “Yes, general?” The attorney retorted.
Ahem! “I just want to know how long this case will take. What actually happens?”
Sha? He really did not know? Well, he was not a lawyer, surely, but that was so dumb of him as a police officer. And a general in that case.
“Well, I won't take much time preparing the documents, although I cannot tell how much time exactly I will take. About the case, I think this will be a swift one since Ejay is dead and they are his only relatives. There is nothing to drag this.” The general explained briefly.
The general failed to breathe for a long time. He was having a hard time battling with the rising heat within him that conjured a cold drip of sweat down her face. He was struggling to say something, but his mouth was barren; no word came out.
“Are you feeling alright, General? You don’t look too well." Grace asked, while Gia basked in the glee of watching the general swim in confusion, worry, and anger.
“Yees. Of course, yes. What does not look okay with you, huh? Do I look sick or something?” The man shoots back.
“No. I was just concerned.” Grace said, stepping back to evade the furious man’s wrath.
"Be more concerned about ourselves and these dreary paths you are treading on! I am perfectly fine!” The general fumed, then he took a deep breath to calm himself down as he looked at the attorney.”You can go ahead; I need to have a word with these two.” He ordered.
The attorney looked at Gia, sending a memo asking whether they were safe. Gia was confident. She nodded her head, and the attorney walked out.
The General and Gia faced each other, their confrontation rife with tension and an undercurrent of intimidation. The general's stern gaze bore into Gia as he spoke, his voice a chilling whisper of authority.
"Ms. Gia, I urge you to reconsider your involvement in police matters," the general began, his tone measured yet laced with an implicit warning. "Your pursuit of Ejay's wealth and your insistence on stirring into police affairs will only lead you to trouble. Stop this madness!"
Gia squared her shoulders, meeting the general's gaze with unwavering resolve. "I've seen what I've seen. I won't be intimidated or silenced by you or anyone. And you meet that Ejay, or is it his ghost that is tormenting me? Give him my message: I am stronger and wiser than before. I will not be shaken by anything."
The general's façade of composure remained steadfast, yet a trace of menace lingered in his words. "You've seen nothing, Ms. Gia. And if you persist in meddling where you don't belong, you will find yourself witnessing far worse."
Gia's jaw tightened, her determination unyielding despite the ominous warning. "I won't stand down. I will uncover the truth, regardless of any threats."
The room felt charged with an unspoken tension, a silent standoff between Gia's unwavering resolve and the general's veiled threats. His attempt to dissuade her from delving deeper into Ejay's affairs and the police matters hung heavy in the air, a stark reminder of the risks involved in her relentless pursuit of the truth.
As the confrontation came to an uneasy pause, Gia left the room, her resolve unshaken by the general's warnings. His attempts to intimidate her only strengthened her determination to unravel the elusive secrets buried within Ejay's mysterious disappearance and the murky dealings that entangled her path with the enigmatic general.
Gia stood in the general's office, her voice trembling with a mix of frustration and desperation as she faced the imposing figure before her.
Gia: "You keep trying to push me away from Ejay's case, but I've suffered the most because of it! Lives were lost in this fight, lives that I blame myself for."
The general regarded her with a cool detachment, his expression unreadable.
General: "Ms. Gia, your involvement in this matter is unnecessary. Your emotional attachment clouds your judgment. Let me handle this case. Everything was fine until you allowed your illusions to drive you wild, and this will not end well for you."
Gia's frustration boiled over, her voice rising in defiance. "Unnecessary? I have been knee-deep in this mess from the start! I have witnessed the chaos and the pain. People died because of my pursuit of justice, right under my watch! I have every right to be involved in Ejay's case in every aspect!"
The general's tone remained resolute, unmoved by Gia's emotional plea. "Rights or not, your emotional involvement poses a risk. Your actions have already caused enough damage. Do you want to arouse the people’s terror by telling them that Ejay is alive?"
Gia's eyes blazed with intensity, her fists clenched in frustration."People deserve the truth. Don’t even try to blackmail me with that. I won't be dismissed! I'm determined to set things right and bring closure to the lives lost because of this! I won't back down until I find the truth!"
The tension in the room crackled as the general and Gia stood at an impasse, their conflicting perspectives clashing in a battle of wills. Gia's fervent determination to seek justice clashed with the general's reluctance to involve her further, creating a volatile atmosphere tinged with unresolved emotions and the weight of the lives lost in the pursuit of truth.
Gia stood in the dimly lit room, facing the general with a mix of frustration and determination etched on her face. The air crackled with tension as they engaged in a heated exchange that seemed to define the culmination of their confrontation.
"You can't scare me away with your warnings. I know there's something you're hiding about Ejay, and I won't stop until I uncover the truth." Gia added.
The general's expression remained stoic, his tone laced with warning as he spoke. "You're treading on dangerous ground, Ms. Gia. This isn't a game. There are things beyond your understanding at play here."
Gia's voice rose, fueled by defiance and an unwavering determination. "I'm not afraid of you or your threats. You are not above the law, and I won't let you manipulate this situation! I will do what I deem right."
The general's gaze turned steely, his warning more pronounced. "You are pushing boundaries you don't comprehend. There are consequences for crossing lines you shouldn't."
Gia matched his intensity, her words dripping with resolve. "I am ready to face whatever consequences come my way. I won't stand by while you conceal the truth and manipulate the system."
