Chapter 1 Author's Preface

Hello!

Writing this story has been a dream five years in the making. It's evolved with eight rewrites, notebooks full of ideas, and waking up in the middle of the night with an idea that'll fix a plot hole. I have strived to make this story as perfect as possible and I'm finally prepared to share my work!

Anytime anyone has ever asked how my book is going, or if they can read it, or questions you would normally answer, my answer was always the same: that's confidential. I wanted no one to read it until I believed it was perfect and the version you'll see is a long time coming.

This first book is dedicated to many people but most notably I would like to dedicate this draft to my freshman English honors teacher and creative writing club sponsor. Thank you for always encouraging me and my writing. He believed in the healthy coping mechanism of creativity in an environment where coloring inside the lines was the safest route. Thank you for always believing in me.

This book is also available on Wattpad where I got my start and in less than two months I was lucky enough to get over 300 views! Truly crazy knowing this story now occupies minds besides my own and the support and love has been extraordinary. With that being said...
