Bauer POV

I return to the room where Insanna is preparing to give birth. I managed to find two women that were nurses ten years ago. Something is better than nothing. One other girl tagged along said she had birthed a few cows in her day. Can it really be that different? She was eager to help the woman that set her free. They all want to help Inanna. She deserves their help after she helped them break free from the eleventh-floor hell.

The women go into the room. I wait outside. No way in hell will be in there when that woman starts hurting. I do not want to be there if she decides to bite.

I look in to see how they are progressing. They are working hard to make her comfortable. Jasmine is in complete control. She has a way of taking charge of things. She looks up and sees me. She starts walking to me smiling.

“Hey you,” I say as she walks to me.

Jasmine wraps her arms around me. She presses her lips to mine. Her body is so close to me. I feel as if I could stay in this moment forever. Just being here with her no matter the circumstance. Who finds love in the middle of hell? I guess we do.

“I want us to talk later,” she says.

Inanna begins to scream. The women begin to scramble. “The baby is coming,” I hear one say.

Jasmine perches at Inanna's head to talk her through it. “You are doing great,” Jasmine says.

“Easy for you to say,” Insanna says.

One of the women is in between her legs to catch the baby. The other two hold her legs back. Jasmine helps her sit up.

“This hurts too damn much. I cannot do this. Fuck this shit. I need out of this body,” Inanna says.

“You can do this,” Jasmine says to her.

Jasmine holds Insanna’s hand as she pushes. The girl watching intently as the demigod makes his way into this world.

“We are almost there Inanna. I need you to push with everything you got,” she says.

Inanna begins to push bringing forth a light into the world. Bringing a new demi to this place. What he or she might accomplish. What they might be. It is so exciting to me not so much to her.

With the last push, I see the women all turning their focus to the new baby. Not Jasmine she has plenty of time for that. Let them have that moment. She focuses on Inanna. She wants Insanna to feel loved and adored at this moment.

“You did a great thing,” Jasmine says.

“Yeah well if it burns your house down or levels a city you won’t be thanking me then,” Inanna says.

“Hopefully not,” Jasmine says.

“Jasmine this is a huge task. Prepare yourself for it. This child will need Bauer’s guidance and your love to make it in this world. This child cannot be like his father,” she says.

“I know. Bauer will be there I do not doubt that in my mind. We will be great parents. You can come back anytime and see the little bundle. Do you want to know what it is?” Jasmine says.

“Go Jasmine be with your child,” Insanna says.

Jasmine goes to see what the small bundle is the women are going crazy over. She peers over their shoulder to look. “What is it?” she asks.

“It’s a beautiful baby boy,” they say in unison.

“Bauer come to see him. He is beautiful,” she says.

I start my walk to see this child. This beautiful baby boy I am now tasked with ensuring is a great man. I hope I do not disappoint him or Jasmine.

Jasmine places him in my arms. “He is so tiny,” I say.

A thunderous cloud begins to form over the hotel. I hold the tiny bundle close to me. That is my father. He is coming to see the child.

Jasmine returns to Insanna’s side. “You made the most beautiful baby boy. He is perfect,” She says to her.

“I will heal Chanel’s body and then I will be ready to go,” Insanna says.

“You could stay here with us,” Jasmine says.

“No, I cannot. I have to go on to the next mission. I have to deliver justice. It is my task,” she says.

“Will you come back to see us,” Jasmine asks.

“Oh Jasmine I will check on you, Bauer, and the child from time to time,” she says.

“Rest for a little while. Ka will be ready when you are ready to go,” Jasmine says.

“She doesn’t have to do it. There is a body available for me. I think she wants a purpose. If she needs a purpose I will take her with me,” Insanna says.

“You rest,” Jasmine says.

As Jasmine and I sit with the new baby, the thunderous clouds become closer. We see a bright light start to shine in the distance. It becomes closer and closer until the light is coming into the room we are in.

My father appears before us. “Son, I come to see the child,” he says.

“That is my baby,” Jasmine says.

“Well, not exactly,” he says.

“I am not here to cause any harm. I only came to see who the father is,” he says.

My father leans over and looks at the tiny boy in Bauer’s arms.

“Damn demi. This child belongs to you. That is all I needed to know,” he says.

He is gone as quickly as he came. I look to Jasmine. “Good. I am glad it is not Walker’s child,” she says.

“Jasmine I never slept with Insanna,” he says.

“Yeah but you and Chanel had a wild night,” Jasmine says.

“Do you still want to help me raise him,” I ask her?

“Yes. That is my baby,” Jasmine says.

“Yes, it is,” I say.

“What are we going to name him?” she asks.

“I do not know. I will let you name your son,” I say.

“Michael,” she says.

“Why Michael?” I ask her.

“It is a mighty name. Just like the woman that brought him into this world. We shall call him Michael,” she says.

“Michael it is,” I say.

Jasmine takes him from me. She holds him. She glows as she sings to him. She is happy.
