Chapter 2612 - How To Choose?

On the Demon Slaying Platform, Ye Futian and Yu Sheng had already experienced 48 catastrophes. Today was the day of the final catastrophe.

After today, the Devil Emperor promised to let them go free.

Right now, on the Demon Slaying Platform, both of them were on the verge of collapsing. They appeared extremely frail. Yu Sheng's Demonic Armor was in tatters, and the aura on Ye Futian's body was weak. Their bodies were perforated.

Nearby in the sky above, Donghuang Diyuan quietly watched the two of them.

"Hmm," Yu Sheng replied. Both of them had been through many life-and-death situations. After they made it through this final catastrophe, they would be able to survive.

"Hang in there," Ye Futian whispered.

"Okay." Yu Sheng nodded. After briefly conversing, the two did not continue talking. It was as silent as a grave on the Demon Slaying Platform.

The destructive power continued to trickle down into their bodies. Both Yu Sheng and Ye Futian did not resist it. Or it could be said that they had no energy left to withstand it. They allowed the destructive power to invade and rampage their bodies, corroding their flesh and spiritual souls.

Time passed slowly. In the sky, terrifying crimson light gathered in the eye of the Devil Abyss. Donghuang Diyuan looked in that direction. Even though she was standing away from the Demon Slaying Platform, she was still shocked by the destructive power brewing within the abyss.

The destructive power that gathered seemed capable of eradicating all existences.

Ye Futian and Yu Sheng felt it too. Their bodies squirmed. Divine light and demonic light surrounded them. Both of them mustered up all their strength for this moment. They stood straight up while looking at the sky. Ye Futian chanted the Six Syllables of Truth.

Immediately, a gigantic Buddha appeared on the Demon Slaying Platform and enveloped the entire space, shielding both of them within it.

"You don't have to worry about me," said Yu Sheng. He did not want Ye Futian to waste his energy protecting him.

"Shut up. Stay focused," Ye Futian chided.

Then, he looked at the sky and didn't say more. Yu Sheng stared at him and noticed his determined gaze. He understood that there was no use for him to say anything.

Ye Futian was resolved to protect both of them this time.

The Light of Buddha coalesced while the Buddha that Ye Futian summoned protected the space they were in. The golden Buddha was akin to an eternal and indestructible Buddha.

Many runes surfaced on the body of the Buddha. As the Light of Buddha surrounded it, it transformed into a Thousand Armed Buddha. The arms of the Buddha were ready to send out sword seals.

Donghuang Diyuan narrowed her eyes in shock when she saw this scene. Her gaze was fixed on Ye Futian. He actually planned to attack the Devil Abyss. He was a lunatic.

"He has guts," exclaimed the Devil Emperor as he stood in the sky above the Demon God Palace and observed the happenings on the Demon Slaying Platform. He admired Ye Futian's gallantry. It was a waste that Ye Futian had not become a demonic cultivator.

Rumble. Yu Sheng's dark long hair danced in the wind. They seemed to become the sharpest blades in the world as they were covered by demonic light.

Boom. Boom. Boom. Demons suddenly descended around Yu Sheng and Ye Futian. It was the Heavenly Demon Godly Advent. Yu Sheng himself seemed to have transformed into a domineering demon. He raised his head and looked straight ahead. He wanted to see for himself exactly how powerful this 49th catastrophe was.

Buzz!

Starlight shone all around them. The Constitution of Stars materialized and stood guard all around the Demon Slaying Platform.

Then, Sword Qi weaved to form a razor-sharp shield of swordsmanship.

They had set up many layers of defenses to withstand this final catastrophe.

In the sky, streaks of crimson destructive divine light charged downwards. The next moment, harmful light of catastrophe poured down like the wrath of god. The attack no longer came down one by one; instead, 49 streaks of lightning blasted down simultaneously, destroying everything in their way.

"Kill!" Ye Futian bellowed.

All the arms of the Buddha waved, and the divine swords slashed upwards. At the same time, their palms sent out seals that charged towards the Devil Abyss above.

Almost concurrently, destructive divine light rained down, and the catastrophe befell them. Crimson light of catastrophe flooded the space completely. In the middle of the 49 streaks of lightning, a crimson light pillar descended and tore everything apart.

Instantly, the Demon Slaying Platform was buried in the crimson destructive light of catastrophe. Everything turned to dust and void. It was as though nothing could withstand this ultimate attack.

In the distance, Donghuang Diyuan's heart quivered as she observed the scene. If she was put on the platform, could she survive this destructive attack?

She watched as the light of catastrophe overwhelmed everything on the Demon Slaying Platform, and terrifying storms rampaged all around it.

After a long while, everything dissipated.

Donghuang Diyuan saw the bodies of Ye Futian and Yu Sheng lying on the platform lifelessly. Even their chains were shattered. They lay on the platform quietly with wounds all over their bodies. Blood oozed out from their injuries. It was a tragic scene to behold. Even their auras could not be detected.

Were they dead? Donghuang Diyuan wondered as she looked at them. Her eyes twitched, but she still remained motionless on her spot.

"I have helped Donghuang to eliminate his opponents. What do you think?" a voice asked Donghuang Diyuan.

"Father has never thought of these two juniors as his opponents," Donghuang Diyuan responded. "However, this is Your Highness' decision. I am not qualified to comment on it."

The Devil Emperor did not say anything. Right at this moment, a hint of aura appeared on the Demon Slaying Platform. Life aura could be faintly sensed circulating in Ye Futian's body. On top of that, there seemed to be strands of life current flowing between his body and Yu Sheng's. The two of them were tightly connected through the current, causing the life aura to rejuvenate in Yu Sheng's body.

Were they still alive?

Donghuang Diyuan looked towards the platform. This strand of life aura was like candlelight in the dark. It was a strand of hope. Gradually, the life aura rejuvenated inside of Ye Futian's body. At the same time, Yu Sheng's heartbeat was resuscitated. Donghuang Diyuan felt as though she could hear the intense thumping sound of his heart beating.

The sound of his heartbeat intensified. The life auras of demons, especially powerful demons like Yu Sheng, were indomitable.

When Donghuang Diyuan saw this scene, she asked, "Your Highness, you promised to let them go if they were still alive after 49 catastrophes. Now, what do you plan to do with them?"

"They are lucky," the Devil Emperor said. "Since I have made a promise to them, I will surely keep my word. However, if they continue to stay on the Demon Slaying Platform, their survival is not certain. I will leave them to you."

The Devil Emperor was curious. What would Donghuang Diyuan choose to do with the two of them?
