Ever since Jiang Huaizhou told Mr. Jiang that he would be bringing Dong Yujie home, Mr. Jiang had been feeling nervous for the entire day.

He cleaned the house first.

He also went to buy some vegetables at the market. He remembered what Dong Yujie liked to eat in the past.

When Mr. Jiang saw Jiang Huaizhou and Dong Yujie standing together, he felt so nervous that his reaction became slower.

"You… you're back," Mr. Jiang said nervously.

He anxiously wiped his hands on the apron. He then realized something and quickly said, "Quick. Come in."

"Dad." Dong Yujie nervously greeted.

Jiang Huaizhou was carrying everything that Dong Yujie had bought.

He saw how awkward it was between Mr. Jiang and Dong Yujie.

Jiang Huaizhou then said, "Dad, Yujie bought these gifts for you. Should I put them in the living room for now?"

"Ah. Alright." Mr. Jiang nodded.

Jiang Huaizhou then carried everything into the living room.

Mr. Jiang didn't dare to look at Dong Yujie.

He felt sorry for Dong Yujie.

"Was there..a traffic jam?" Mr. Jiang asked.

"Yes. There was a traffic jam, so we're late," Dong Yujie said.

"That's alright. That's alright. I expected that there would be a traffic jam, so I didn't start cooking too early., Mr. Jiang said, "That's how it is in B City. The traffic jam is getting worse. Dong Yujie went to the living room to see Jiang Huaizhou. Jiang Huaizhou smiled and said, "How was it? Dad's attitude was not bad, right?"

Dong Yujie let out a sigh of relief and whispered, "Dad doesn't care anymore. At least he won't stop us from dating."

Jiang Huaizhou nodded and smiled.

Mr. Jiang soon came out with a dish of food and placed the dish on the dinner table.

Dong Yujie and Jiang Huaizhou hurriedly went to help.

Mr. Jiang wouldn't let them help initially. However, he eventually succumbed.

The three placed the dishes on the table before they took their seats.

"You're still going to drive tonight, so I'm not going to let you drink," Mr. Jiang said.

Jiang Huaizhou and Dong Yujie were not drinking, but they had juice.

"Let's celebrate Yujie's return tonight. Congratulations to you two for becoming a couple." Mr. Jiang said.

Dong Yujie looked over at Mr. Jiang in surprise.

But she still clinked her glass with Jiang Huaizhou and Mr. Jiang's glasses.

"Try the food." Mr. Jiang said, "My culinary skills have become much better than before."

Mrs. Dong had been the one cooking in the past.

Since the two separated, Mr. Jiang had to take care of himself.

He practiced slowly. Although his culinary skills weren't the best, they were good enough.

"Yujie." After a while, Mr. Jiang said, "I… I know it was because of me that you"

"Not at all." Dong Yujie quickly responded, "I just wanted to travel and get some fresh air. It has nothing to do with you."

"Dad." Dong Yujie called out.

Mr. Jiang then smiled and said, "You should call me Dad. That's good. You don't have to change this term of address."

Dong Yujie felt guilty as she stared at Mr. Jiang.

Mr. Jiang then said, "Don't stare at me with that guilty look. You don't owe me anything. In fact, it was me who had wronged you."

"I had been the useless one, and I valued my reputation more than anything." Mr. Jiang took another big sip of the liquor.

With the help of alcohol, Mr. Jiang said everything that he normally wouldn't have been able to say. "Now that you are back, you two should live a good life together."

"I am not going to be involved in anything. Everything that I tried to control had a bad ending. I had been messing around and causing trouble." Mr. Jiang said, "You two should just live a good life."

Dong Yujie didn't expect to hear these words from Mr. Jiang today.

Even though Mr. Jiang no longer expressed any disapproval of them, she had assumed that he would still hold that opinion.

And she would have to wait for him to process this on his own time.

But she didn't expect Mr. Jiang to accept this completely.

As a result, Dong Yujie no longer felt any stress during this meal.

Mr. Jiang smiled and said, "We should schedule a time to get a meal together with the entire family."

Mr. Jiang froze.

He had no objections.
