Epilogue
(5 years later)
The freezing wind blew across the across Swiss Alps, making the environment pleasantly unbearable. The view from the mountains was the most gorgeous scenario that a human on this earth could ever experience. A cable car was seen descending down, with ecstatic tourists relishing the breathtaking view from miles above. Emily sighed, wiping away the tears that had formed across her eyelids, perceiving those enthusiastic tourists through the window and wished she could travel in that cable car with the man she loved.
“Emily,” muttered George Stryker, placing his warm palm on her shoulder. “Take some time off. Go and have a cable car ride,”
“No George,” she affirmed, placing her head on his shoulder. “I will have that cable car ride, but only when he returns to me,”
“Emily, you know that it is quite unlikely right? Even I have given up hope,”
“You may have, George, but I will wait for him till the end of this world,” saying that she moved towards the bed, and retrieved the cell binding serum from the drawer beside the bed. And cautiously, without a single reckless movement, administered it on the forearm of a naked Nathan that lay on the bed—half-dead.
“I know Emily, that you love my son more than anyone in this world, but—“
“But what George!” she snapped, her eyes brimming with tears again which she desperately tried to suppress. “I am young, I have my whole life in front of me I should not waste it here with your son. That’s exactly what you are gonna say right? But who gave me this new life? Who put his life in danger twice to save me from harm’s way….Who gave me this accursed immortality when he could have easily shoved that bloody serum into his own body!” she paused, allowing the tears to flow. “Your son gave me this life George, and whatever I do for him would never even come close to the sacrifice that he made for me that day. So I am not gonna lose hope, if this place doesn’t help him, then I will take him to the coldest place that exists on this earth, but I will bring him back!”
Nathan’s father, who was the greatest alchemist and the maker of the immortality serum, had a faint idea on how to return Nathan’s healing power Since Nathan had possessed the healing powers for a thousand years, his cells possessed the ability to fight the anti-youth serum that Alice had injected in his bloodstream. But in order to activate the ability, he had to be placed in the coldest condition possible. Thus, George and Emily had decided to fly him to the Swiss Alps the day he injected the immortality serum into Emily, and had been residing there since the last five years.
The next morning, George left for work; he had gotten himself a job at a local pharmacy five years ago. And while Emily was getting dressed to go to work (she was a cashier at a nearby supermarket), she perceived something that nearly sucked the life out of her…. Nathan’s bed was empty.
She searched through the house in a ballistic franticness and yelled his name on top of her voice. She was about to call the cops thinking that her love had been abducted, when a her eyes fell on a slim and tall figure standing near her car with his arms stretched; thoroughly enjoying the light of the sun as it emerged gracefully across the ravishing horizon.
The mobile slipped from Emily’s hand and went crashing down. With her eyes widened, she walked towards the figure like a soulless zombie. Approaching the figure, she remained silent and stood a few inches away from him.
“Isn’t the sun absolutely glorious?” whispered Nathan, his arms spread wide, as though absorbing the sun’s nutritional rays. “A mortal despises the sun’s rays…and covers its visage when the burning rays fall on it. But as an immortal, I feel like the sun is the biggest blessing in the world given to all creatures by the almighty lord,” Nathan finished, and turning around he faced Emily, his arms still spread wide, along with a divine smile which glorified his sparkling face.
Emily let out an intense sigh and rushing forward she fell in his arms, and experienced the greatest joy in the entire universe….as her true love had returned.
