Meet again
"What's the matter?" Steven asked Tony when the car suddenly stopped.
"I think the tire is flat, Sir. Wait a minute and let me see." He hurried out of the car and did not wait for the young boss to say anything.
Steven just opened the car window and watched Tony going to the back of the car. When he looked at a tire in the back, it was indeed flat. He looked at his wristwatch, if they stayed there longer, he would be late for his destination.
"Sir, I'm sorry about the problem. I don't know why the tire got a hole. Maybe it's better that you call someone you know around here to ask for help for your safety. I'll stay here until the mechanic I called arrives."
Steven understood the gentleman and he was not angry with him. The place where they are now is not safe for him. He was about to dial the number of a friend who was also on the site he was going to when suddenly a car stopped near them.
Nicole rolled down the car window and stuck her head out there. "Do you need help, Mister?"
Steven stared into the woman's face. She was wearing sunglasses, so he couldn’t see her eyes. The large glasses is suitable for her heart-shaped face. He stared at her red lips as she smiled at Tony. Perhaps she felt his gaze on her so she turned her attention to him.
"Hi!" Nicole waved at the young man who looks at her with a face of formality. "Do you want me to give you a ride if you're in a hurry?" She offered to him.
Steven's forehead furrowed even more as he stared at the woman's face. She is in a car that he knows how expensive, so he thinks she's not someone helping with a bad motive. But he didn't like her act of helping. The place is secluded and apart from that, she is a female. She was very kind to strangers and not just that, they were men. What if he wasn’t the one she found to help?
"Looks like your boss doesn't want to ride in another car, Mister." She said in a loud voice when the young man's mouth remained shut.
Tony quickly approached his boss after talking to the woman. "Sir, she's also going to the place you're going. Would you mind going with her so you won't be late?"
Steven glanced again at the watch he was wearing. What he dislikes the most is to be late for a meeting or wherever he goes, even if he is the boss. He quickly removed the seatbelt and got out of the car.
"Call me when you're done here."
"Yes, Sir!" Tony quickly turned around in the woman's car and opened the door for Steven. He even saluted the woman and thanked her for her kindness.
When Nicole's car started, Tony turned around and grinned. Nicole's first plan was a success.
"How much do you want me to pay for your service?" Steven asked the woman and quickly averted his gaze from her white legs.
"Do your car always have something wrong?"
"What?" confused, he returned the question to the woman. His forehead furrowed again because he felt something strange every time he stared at her lips.
“You seem to be used to paying instead of thanking first,” she said meaningfully as her eyes remained focused on the front.
Steven could not immediately answer the woman. She seemed offended by his question, but her face and voice remained calm.
"You? Do you offer a free ride to whoever you see with a damaged car on a road?"
It was Nicole's turn to be stunned by the young man's question. She glanced at him for a moment and smiled. "I know how to tell if a person is good or bad. But it looks like this time I made a mistake."
Steven averted his eyes from the woman before speaking. "Well, this is the first time I've encountered a problem with my car in a dangerous place. Pardon me if I was rude, but I don't have any other meaning to my first question earlier."
The smile on Nicole's lips widened when she felt that the person she was talking to felt uncomfortable.
"What's funny?" Steven frowned when he noticed the woman's smile.
"Nothing," Nicole said, but the smile was still on her lips. "Because you're so serious, I just don't like silence so random things come out of my mouth."
Steven carefully examined the woman's face. Her eyes are still covered by the sunglasses. As he stared at her red lips, he observed himself. There is something strange in his manhood that confuses him.
"My driver told me we're going on the same way?" he asked the woman after a sudden silence around them.
"Ahm, yes. I'm going to the land owned by my father."
"I see. By the way, my name is Steven Scout." He introduced himself to her when he remembered that he did not know her name yet.
Nicole parked the car to one side before facing the young man. "You can call me Ms. Twartz."
Steven thought for a moment and was familiar with the woman's name. "Nice to meet you and thank you for the free ride!"
"I didn't expect to hear that. I thought you didn't know the word 'thank you.'" She jokingly replied to the young man.
Steven's forehead furrowed slightly and he didn't speak anymore. When he got out of the car, he left without looking back.
Nicole grinned as her gaze followed the young man's back. "You still haven't changed. But I know I can change that expression on your face, soon!" she determinedly whispered to herself.
She had caught earlier how the young man stared at her, especially at her lips and legs. She had a strong feeling that he was getting to know her. The smile on her lips widened as she remembered the night something happened between the two of them. She couldn't forget how he would rub her thighs and lips. It was as if he was willing to worship her and was unable to restrain himself from claiming her over and over again.
When Steven entered the small office of an engineer friend, he was immediately greeted by him.
