Rhen
Dinner was going pretty good, I just wish Jedidiah was sitting across from me instead of Vincent. I know that he is a handsome guy but he just isn't Jedidiah.
"So Rhen tell me about yourself, like things you like to do?" Bellamy asked me. They had just set down our main entree and it was fettucini alfredo and garlic bread. Nothing fancy.
"Oh um, I play many instruments but my favorite is the violin and cello," I said in between bites of food.
"That's amazing, I can't play anything," Bellamy said. I looked up and made eye contact with Jedidiah, I know he couldn't see my eyes but I wish he could.
"Are you planning on starting highschool with us? We start in a couple of days. I could show you around and take you to all your classes this way you won't have to worry about having that big old guy following you everywhere." Vincent said smirking. I saw Jedidiah stiffen and clench his fist.
"No, I'm okay. I feel safer when I am around him." If he could only see my face and see how much I meant it. I saw a smirk go on Jedidiah's face and my heart leaped.
"Right. My offer still stands." This guy just won't give up.
Dinner went smoothly for the rest of the night. Bellany and I hit it off really well, we had a lot in common and it was nice having a friend around. But Vincent kind of freaked me out.
He was very persistent in getting me alone with him, which I found was strange.
"Rhen let me have your phone number and at some point this weekend we can go back to school shopping together," Bellamy said pulling her phone out and handing it to me.
I put my number and I saw Vincent get out his phone too. I really hope he wasn't trying to get my number. Right before Vincent started talking Jedidiah walked to my side of the table.
"It is time to go, Princess." He pulled out my chair and grabbed my hand in his. Even though I was wearing gloves I could feel the sparks.
We walked in silence up to my room and we stood in front of the door.
"I want you to stay away from Vincent. He is bad news." Jedidiah had his usual expression on his face. I ignored his comment.
"Do you want to come in? Let me play something for you." I opened the door and walked inside my room. He followed me into the room and closed the door behind him.
"Have a seat Jedidiah. My room is your room."
He sat down on my chair in front of my vanity. I looked out my window and slowly started to take off my gloves. I could feel his eyes on me they were burning holes into the back of my head.
"Princess you shouldn't be taking off your cloak with me." I rolled my eyes as I sat my gloves down.
"I told you to call me Rhen. And you are my mate, my powers don't affect you at all. In fact, they are dormant now, I don't have to wear my cloaks anymore just dark sunglasses." I said as I unbuckled my cloak and slid it off.
Jedidiah stood up when he saw my cloak drop to the floor. All he saw was me from behind, I took my hair out of the ponytail it was in and let it cascade down my back.
I heard him walk toward me, I could feel his body heat on mine and it was amazing. I turned around slowly and let him see my face.
I locked eyes with his blue ones and got lost in them immediately.
His scent of apple and sandalwood flooded my nose and I closed my eyes and relished in it. His hand came up and caressed my face.
The sparks ran up and down my face causing me to lean into his hand.
"Rhen." His voice was deep and magnificent and caused shivers down my spine.
"Please don't do this to me. Give me a chance to be your mate okay? It doesn't have to happen now, just one day at a time." I lifted my hand to his face and cupped his cheek.
"When you find out my past you won't want me anymore." His eyes showed so much sadness and it broke my heart. But he was actually showing me a part of him I have never seen before.
"I don't care about what you've done. You can tell me in your own time. Just focus on right now, with me."
I put my hand down and wrapped my arms around his waist and pulled him into a hug. It took a couple of seconds but he wrapped his arms around me too. we stood there for, I don't know how long but I never wanted it to end. He pulled away from me all too soon and let me go.
"Shall I play?" I motioned to my cello and he gave a small nod and sat on my bed as I got set up.
Music was my escape, it was how I could imagine certain situations growing up. It was my own way of expressing myself.
I slowly sat the cello between my legs and Jedidiah watched with an intensity in his eyes. And I begun to play. My favorite song. Fur Elise.
I know that was meant for the piano mostly but I found a way to compose it for a cello. It took months, but when I got it I almost cried.
Jedidiah sat there listening as I played. My eyes were shut the whole time enjoying the vibration of the instrument against my body.
But it didn't bother me that we weren't talking. I didn't like to talk much anyways. That's probably because of my many years of solitude. Silence is my language.
When I was done I looked over to Jedidiah. He had a look of adoration on his face as he stared at me.
"That was beautiful." His words warned my heart as I moved to put my cello back in place.
"Thank you." I said sheepishly, suddenly feeling extremely nervous.
"You should get some rest. It's getting late." He spoke and I nodded in agreement.
"I'll see you tomorrow, and we can talk more then." He pulled me into another hug, and his big body already becoming a huge comfort to me.
"Goodnight beautiful." He backed away and walked to the door and walked out. I couldn't help but have a huge smile on my face as I went to bed.
