A week had passed and Irma had really made her point, she no longer spoke to me when we crossed paths, she acted as if she didn't see me and it hurt me terribly to see that she was putting a man between us and letting him come between us.
Yesterday dad told me that I would be going to live with this supposed husband in the US. I understand now where the problem came from, Irma had always dreamed of going there and now with this marriage she would have had the opportunity to go there and I stole it from her without realizing it, I understand her, sometimes life is really unfair, what we want we don't get, what we don't want is given to us with ease, but still, everything we want is not always good for us, but we humans don't see it, we don't understand it, because it is hard to accept.
I was still thinking about it when my mother came into my room and sat down next to me
She: Dina..
Me: mom
She: your father sent me to tell you that in exactly two days you will go to your husband in his country.
Me: uh my husband?? what husband mom??? do you know him? have you ever seen him?
She: Yes, my child, I have already seen him, he is a good person, he likes you very much
Me: well, how do you know?
Her: I just know it from the way he talks about you
Me: ok! but I don't want to go Irma couldn't she go in my place? Mom: this marriage thing is creating tension, problems between Irma and me, and I don't want that.
She: I know it, I guessed it, but don't worry about it. Everyone has a destiny, Dina, and this one is not for Irma but for you and you alone, since you were a child you had to face many problems and in the end life brought you a little, maybe even a lot of happiness. Dina, you have always trusted God blindly, haven't you? So ask him in some way, he will tell you what is good, I'm sure.
Me: and how he will tell me "MY DAUGHTER WILL MAKE YOU HAPPY PROMIS" uh it's not possible mom I say laughing.
She: stop it, you're stupid she says laughing
Me: uh but you know mom I would have liked to have a job, I could have bought you a car, maybe even a house
Her: it doesn't matter, it's the intention that counts.
Me: do you think that this man could let me continue my studies if I ask him?
She: yes, I'm sure he's a very nice man, you'll see.
Me: uh so I would leave you in two days?
she just shook her head
Me: cool. And will Irma come with me? I mean to stay with me?
She: no. She will just come for the wedding and then come back here to Senegal.
Me: Oh okay.
Her: don't react like that, don't be sad.
Me: I'm not, mom, I promise
She: there, now give me a smile.
I smile softly at her and she leaves my room.

I was back in my country in my city Seattle and the job already wanted to kill me I had so much work lately that I forgot this story of marriage. aaaaah my little Dina when I think that in just two days she will come here and that after our lives will be united it makes me happy, well partially because I know deep down that it will also be her entry in a silent suffering because I will not be able to bring to her, to give her this love and this affection which she will want, which she will need.
Dina is a wonderful young woman I know, I felt it immediately when I spied her at her parents' home, she would be a good wife, a good mother, a good confidante, a pillar, I really like her or rather I really appreciate her my clown. But I won't be able to leave her to someone else, I don't want her to make someone else happy, I couldn't bear it, although I'm not able to give her a family unfortunately.
?: knock knock there is someone
Me: oh Amir it's you
it was Amir he came with me when I returned
Him: what do you think?
Me: Dina
Him: ah! buddy you are super in love with this girl
Me: uh I won't say that I just like her......beaucoup.......beaucoup......beaucoup
Him: a lot. You know, if it wasn't you, it would have been me, it's true that this girl is very interesting.
Me: what?
Him: ah! ah! I was joking
Me: fortunately for you
Him: I'm laughing my head off you could have killed me
Me: yes I could have, don't put your eyes on her, do you understand me?
Him: Yes, boss. Well, I invite you to lunch, shall we go?
Me: yes, let's go
