Chapter 26: Her Birthday

“What are you doing?” Curious about what Arabella is doing in the corner of the room, I try to see around the doorway, but her body is blocking it.

I finally was let out of the hospital this morning and now I am trying to hide the fact that we have a surprise birthday party planned all out for her. This evening, I will take her on a walk while several of the other Omega’s set up everything. Then when the coast is clear, I will bring her back and we all will surprise her. Hoping that this makes up for the fact that she isn’t with her family on her 18th birthday, I realize that it will never be the same, but it is all that we can do given the situation.

“Nothing.” She sounds like she is lying, but I decide to let it go for the moment.

That’s when she turns around and I see it. She has a piece of paper in her hands, and she is presenting it to me with a smile on her face. Before I can see what is on it, she states, “I drew this for you while you were sleeping in the hospital.”

Shocked that she would do something so special, I gaze down at it and realize that she is quite talented. It looks exactly like me, but better. I look handsome as hell in the drawing, and you can tell she has put a lot of thought into it. Staring at it for a few minutes, I notice that her handwriting at the bottom is even beautiful. It says, “I hope you will aways remember me.”

Curious about this, I glance up into her eyes and see something strange. There is a light there that I haven’t seen before, and I don’t know what it means. What I do know, is that tonight she is mine because she has just turned 18. Therefore, she is a consenting adult, and I can finally wine and dine her without feeling like a creep.

Still staring into her eyes, I mention, “I am extremely touched by this. Thank you.” Then I lean down to kiss her softly on the lips for just a second.

Surprised, she sighs a little when her lips touch mine and then her eyes flutter ever so softly. When I break off the kiss, she reaches up and wraps her arms around my neck. Her eyes search questioningly into mine and then she kisses me with a need that I thought I had been the only one feeling till now.

Savoring this moment, I don’t want to break it off, but I have plans for her later this evening. After the birthday party, I plan on showing her exactly what it is like to be a woman in all the various ways. I want to enter her so many times that she never forgets this night for the rest of her life. Feeling my member spring to life as I think about all this, I quickly quench it with another kiss and then stop before I can no longer.

Backing up, I notice that she still stares at me with those needful eyes and that means one thing and one thing only. She wants me too. I sigh and then turn around with a heavy heart before leaving the room for a few hours.

I love this girl, correction woman. Needing to show her badly what it feels like to be in love, a few minutes is not enough time to take care of it, so it must wait till later. Right now, I have more pressing issues to take care of.

As I walk down the stairs to the kitchen, I quickly think of the things I might have missed earlier for the birthday party. The minute I walk in, I smell the aromas and scents of the birthday cake baking in the oven and the meal cooking on the stoves. Dante is in the middle of stirring frosting and creating a splendid teal topping.

“How do you do it? This smells so wonderful, and everything looks so enticing all the time?” I smile and ask while my stomach begins to grumble.

He pauses his stirring for a second before answering my question. “It’s a secret. I wouldn’t be your cook if I told anyone else. Now, would I?” He flashes me a sheepish grin before dipping his forefinger in the frosting and then licking it off.

We both start laughing and then I straighten up before my stomach starts to eat itself, “So, I came down here to make sure that everything is ready for tonight and if you thought of anything I hadn’t before this.”

He rolls his eyes up in the air as if he is thinking and then states, “Nope. Everything is covered. I even have the ice cream so she will feel like she is still at home.”

Smiling, I walk over and pat him on the back before saying, “I knew I could count on you. Now, do you mind if I sneak a couple of those meatballs over there?”

While laughing loudly, he shakes his head and then demands, “Make sure you have her down here at 6 tonight. That way we can have the party at 8. Otherwise, she probably won’t be hungry for her own birthday cake.”

“Deal.” I nod and then smile before sneaking the meatballs and leaving.

As I munch on them, I walk around the castle and check to make sure that everyone knows when to be there this evening. Because the last thing I should be doing is talking about this at dinner when she is in ear shot of me. Finally, when it comes time to eat, I arrive back at the bedroom to retrieve her.

