Chapter 24
Thea's Point of View
“Ahhh! Oh my goodness! Mason!”
She cried with fear as a result of what I did. She was terrified by the way I hurled the things I could see and covered both of her ears.
When the door banged open, Mason glanced at us with furious and worried eyes. He raced up and checked to see whether his mother had a cut on her hand or arm. He then embraced her and kissed her head as if assuring her.
When Aunt Joana calmed down, he gave me a stern, penetrating gaze. And without second thought, he shoved me up against the wall.
"What the hell is your problem?!"
I yanked his hand away from my shoulder, where it was gripping and pushing.
When I pulled it off, I grumbled in my mind. Mason's grasp seemed to be overly firm, which may be unpleasant. In other areas, his fingers were similarly twisted and rough.
As I answered, I gave him a stronger, sharper gaze and gritted my teeth in rage. “You? What precisely are you doing?"
I can't believe what they had done that I stared at them with disdain. I appreciated how Mason was concerned about the firm while having to cope with an inheritance. What I couldn't understand is why they have taken advantage of me and they use my accident to their own benefit.
I returned my eyes to Aunt Joana while Mason stared at me before I continued.
“No. Everyone! What exactly are you doing? You're telling me lies? Trying to dupe me into a bad marriage? And play me like a fool!" I continued walking, cynically laughing as if something were piercing me in the heart. "You guys managed to persuade me to believe every lie you uttered. Don't you think it's terrible?"
My last words were painful. My heart felt like it was frozen. I can't take it since a dagger was buried.
Mason didn't say anything, but he didn't take his gaze away from me.
When everyone was quiet, I touched my garments as if they were infected with a virus. I shifted the bag's strap over my shoulder and took a step forward.
I talked again when I had passed Mason's spot. It was so loud that we could all hear it.
"I'll make sure you're sorry for what you did to me. I'll show you how you're wrong to treat me this way." When I glanced at Aunt Joana, I pretended to be brave and walked out to that room.
"Ms. Thea, we've replaced the picture," the head maid said as I walked downstairs. She took a step back and pointed at the photo.
My parents' photo has reappeared. I didn't smile at her since it seemed weird and artificial, but I did thank her with both hands.
"Thank you for remaining even though my parents have already died." I also glanced at a few maids. "I also admire everyone. I'm hoping you can assist me with one more thing."
"Yes?" She bowed and waited for me to instruct her.
As Aunt Joana and Mason stepped downstairs, I gave them a death stare and screamed, "Remove their things to my parents' room and kick them out of here. I don't want them to remain here any longer!"
"How could you?" Mason screamed back.
He attempted to approach me and punch me, but my attendants stopped him. I watched Aunt Joana and Mason as they were shoved out the gate and their belongings were strewn everywhere. Their portrait had been shattered, and Mason's face had some footprints on it. How amusing.
"You skank, you're going to pay for this!" Before they packed their belongings and went, Mason warned me.
After that, I bid my goodbyes to the maids. The driver had already driven me back too.
When we arrived, I saw a white Raptor vehicle parked at the entrance. It's Craig's car and it remained parked.
As I stepped in, I could hear people laughing in the kitchen. The voice I could hear was sweet and charming, it's from a woman.
When I was going to look to see who it was, someone blocked my way and showed her mocking expression again.
I seemed to have no energy because I didn't want to hear the insults she was going to hurl at me.
It's Mommy Lily.
"You can hear them, don't you? Why would you bother them?"
She gave me a strange grin. She isn't wearing much makeup or jewellery right now, but she is dressed professionally in black office slacks and a yellow long-sleeved blouse that fits a touch snug around her tummy.
“Bother? Who?”
I knew who she was referring to but I pretended I didn't know so she wouldn't start a fight. However, I was wrong, it seemed to trigger her more.
"Craig did not go to work today, and his main purpose is to see his ex-girlfriend again."
Is there still someone left to add to ruin my day? I'm tired of Mason and Aunt Joana, and now Mommy Lily again? I could help but sigh.
As I was busy with mommy Lily, I heard the laughter got louder. I want to rest but it seems like someone is still trying to test my patience.
I stared at her with my bored eyes and spoke, "Craig and I, as far as I know, are still living here. He and I can both allow anybody in. Every single inch of this home is mine. I can go anywhere I choose. So you don't have the authority to prevent me from entering my home."
I didn't have time to listen to what she had to say. Yes, she gave me the truth, but it wasn't enough for her to criticise me.
I turned away from her and began going into the kitchen. She pursued me and attempted to stop me
As I finally entered, two individuals burst through the door just as mommy Lily was going to grasp my arm.
Felicity was pursuing Craig while my husband grabbed her hand, preventing her from icing his face.
What a beautiful sight!
