Epilogue 2

Three Months Pregnant..

"Lou?" Liam stood up from the bed and walked quickly towards the bathroom where his husband run off upon waking up.

"Lou, babe." He approached Louis who is sitting on the tiled floor and was leaning his forehead on the closed-lid commode, sobbing.

Liam sat behind his husband and gently maneuvered Louis on his lap in a straddling position, as he rubbed soothingly on his husband's back.

"Hey, let's brush our teeth, yeah?" He whispered.

Louis just nodded as he buried his face in Liam's chest, sobs had gone quiet now. Liam kissed the top of his husband's head and placed his hands under Louis to lift them up from the floor. He carried Louis and put him on the sink. Liam brushed Louis' teeth before brushing his own. By the time that he was finished, Louis was almost dozing off on the sink.

"Love?" Liam whispered as he pushed away Louis' fringe from his forehead.

"Sleepy.." Louis murmured, forcing his eyes to stay open.

Liam chuckled. "Let's get back to bed, alright?"

Louis nodded and placed his arms around his husband's neck and nuzzled there as Liam placed his arms around Louis again and carried him back to their bedroom. Liam gently laid his husband on the bed and by the second that Louis' head hit the pillow, he was already asleep.

Liam smiled lovingly at his husband and kissed his forehead as their hands both unconsciously went to Louis' pregnant belly. It's been a few months since they got married and Liam had never been this ecstatic before.

A month after their honeymoon, Louis started to experience stomach pains and he kept on vomiting every morning or everytime he smells something that he doesn't like. At first, he just brushed it off although Liam kept on begging him to go to the hospital. Then, after a severe stomach pain that caused Louis to be unconscious while at work, Liam rushed him to the hospital and there, they learned that Louis was pregnant.

Liam and Louis were so happy, as well as their families and friends. Louis was glowing everyday and although Liam was very happy, it's still hard for him to see his husband going through morning sickness.

"Li?" Liam heard Louis murmur as he put the covers over them.

"Yes, love?" Liam asked, laying down beside him.

"Cuddles?" Louis whispered, sleepy eyes looking up to Liam hopefully as he turned to face him.

Liam chuckled. "Of course." He replied as he pecked Louis' lips and cuddled him.

Six Months Pregnant…

"Li... Li-li... Liam!"

Liam opened his eyes and was met with a furious Louis, who is now sitting on the bed. He got a glimpse of the clock and saw that it was just 1 in the a.m.

"Lou, it's still early. Let's go back to sleep."

"But I'm awake!" Louis whined.

"I can see that." Liam teased.

"Liammmm" Louis whined, prolonging the 'm'.

"Louiiiissss" Liam copied.

Louis huffed as he crossed his arms over his chest and turned his back on Liam.

"Lou, babe, are you mad?" Liam asked as he sat up too and touched Louis' shoulder, but Louis swat it away and sniffed. Liam furrowed his eyebrows. "Love, are you crying?"

Louis just sniffed again. "I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to disturb you or trouble you. I know I’m a nuisance to you and you’re probably tired taking care of me and the baby." Louis ranted as he went full on crying.

Liam doesn't know if he should laugh or not. Louis' pregnancy had been giving him mood swings and it's making Liam crazy. He carefully placed his arms around Louis and turned him around to face him. He wiped Louis' tears away with his thumb. "Lou, I love you and our baby so much. I will never, ever think of you as a nuisance alright? That’s not possible. I love you too much. I'm just teasing you. Now tell me what is it that you and baby want."

Louis smiled like a child on Christmas. "Vanilla ice cream. And could you get me some pickles. And gummy bears! And maple syrup. Please?" Louis asked as he looked up at Liam with his puppy face. And who is Liam to say 'no' to that beautiful face?

So even though the combinations are strange, Liam nodded as he pecked his husband's lips and stood from the bed. But before Liam can get to open the door, he was stopped by Louis.

"Don't leave me alone here. I wanna go with you." Louis said with teary eyes and grabby hands. Liam smiled at his husband's adorableness and walked back to the bed. Liam stood at the end of the bed while he helped Louis to stand up. He carefully placed his arms at the back of Louis’ knees and shoulders and lifted him up in a princess carry.

Louis giggled as he locked his arms around Liam's neck. He kissed Liam's cheek as the man pulled Louis' body closer to his own.

"Ready? Comfortable?" Liam wants to make sure.

"Yes." Louis' answered. Liam pecked his pixie-like husband's cheek before walking towards the kitchen.

Nine Months Pregnant…

"Lou, are you okay?"

"You're asking me if I'm okay? Tell you're son to stop pushing on my bladder."

