It must have been several hours, because it was getting darker and darker and my stomach kept making loud growls.
I put the headphones back in my backpack some time ago because the battery in my player had given up the ghost. There was only me, the darkness that was taking over more and more and the creepy sounds of the forest, which made me examine my surroundings again and again in a fright.
I sat down exhausted on a tree trunk and put the backpack down next to me. I felt so stupid doing it. My whole life has been shaped by my bad choices. I have so many regrets that I have done, as well as many regrets that I have not done so. But most of all I regretted the snap idea of walking alone through the forest with no prospect of the end.
I let my face fall into my hands in desperation and thought about how to continue. what should i do I couldn't walk back or continue, it was now too dark for that and I was too hungry. I got up thoughtfully and explored my surroundings as best I could in this darkness.
I decided to just spend the night here and prayed that there weren't any wild animals that would attack me in my sleep. Fearful of being eaten, I opened my backpack and pulled on a second black sweater. I was of the opinion that an animal could not see me so well and he also warmed me.
I lowered myself to the ground and leaned my back against the tree trunk before closing my eyes and getting some sleep. But none. As soon as I closed my eyes, I only heard noises that scared me to death. Rustling leaves, the wind blowing through the trees and a sound like a large animal breathing in and out. I quickly jumped up and tried to see something in the black that surrounded me. But there was nothing.
"I'm going to die here," I told myself, carefully sitting down on the log, ready to stand up should I need to defend myself.
I had never felt so lonely, abandoned and desperate before and no matter how crappy my life seemed before, I would have given anything to get out of this situation safely. But no matter how much I wished for it, as soon as I opened my eyes, I was again sitting alone on the tree trunk in the dark.
I let myself slide down so that I was sitting with my buttocks on the cold forest floor and to my displeasure, it also started to rain like cats and dogs.
So there I sat and thought about my death. I had never experienced love. I had never kissed a man before, never felt truly free and tonight would be my last, or so I thought.
I wondered for a moment whether I was going to starve miserably or freeze to death from the cold and before I could finish this cruel thought, I heard a loud rustling right behind me.
It wasn't far away and I sat motionless. I was unable to breathe or do anything for a second, but then I pulled myself together and just ran straight ahead. Far far from the sound and without turning around.
Small branches hit me painfully in the face and suddenly I caught my foot on something, fell over and only saw black.
My head hurt unbelievably and I had a hard time opening my eyes. It was so incredibly warm that beads of sweat formed on my forehead and as I slowly took in my surroundings, I realized that someone must have found me.
I sat up and looked straight at a light wooden door that was closed. The walls were painted white and clothes were lying around everywhere. I saw lots of bras and tops on the floor and on the wooden dresser that was right by the door. Either a messy woman lived here who seemed to have a fashion show every day, or a serial killer who had already brought a lot of women here.
I carefully got out of bed and was shocked to find that I was only wearing my bra and underwear. Shaking and horrified, I snatched the dark blue woolen blanket and murmured into it up to my neck.
My eyes then fell on the window above the bed, which gave me a view of the rain that never seemed to stop. I turned my back to the window and wanted to open the door, but was shocked to find that it was locked. I shook her and pulled as hard as I could, but I didn't stand a chance.
I ran back to the bed in a panic and knelt down on it, only to yank at the window with trembling hands, but a small lock let me guess that I wouldn't be able to get out of here either. When I suddenly heard a key being inserted into the lock on the door behind me, I caught my breath and dropped to the floor, then rolled under the bed.
Surrounded by bras, I lay under the dusty bed and closed my eyes while also holding my breath. How could I get into such a situation?
"Come on out there," came the voice of the one who had probably found me in the forest and to my amazement, I knew that stupid voice too well, which made me angry.
I rolled out of bed and bravely got up, but it was just embarrassing because I was so excited I didn't have the wool blanket on anymore and just stood there in my underwear with dust sticking all over my sweating body and the overall picture of one err covered.
Jayden was leaning against the door and of course his black hair was perfect while his stupid grin was driving me mad with anger. "Have you lost your mind locking me in here?" I hissed at him, grabbing the blanket again to wrap myself in it.
