Rescued

Fifty kilometres from the city, S’bu and seventy armed Jobe man had an old factory surrounded. They were patiently waiting for Black Widow to give them a signal that the cameras were disabled. S’bu noticed a familiar figure walking towards them.

“Jobe, please forgive me” he said dropping on his knees.

In a split second, S’bu fell backwards and pressed on his bleeding nose. Menzi had punched him very hard on his nose.

“Can you two do this later after we have rescued my brother” Zake said irritated.

“Now we are even” Menzi said, offering his hand to S’bu pulling him to his feet.

“Brother!” S’bu said hugging him.

“Don’t stain my shirt with your blood, you idiot!” exclaimed Menzi, hugging S’bu tighter.

“The Black Widow has given the signal, can we go now or do you still want to kiss and make up?” Zake asked sarcastically.

Vusi aka Sivu was going outside to check the reason his cameras were going off when he met a flood of bullets, killing him instantly. Inside, Mr J and G were chained to the floor.

“Remind me to train Jobe women for this, you are all useless. An Amy of seventy two men took eight months to find us just fifty kilometres from the city” Mr J said unimpressed.

“Dad!” S’bu said emotional.

“Don’t Dad me, you forgot everything I thought you and you destroyed the whole family” Mr J said angrily. “That freak showed us everything you did, I have never been so ashamed to call you my son” he said disgusted.

“I will unite the family again, I promise” S’bu said.

“What about Thandi, Amahle and Sipho? Why on earth would they ever want to be part of this family? It was your responsibility to protect them, what did you do?” Mr J asked furious.

“I will fix this, I promise that I will not rest until they are back home” S’bu said.

“Dad, please don’t be so hard on S’bu. We have always known that Thandi was his weakness. They did their homework very well. Jane or should I say Pretty, fooled me too” Menzi said defending S’bu.

“You shut up, didn’t you suffer because of him?” Mr J asked angrily.

“You thought us from a young age that family will fight and hurt each other, but we must always make up. Those were your words” Menzi said.

“Jobe, we agree that S’bu has messed up. We all did because we were all around, this happened under our watch. This can not be easy on him. He needs our support now more than ever” Zake said, trying to calm his brother down.

“Let’s just go home” Mr J said, walking outside.

In the Jobe home, Mrs J, Mandy, Jane and Cindy were planning Jane and Sbu’s wedding.

“I don’t know why S’bu refuses to divorce that whore” Mrs J said.

“Auntie Lungi was right, Thandi must have given S’bu a love portion” Mandy said.

“Thandi has a way of fooling man, to this day Tsepo still thinks she is innocent. I had to threaten to divorce for him to stay away from her” Cindy said. The four women were still scolding Thandi and calling her names when Mr J, G, S’bu and a Menzi walked in.

“Daddy!” Mandy jumped up and ran to embrace her Father followed by Mrs J. Mr J was holding Mandy and Mrs J in his arms when S’bu noticed Jane trying to sneak out.

“I have a surprise for you” S’bu said handing a wrapped box to Jane.

Jane opened the box and screamed in horror. Inside the box was Sivu’s head.

“What’s going on?” Mrs J asked puzzled.

“Jane or should I say Pretty here will explain this better.”

“Pretty?” Mandy and Cindy asked at the same time.

“Pretty had plastic surgery and came back as Jane. Sivu, her lover who abducted and almost raped Thandi also had plastic surgery and came back as Jane’s brother, Vusi” S’bu explained. “Sivu is the one that created the video and photos of Thandi and Menzi. It was all part of their revenge against me.”

Pretty started laughing, she laughed so hard, tears rolling down her cheeks, she looked like a crazy person.

“Thandi was your friend and has never done anything to hurt you, why would you do this?” S’bu asked.

“I was a naive girl who had a crush on you. All I ever wanted was to be your girlfriend but you only wanted her. You told the whole world that I was a prostitute. Do you know what happens to a girl once she’s labelled a prostitute? Any man can just force themselves on you and no one believes you because you are already known as a prostitute. Only Sivu understood the hatred I had for you. When he came out of prison, his family wanted nothing to do with him and no company wanted to hire him. We had to make you pay for what you did to us. You thought you were untouchable but you were wrong. You paid for everything we used to hurt you. The plastic surgery, the software we used to make the videos and photos and the money we used to buy that factory we kept your Father in. I don’t care what you do to me but you will never be happy again. Thandi will never forgive you for betraying her like you did. You will die miserable” she said laughing.

“Your plan was for me to divorce Thandi and marry you so that you can kill me, inherit everything and live happily ever after with Sivu. I’m afraid you failed your mission” S’bu sneered.

“The police are on their way, imagine what will happen in prison. I hear prison wardens love prostitutes” Menzi said disgusted.

The following day, everyone was talking about Pretty and Sivu and everything they did. Many people were retracting their statements and apologising to Thandi and Menzi for the things they said about them. The Jobe’s and Dlamini’s released a statement apologising to both Thandi and Menzi. They also announced that they will have a ceremony to formally apologise and welcome them back to the family. Menzi acknowledged the apology from everyone but no one heard anything from Thandi. S’bu hardly slept at night. He was haunted by everything he had done to his family. What made him more uneasy was that no one knew where Thandi, Amahle and Sipho were. Even Black Widow could not trace them. The last time their devices were on was the day he told them to move out of the mansion.