Liam placed his hands on Louis' belly and leaned closer on the skin. "Hey, Ni. Don't hurt Daddy please. He's taking good care of you. Don't make this hard for him, alright?" Liam murmured and as always, their unborn son, whom they named Niall stopped kicking on his Daddy's bladder.

Louis sighed in relief as he listened to Liam sing, making him fall asleep. A few hours later, Louis woke up to an urge leading him to pee. When he came back waddling to the bed, Liam was already awake and looking for him.

"Lou, you okay?" Liam asked as he stood up and immediately went to help his husband walk back to bed.

"You're son is a great kicker." Louis commented.

"I bet." Liam answered, smiling.

They cuddled in bed as the stillness of the night continued.

"Liam?"

"Hmm?"

"I'm nervous."

"Of what, babe?"

"Of delivering our baby."

Liam looked at Louis. "You have nothing to be afraid of. You'll be fine. Our son will be fine. And I'll be with you all the way. And we'll be the best Daddy and Papa that we can. You should always stay calm love." Louis smiled at Liam and Liam kissed him lovingly.

"We'll always be together, Lou, right?"

"Of course. It's our pact."

After a few minutes. Louis got up to go to the bathroom again. Liam offered to go with him. But Louis declined.

"Li, I'm pregnant. Not invalid. I can do this." And with that, Louis waddled to the bathroom. Liam sighed as he patiently and alertly waited for Louis to reappear in the room.

When Louis reappeared after a few minutes, he calmly approached Liam's side of the bed.

"Liam?"

"Hmm?" Liam hummed in response, sitting up.

"My water just broke." Louis said ever so calmly, despite the pain kicking his guts.

Liam's ears rang. He's stunned and happy and nervous and frantic all at the same time. Louis shook his shoulder as another contraction hit him. He gripped tightly at Liam's shoulder which made Liam look at his husband. That's when he noticed that Louis' face is contorted in pain.

"Oh my gosh Lou. You're in labor! What are we gonna do?" He asked worriedly as he stood up from the bed and looked around the room, mind jumbled of the things that he should do.

"Liam, please get me another pair of maternity pants. Get my bag and the baby's bag that we prepared under the bed. Then, get the key of the car and your cellphone. Call Dr. Higgins and tell him what's happening. He'll call my OB. Ring our Dads and tell them that I'm in labor." Louis slowly coaxed an obviously nervous Liam, in between his painful contractions.

"Okay. Okay."

"Liam?"

Liam looked at Louis.

"It's not like you're the one in labor. You should always stay calm, love." Louis still found the wit to repeat Liam's words to the man himself.

Liam nodded his head and did as told. Then, he carefully guided Louis towards the door. He left Louis by the door frame as he ran towards the garage and into the car, driving it in front of the house for easier access for Louis.

Louis was gripping the door frame and now sobbing in pain. "Liam!" Louis screamed in pain as another painful contraction hit. Liam was suddenly on his side and guiding him towards the car. Liam drove as fast as he can while Louis shouted threats at him every time a painful contraction hit him.

"Relax, Love. Please calm down." Liam said nervously.

Louis chuckled at that. "I should be the one telling you that."

"I am calm " Liam said frantically, body language and face showing the exact opposite of what he just stated.

"Yeah. And I'm the pregnant one and is about to push our baby into this world so I should be panicking."

"I'm sorry, Lou. I just want you to be okay and Niall."

"We will be." Louis said calmly, taking a deep breath. "If you tell your son to stop killing me!" Louis groaned in pain as a contraction hit him again.

Liam swallowed as he drove faster but carefully. The doctors we're already waiting at the emergency entrance of the hospital when they arrived. They immediately wheeled Louis towards the delivery area while assessing him and asking protocol questions.

"I'm gonna burst! Just get my son out of me!" Louis cried painfully, gripping Liam's hand.

Liam winced at the pain crushing his knuckles that is his husband but he knows that whatever pain he's feeling, it's nothing compared to Louis'.

Liam was stopped by the nurse at the door of the delivery room. "Sir, do you want to-"

"Of course I'll stay with him!" Liam rushed out, not wanting to let go of Louis' hand. The nurse nodded and gave him a scrub suit to change into. He kissed Louis' lips before letting go and changing immediately.

When he entered the delivery room, he was greeted by Louis' cries. He immediately went towards his husband and held his hand. Louis sighed in relief upon seeing Liam.

Louis' feet are placed on stirrups as a medical cloth covers his body from waist down. He's already changed into a hospital gown.

"Okay, Louis. When you feel another contraction, push, okay?" The doctor said, seeing that Louis is already dilated enough to push. Louis nodded in exhaustion with tear-stained face as he held on to Liam who is whispering comforting words and keeps on showering his face with kisses.

Louis grunted in pain. "Stop saying 'okay', okay? That's not the correct term right now!"