"Good morning!" Josh greeted Steven and shook hands with him.
"Am I late?" Steven asked the friend with a formal tone as he looked around.
"You were just right in time, Sir, and you came first. The landowner's daughter is still not here." Josh replied to the serious young man. In work hours, he addresses him formally.
Steven sat comfortably in an empty seat. He personally went there to convince the landowner to sell him their property that's next to the land he had also bought last year. He wants to expand the building that was about to finish. He chose that place because that town was also slowly developing. He is building a mall there and if he can get the land next to it, he will build a hotel.
"Oh, she's coming!" Josh exclaimed excitedly as he saw the person they were waiting for outside. He had met her yesterday, but only through a video call. And he can say she's more beautiful in person even if she’s still wearing big sunglasses.
Steven looked at the person Josh was looking at. He made a more formal face when he saw the woman. Why didn't he think this was the person he needed to talk to? If he had only remembered her name earlier, they would have gone there together. He suddenly felt annoyed when Josh welcomed the woman just at the door.
"Good morning, Miss Twartz! Finally, nice to meet you in person!" Josh's face was full of admiration for the woman.
Nicole smiled at the young man and accepted his handshake offer. The man was also handsome and muscular. "Nice to meet you too, Mr. Josh Alcante."
Steven cleared his throat when he saw that his friend did not want to let go of the woman's hand.
Nicole looked surprised at the young man. She slowly removed her glasses and stared at him. She wore a contact lens to change the color of her eyes. Her long eyelashes are curled, which she didn't do before. Somehow, there was a change in her face, so she knew he wouldn't think that she was really the Nicole years ago.
Steven gritted his teeth and his adam's apple moved slightly as he looked directly into the woman's eyes. If he just didn't know that his daughter's mother was already dead, he would think she was that woman.
Josh quickly introduced the two to each other.
"I know her already," Steven interrupted his attempt to introduce him and the woman to each other.
"Really?" Josh's gaze shifted to the two.
Nicole smiled at Josh again and nodded. "We met earlier and his car got a problem."
"I'm sorry if I didn't recognize you earlier." Steven stood up and shook her hand again. He had to convince her to get what he wanted.
"It's okay! I'm not famous or something for someone like you to know." She gave a modest smile to the young man. "By the way, nice to meet you again!"
Steven had not been able to shake hands with the woman before, now he had to do that. But he also quickly withdrew his hand when their palms met. He knit his brows again and looked at the woman.
Nicole turned her attention to Josh. She knew the warmth her palm brought to the young man was familiar to him. She had to avoid physical contact with him so that she wouldn't arouse suspicion.
"I don't want to beat around the bush, the land you want to buy has sentimental value to my family so I won't just sell it." Nicole's statement was serious and frank.
"So, what do you want?" Steven asked directly. He didn’t like how she started their topic.
"I heard you're looking for a partner. I want to invest so that somehow we still have a share in our land."
Steven's bad feelings for the woman subsided when he heard what she wanted to happen. "Is that all?"
Nicole handed her profile to Steven so he could check her status or ability.
"Nicole Twartz," Steven read the woman's name. He snickered inwardly, even the woman's name is the same as that of the mother of his daughter.
Apart from her status of achievement from Canada, there is no other info. He felt disappointed because it was not stated whether she was single or married. Steven quickly rebuked himself for having such thoughts. He looked back at the woman's face. She really looked like the woman he knew. Maybe that's why she had unusual effects on him.
"I want to design the building myself."
Steven's gaze shifted to Josh. He nodded in agreement. It seems that he has a lot of confidence in the woman besides admiring her beauty.
"Let me check a work of yours first."
The corner of Nicole's lip twitched. She no longer wonders why he is such a successful one in the field of business. She had made a design for the building and now is the time to use it. She handed the young man her work.
Steven carefully reviewed her sketch work. Josh took a peek and was so wowed when he saw that.
"This is amazing!" Josh exclaimed, he couldn't take his eyes off the sketch.
Steven looked up emotionlessly and looked back at the woman. He made sure there is no emotion that could be read in his eyes. "You did a great job! I am honored to have you as a partner. From now on, I will leave everything to you and Mr. Alcante. I will look forward to your visit to my office tomorrow."
With a wide smile, Nicole shook hands with the young man again. Ignoring the seemingly little electricity that flowed through her from the young man's palm. She was excited to see the reaction on Danica's face when they meet again.
She can't immediately admit that she is the Nicole they know. She will let Danica take action and look for Soledad to confirm if she is really dead. She knew Soledad was the key so she could find her third child. She did not believe that the child they took to the hospital was dead already. She had promised before to take the children back and now she will work on it.
