Chapter 10: Where Did She Go?

The moment I wake up from our little nap, I can sense that she is gone and quickly sit up before looking around the room. Of course, she is nowhere to be found. “Damn it! She tricked me.” I murmur under my breath and then scoot to the edge of the bed.

After standing up, I scan the room one last time before hurrying downstairs and collecting the security team. Glancing between them all, I state, “I need to find that trouble making girl quick, if she gets back home and the humans all find out about us, we are dead. Is that understood?” They all look between one another and then nod when they return their attention to me.

Realizing that the best thing to do is split up, I tell Beta Tim and Beta Peter that they need to hurry up and go up north through the woods. Beta Connie and Beta Tom head down south to the clearing and Beta Rick ends up going over to the west to the river. I on the other hand, head into town to see if she made it that far.

Hoping that she didn’t make it all the way there, I hold my breath when I get to the edge of town and watch to see if I see her anywhere. “So far so good.” I remark to Beta David who is sitting next to me in my black Maserati.

He turns his head to glance at me and then says, “There she is.” While opening the passenger door and pointing right at her.

We both get out as fast as we can and rush over to her before she has a chance to get away. I grab her from behind around the waist and with my other hand I hold her mouth shut so she can’t scream. It’s a good thing that it is dark out, because otherwise someone would see us.

Hurrying as fast as we can, I hoist her over my shoulder and carry her to the car. Beta David opens the trunk, and we chuck her in before she gets a chance to scream or try to run. The minute we place her inside and it closes, we climb in and shut the doors before I turn the key and hear the engine roar.

While we drive out of the parking lot, I hear her cries for help, but speed off so we don’t get caught. I think about how this would have been so much easier if she wouldn’t have run off in the first place. Then I shake my head and listen to the radio for a while after Beta David turns it on. After all, we don’t want to hear her screaming from the trunk all the way home.

A couple of times we even glance at each other and share a laugh because we both know that when we get back to the castle, she is going to be really upset. I may even have to whip that little ass of hers before she loses control of herself. Of course, as soon as I think of that, I get excited.

Just before we get home, I decide that I had better stop. Because if I don’t, I will have sex with her the minute we get back. That can’t happen yet. For one thing she is only seventeen and the other is that she must beg me for it.

She must want me to touch her more than anything, and right at this moment I happen to know that there is no way that is happening. I am pretty sure that the only thoughts running through that head of hers now, is getting away from me. Maybe even telling everyone that we are monsters.

I mean, I can understand in a way. She came here essentially for a date, and it went horribly wrong the minute we opened the doors. She saw two of our people going at each other’s throats with their fangs and claws out. That is enough to scare someone so much that they get the fight or flight response. Which is exactly what she did, she ran.

Running my fingers through my messy mane, I glance over at the gate as Beta David hits the button. “Hey, let us in. We found her. She is in the trunk.” He says with as much excitement as a small boy with a new toy.

Hearing the gate creak, he hurries to get back in before it is too late. I watch as he shuts the door and then glances over at me before stating, “Let’s hurry. I am hungry as hell. Maybe if we get inside and get her squared away, we can grab something from the kitchen before Dante puts it away for the night.”

I smirk before replying, “No, man. I think it’s too late. Usually, he takes care of everything the minute we are done with dinner. He thinks it will go bad if it is left out too long.”

He gets a sad look on his face and then I hear his stomach growl. “Dang. You weren’t kidding. Maybe you should just go look in the fridge when we get home anyway. You might find something that you don’t have to warm up to snack on.” I say as I stop by the front doors to the castle.

We look at each other and then I realize something. She has been quiet for an awfully long time now. I hope she is alright back there.

Rushing to open the trunk, I feel bad immediately when I find her asleep on her side, curled up. At first, I could swear that she is smiling and then she must sense me staring at her because she wakes up and glares at me. Then she asks rather calmly, “Why did you do that? I wouldn’t have told anyone about your kind. I just want to go home after all. I promise I won’t cause trouble for anyone.”

She starts to push out her bottom lip while making me feel bad for her, but honestly it makes me just want to bite it. I wonder if she tastes sweet or bitter? Her blood I mean.

This girl has such an interesting effect on me that I can’t describe. One minute I want to kill her, the next I want to take her to bed. If she keeps this up, I might do both unintentionally.

I have never mated with a human before. Will I hurt her or even worse kill her when we make love? Why didn’t I think about this before?

With all this going through my head, she just lies there glaring at me, silently. That is, until I scoop her up into my arms and carry her inside, kicking and screaming. “Stop it! I am not a baby.” She yells at me and then tries to bite me.

When I open the bedroom door, I walk over to the bed and drop her on it. She bounces and I hear her squeak before she says, “Wow. Just when I thought you couldn’t get more romantic.”

I turn to her with my eyes burning into her soul, and then I climb on top of her and taste that sweet mouth of hers. It was only for a second, but that would last me for quite a while. So, now I am going to go before I do something that we both regret, and she hates me in the morning for.

If I really wanted to, I could force myself on her now, but what would be the point of that. Instead, I am leaving her to her imagination. With that said, I climb off her and then sit on the edge of the bed for a few minutes. I contemplate asking her if she wants me to stay the night or not. But then I think better of it, and I end up walking out and leaving her for the night.

Just before I shut the door behind me and lock it, I hear her stir and sigh. That was all I needed to know. I am starting to wear her down. Right now, if I wanted to stay, she would have let me.

As I walk back to my room and get ready for bed, I reflect on what has happened today and hope that tomorrow is much better.