Liam wanted to coo at Louis but restrained himself. But it didn't go unnoticed to Louis as the latter glared at him. "What?!"

Liam cleared his throat as he tried hard to erase the smile threatening to slip past his face. "You said the word that you don't want to hear."

Louis was about to argue, instead, a loud scream passed his lips from the pain of a contraction and remembering the doctor's instruction, he pushed as much as he can.

"Good going, Louis. Just repeat the action during the contraction and you'll be able to see your baby after this."

Louis smiled weakly at the mention of seeing his baby as he gripped Liam's hands that are holding his own. Liam smiled lovingly at his husband as he kissed his face. "You're doing great, Love. So, so good, Lou. We'll see Niall in just a bit."

Louis nodded as he bit his lips raw as another contraction hit him and he pushed. He heard the doctor cheer on him and Liam's soft voice. He glared on the latter. "I hate you Liam! Don't you dare get near me again or I swear to God! I will chop your thing off!" Louis shouted but also tightened his hand in Liam's.

The doctors and nurses in the room just smiled, already used to this scenarios. Liam's face blushed as he held on to Louis' hand tighter, giving all his support. Louis cried as another contraction hit him which requires him to push. He pushed as much as his exhausted body could. It' so painful and it's already taking a toll on him.

"You're on the right track Louis. One more push and his head will be out." The doctor encouraged.

Liam wiped the sweat off Louis' face as well as the tears and snot. With or without those fluids on Louis' face and Liam thinks that Louis is still and will always be the most beautiful and precious human for him. "You can do it, Lou. Our baby will be here in a little bit."

Another contraction and Louis pushed harder. The doctor announced that the head is already out and just one more push for the shoulders. Louis sobbed in great pain as hesitation gnawed at him again. "No. No! I'm not ready yet! Not now! Give me another nine months! Please!" Louis cried out.

"We're ready for this, Babe. We already are. I love you. You and our son." Liam cooed softly.

Louis nodded as he gripped Liam's hand tighter as he anticipated another contraction.

"I'm afraid I can't do that, Louis. You're ready. And this baby says otherwise. Now one more push for me, okay?" The doctor gently coached. Louis nodded again, feeling his throat closing up. And with one last push with all his might, a loud cry was heard in the room. Their son's cries.

The doctor announced the baby being out as the nurse took the baby to clean him up. Liam smiled widely at Louis as he peppered Louis' face with kisses, saying 'I love you's and 'thank you's'. Louis smiled weakly as he felt a tugging in his stomach. Against his will, his body started to shut down as he felt his body became lighter and lighter. He fought to keep his eyes open as his vision started to blur and his ears picked out the noises in the room.

"He’s having an internal bleeding!" He heard the doctor. Who? My baby?

No! Help him! Louis wanted to shout but he can't seem to open his mouth. He want to turn and look at Liam but his vision already turned black and he felt like he was sucked in a black hole as he heard everything but can't see anything.

"He's losing consciousness!"

"What's happening to my husband?!"

"Sir, please, you need to step out."

"No! I want to stay with him!

"Sir, you need to calm down."

"Don't fucking tell me to calm down! What's wrong with Louis?!"

Louis wanted to say that nothing's wrong with him. He even felt lighter and this is better than the pain he felt a while ago. He wondered what's wrong as he was slowly pulled into a deep sleep. He wanted to succumb to the weightless feeling but he wants to calm Liam first. He also wants to see their baby Niall and make sure that their son is fine. Wants to see him and touch his skin. To see what color his eyes are and whose face does he resemble. He so badly want him to look like Liam.

"Heartbeat's decreasing!"

"No! Louis! Love, please wake up! C'mon baby, please!"

He wanted to tell Liam that he's awake, but he's already being pulled to a dreamy state. He wanted to caress Liam's face and kiss his lips and tell him that he's just tired and will just take a nap and that he will see him and their son soon upon waking up.

"The bleeding won't stop!"

"Please save him!"

Save who, Liam? Louis wants to ask.

"We're losing him!"

"Get the defibrillator ready!"

"Lou, please wake up. I need you, baby. Niall needs you. We need you, Louis. Please! This isn't funny anymore."

He heard loud crashing sounds as the sounds started to be muffled and turn incomprehensible for his foggy brain but still heard it anyway.

"Sedate him!"

"Don't fucking touch me! Get away from me!"

"Sir, Please. You need to step out."

"Please come back to me, Lou."

Liam! Louis wanted to shout for his husband. He felt a soft and loving touch on his face as a pair of lips touched his own. The last thing he heard before everything went black was a desperate plea.

"Louis, stay with me, Love. We had a deal! We'll always stay together. I can't live without you. I love you so much. Please!"

Then, nothing.
