Damon
"Good luck." That one sentence filled me with such anger. I almost lost it.
"You're a psychopath." I seethed at him.
"Maybe. But I'm the psychopath that knows where our baby sister is at." I could feel Trey and Roberts's eyes turn toward me. They had no idea I had a sister, and I wasn't planning on telling them until the problem was resolved. But I guess it's too late.
"Oh? Damon didn't tell you? Our poor sister Layla went missing years ago. The poor girl ran too far into the woods during a game." Tyler laughed trying to make this into a joke.
"No, you took her." I yelled back at him.
"Did I? I mean if I did and she is still alive that means I would have to at least feed her everyday. Which means the longer I'm locked in here the longer she goes without food. And I never give her enough to last her longer than a day. Such a pity, for all you know she could be right under your nose and you'd have no idea. But don't worry, I'll tell you in five days. By then I'm almost positive she'd be dead. Then you'd lose." He chuckled dryly and I stood there stating at him but that's when it clicked. I started smiling and stared Tyler down and he began to notice my change in attitude.
"What has you smiling?"
"You dumbass, you just gave it away. I know where Layla is. And you're dead."
Flashback
It was a hot and humid afternoon and Damon was out playing with Tyler. They used to be close, used to love each other dearly, especially when they were younger. That was until a new member came to the family. Damon and Tyler were playing a game of cops and robbers, Damon, of course, being the cop. He always knew deep down that Tyler had a bad side to him, but he thought it was just because he was little.
"Boys! Let your sister play with you." The queen yelled from the back door and out the castle came a little 5-year-old girl. She was a year younger than Tyler, but did her best to keep up with them. Now she did not look like her brothers at all, she had brown skin, long black curls that cascaded down her back. She had bright green eyes and thick full eyelashes. She ran up to Damon and he picked her up.
"What's up Layla...wanna hide n' seek?" Damon said smiling down at his sister.
Tyler was always jealous of the connection between Damon and Layla, he felt as though there was something different between them. He didn't know what it was but he knew he was different.
"Yes! Hide n' seek is my favorite. Count Day!" Layla yelled jumping from his arms and running to Tyler.
"Ty, come on let's hide."
Damon turned around and started counting down from thirty giving them time to hide in the woods. Layla and Tyler were running around trying to find a spot.
"Hey, Layla, I have the perfect hiding spot." Tyler said smirking, she of course, followed her brother blindly. She trusted him.
"Okay, Ty where?" She said following him. They walked for a couple more miles and reached a cave with a metal door that was covered by leaves and branches.
"Get in," Tyler said pushing Layla in.
"Ty, are you coming?" She asked looking at him. Fear was in her eyes, she had never seen this place before and she had no idea how to get home.
"No, I have to stay out here to make sure Day finds you." Tyler immediately closed the door locking it and covering the door.
"Ty? TY!? TYLER?! Let me out! I'm really scared! It's dark! Please!" Layla screamed but it was so faint Tyler barely heard it.
Tyler ran back to the pack house, pretending to cry as if he lost Layla.
"Damon! Layla is gone! I was hiding and then she ran...and..and... I don't know where she went!" Tyler cried running to Damon.
"What!" The Alpha and Luna run outside after hearing their son Tyler.
"Tyler where is Layla!" Yelled the Alpha worry covered his face.
It was then the Alpha and Luna realized what Damon was. He started to growl, and it looked like he was going to shift for the first time, but instead it stopped. His eyes were pitch black, claws and fangs extended, ears starting to point. The veins under his eyes are black and popping out.
"He's a Lycan." The luna said in shock. Lycans were rare, extremely rare. And yet somehow their son was one.
Damon ran into the woods sniffing around trying to find the scent of his sister. He doesn't know how long he was out trying to find her, he walked back defeated...his sister was gone. He made it back home and walked inside to see that his parents were already waiting for him with bags of luggage.
"What is going on Mom?" Damon noticed a strange man at the door as he talked to his parents.
"Honey, this man is going to take you to a special school, for wolves like you." The luna said walking up to him and grabbing his hand.
"What do you mean wolves like me? Why am I leaving? And why are you in here worried about me when Layla is gone?!" Damon yelled frustrated at his parents.
"Son we have people looking for your sister, they will find her. Right now we are worried about you, you're not a werewolf you're a Lycan." The alpha said grabbing Damon and pulling him toward the strange man.
"Which means a lot of different things, but this man will explain everything to you."
"Hello there Damon, my name is Stephan. I will be taking care of you from now on." Stephen said looking down at Damon.
"Mama I don't want to leave! Please, I need to find Layla!" Damon yelled, Stephan grabbed Damon's shoulder.
"Come on son, you won't be alone. I want you to meet my daughter." Damon looked at the man and then his parents.
"Find my sister."
That was the last thing he said before stomping out of the house leaving his parents and his lost sister behind. But he couldn't help the face he saw his little brother make like he knew where she was.
End of Flashback
"Before I leave, tell me why you did it? Why her? If you were jealous of me, then why not just hurt me instead?" I asked him.
"Kill two birds with one stone. Hide her, expose you. Then there's just me left to take the throne. Then I was going to find my mate and keep her as far away from you as possible. And if you found about her, then I would have her killed. I didn't want her anyways."
Now that sent me over the edge.
I flung open the cell gate and walked in. I grabbed his throat and started to choke him. I punched him over and over again until he was lifeless on the floor. I knew he wasn't dead because I could still here a faint heartbeat. I looked at my blood-covered hands and walked out the cell locking it behind me.
"Trey, Robert. Get all the males Lycans outside now. We are finding my sister...today."
I decided to go back to the place where we lost her, it was in the backyard of the pack house. I can't believe this entire time she's been here, or at least I think. The way he explained it was that she couldn't be too far to where he couldn't get to her everyday. Plus he was so young when he did it, there's no way that he made it that far.
All I know is I'm going to find her and bring her home, and let her know that I didn't forget about her. I remember the way they ran before counting and seeing as they were little and only had a minute to hide she couldn't have been hidden very far.
"Trey, follow me," I said to him as we started walking into the woods.
I haven't been on this side of the property in a very long time. How could a little boy hide her and no one be able to see where she was, or even hear her screaming? We had just walked past this abnormally tall tree, hill thing. It looked misplaced and weird, like it wasn't real.
As Trey and I walked past it there was a noise that came from it. Or around it. Almost like a knock.
"Did you hear that?" I looked at Trey and stopped dead in my tracks.
"Yeah, I heard it over there somewhere," Trey said walking towards the weird tree. But the closer we got the more it looked like a cave.
"Is this a cave?" Asked Trey walking beside me. "I have no idea, I didn't even know this was over here."
I walked toward this huge cave thing, there were branches and leaves in front of it. I don't know why but it felt like there was something behind it.
"Damon, Robert just mind linked me, he said they found something," Trey said walking up towards me. But something was pulling me to stay here. I waited for a few more minutes but there was nothing.
"Alright, let's go meet them." I turned around and started following him to where Robert said he was and that's when I heard the knock again.