When I open the door, I see her splayed across the bed with a come hither look on her face. Her mouth open and her tongue darts out before she licks her lips seductively. Apparently, she has been waiting for me for some time now.

I open my mouth to say something, but then she lowers her hand to her nub and starts to rub it while I watch. I can’t believe that she is doing this when everyone is waiting on us, but I almost say the hell with it and take her. Shaking my head, I take in a deep breath and blow it out my mouth slowly before demanding, “Get up now! It is dinner time, and they are waiting on us.”

When hurt spreads across her face at the same time a blush tints her cheeks, I start to wish I hadn’t said anything and just took her anyway. But she gets up quickly and hurries to throw on her clothes for dinner without looking my way once. She refuses to take my hand on the way down the stairs, even when I offer mine to her, so I know that she is really upset.

Feeling bad about the whole thing, I try to cheer her up by making her laugh, but all I end up doing is making her mad by saying, “You look like an angel when your hair is framing your face like it was on the bed.” Quietly as we arrive at the dinning room table.

Everyone stands, and then as soon as I sit down, they take a seat, and the dinner begins. I glance to my right where Arabella is, but she still won’t look at me, not even once. Instead, she starts talking to Beta Janette to the right of her, so she doesn’t have to acknowledge my presents at all.

Touching her hand gently, I ask her while staring at her face, “Baby, would you like some dessert afterwards?”

She turns to me briefly and when I look in her eyes, I see something else this time. She is sad, but also something else lies there in those deep pools. Is it regret or something even more? I want to ask her, but this is not the place to be airing our dirty laundry. Especially when I don’t know who friend or foe is.

Raising my hand to my hair, I run my fingers through it nervously and then I ask, “Are you alright? I didn’t mean to offend you. We just had no time.”

I watch as a tear forms in the corner of her eye and then she quickly turns away without saying anything to me at all. The rest of the meal, I eat in silence while listening to her converse with Beta Janette. I know that Janette will do anything to have me, so I am cautious of when the two of them talk about me.

Shaking my head again, Alpha Donald says, “You need to take care of that right away.” As he points at the two of them chatting.

Everyone in this castle knows that Janette would do anything to have me. Who knows what she might say to Arabella to make her question my loyalty? Or even make her despise me?

After everyone has eaten dinner, Arabella finally turns to me with a cold look on her face and asks, “Are you ready?”

I nod and then say, “Let’s go for a walk in the gardens. It is one of the last days before fall and the roses will wilt away.”

Watching as she nods in agreement, I feel pleased for once this evening. So, I stand up and take her hand as we walk to the door and begin our stroll through the gardens. The minute we arrive in the rose garden, roses and earth scents fill my nose and I can’t help but stop to close my eyes and take it all in.

This is what makes living worthwhile. When we can sit back and smell the rose garden. Neither one of us says anything, even when I can tell she is staring up at me while I have my eyes closed.

Then out of nowhere, she asks, “What are you doing?” Her voice sounding so full of curiosity and wonder.

I open my eyes and smile before looking down at her while saying, “I am taking in the wonders of life. You should try it sometime because it is beautiful like you are.” The whole time I don’t take my eyes off her and then I pause before leaning down to kiss her. Cupping her chin, I hold her there while I explore every corner of her mouth with my tongue and then I break it off to look at her.

She is gazing into my eyes with a sparkle in her eyes this time and then she quickly looks away when I wink at her. I feel her hand on mine before she starts to pull me towards the gate and back to the castle. If I turn her down again, I may cause a permanent rift between us that will be unrepairable.

However, what she doesn’t know is that a surprise birthday party is waiting for her within the next 5 minutes or so. So, unfortunately there is no time for us to be going back to the bedroom right now. Realizing the situation is not desirable, I follow her to the front door and then I stop for a second.

Stalling her as best as I can, I see them quickly give me the thumbs up, so I lead her to the ballroom instead. Just before I open the doors, I kiss her quickly and then she hears everyone scream, “Surprise.” And then we enter.