"So you can't even say thank you?" He took a step toward me and I could smell the smell of a harsh perfume off his dark blue shirt while he twirled the dust out of my hair in amusement.
"It's best if you take a shower. I'll show you the bathroom," he then decided, but I shook my head. "No. Definitely not. I'll take my clothes and then you can take me home!" I avoided his ice blue eyes and searched the room for the whereabouts of my backpack, but Jayden grabbed my waist, threw me over his shoulder again and ran out of the room.
He either couldn't accept a no, or he liked to provoke the female sex, but I already knew from last time that there was no point in fighting back. I was also a little afraid of being bitten again, which I wanted to avoid at all costs.
I just saw the living room I was familiar with and he parked me in front of another door. "Your backpack is in there. Wash yourself and get dressed." His voice sounded like a commanding tone, which I didn't like at all, but I nodded quickly and put my hand on the door handle, wanting to get away from him and his fucking attraction.
Before I could turn the handle, he took my chin and turned my face to his so that our lips were only a few millimeters apart. It sent goosebumps down my arms to feel his breath so close to my skin while our eyes blurred into each other. "Unless you want me to accompany you to the shower?"
That's it. Luckily he was so stupid that I didn't have a chance to fall for him. I yanked my chin out of his hand and glared at him, ignoring his stupid grin, then ducked into the bathroom and slammed the door.
I stood there for a moment with my eyes on the door, waiting to hear his footsteps receding, and only then did I turn and survey my surroundings.
It was a fairly small bathroom, and here, too, there were women's items everywhere. Whether shampoo or make-up, one could only assume that a woman lived here.
I spotted my backpack under the sink and gratefully took it. I quickly ripped out a pair of jogging pants and a black sweater and laid everything out before I took my clothes off and disappeared into the shower.
It felt so good, the warm water, as if I had been out in the wilderness for weeks, even though it was only one day. I brushed the dirt from my hair and body and turned the water back on. A look at the door and I saw several large towels hanging from it, from which I grabbed the middle one.
It wasn't long before I was toweled off and dressed and ready to tell this idiot that I was going home. Determined, I threw on my backpack and opened the door to see him sitting on the couch smoking.
"You know it's harmful, it stinks like the plague and you can die?" I frowned and added. "But keep smoking."
He laughed at my words and put the glowing cigarette out in an ashtray, which made it smell even more. "Excuse me, Princess. If it bothers you then I'll let it be," he said and got up to come dangerously close to me again. "I don't want you to feel disturbed by this smell when kissing," he breathed and stood right in front of me. My hands were shaking and I clenched my fists to stifle it and smack him when I got a chance, but before the opportunity arrived he had already grabbed it and pinned my hands to the wall behind me to hug me tightly .
My heart was pounding against my chest and I stopped breathing in shock at his proximity. "I don't want to hurt you. You don't need to be afraid," he whispered in my ear, which made me breathe again and take a deep breath. "Says the one who bit me!"
I tried to free my hands from his as he watched me in amusement and then released me. I looked at him confused and then pushed past him towards the front door. "I'm not happy with her as my mate either, but I still don't always run away!"
I stopped a step in front of the front door and turned to him, irritated. He was still standing in the same spot, looking at me sadly, which confused me even more.
"You are just a weak human. Too weak to receive my lineage."
I stared at him in disbelief and clenched my fists again. "First of all, you're a human too, and secondly-" "I'm not a stupid weak human!" he interrupted me, laughing. I frowned in confusion and shook my head. Probably because of his arrogance he thought he was a god or something. "I'm a wolf and not just anyone. I'm the alpha of my pack!"
As he said this, he lifted his chin proudly and looked at me as if I was about to go crazy at what he was telling me. But I slowly realized that it wasn't me who had a psychosis, he did. "I'll be gone then, Mister Wolf!" I winked at him in amusement, turned to the door and was about to turn the handle when I felt his hands on my waist.
"Think of your dreams, Chiara!"
