Chapter 5

I stayed, keeping afloat in the pool, but suddenly the water felt ten times hotter than it did just a second ago. Watching Harry slowly walk along the side of the pool and stop at the foot of the stairs, my legs clenched under the water.

He was still in his work clothes from earlier and still looked every bit as hot. Sleeves rolled up to his elbows and his collar slightly undone, the only thing he had changed since the last time I saw him was his tie; he had loosened the knot slightly and freed the sight of his Adam's apple.

The light from the pool illuminated his broad shape and cast a glow to his questioning brow as he looked upon my figure in the water.

"Well, if it isn't my sugar not-so-much daddy," I finally chirped and smirked lightly when I saw him purse his lips at my little nickname for him.

"Come to join, have you? Or have you perhaps reconsidered my offer from earlier?"

I almost didn't care which answer he gave.

I watched him as he calmly walked around the pool with his hands tucked into his pants. He stopped once he was at my spot on dry land, looking down at me with a look I had to admit was almost parental, but nevertheless turned me on.

"As I've encouraged you to do so before..." He slowly crouched down when I swam up to the side and laid my elbows on the edge.

His eyes pierced mine, and those amber irises looked almost golden in the glow from the water.

"Practice."

I subtly clenched my legs under the water. He made me want to practice alright, but not anything I'd find in my books upstairs.

"I could say the same about you," I replied, looking back up at him with a slightly challenging stare.

"You say I lack discipline...I say you lack the lack of it."

His lips twitched as he watched me for a moment.

Then, rising slowly to his feet again, I watched him turn and walk back towards the door, not sparing me a glance.

"Close up when you're done."

"I don't care about the money, you know," I called out.

He halted in the door.

"Well, I won't say no to it, who would, but it's the scholarship I want. You're right I can't buy an education, so all your brother's money would mean nothing if I couldn't get the education I wanted. It could've bought me great tutors and teachers, but never a scholarship like that."

I watched as Harry slowly turned around again, a slight purse to his lips.

"We started the scholarship to help underprivileged, smart minds get ahead in the academic world."

"I want to be one of them."

"Practice then, Ms. Berry."

"Help me practice," I voiced.

Once again, he halted in his steps while opening the door to head back upstairs. Instead of walking out, the door remained open with him standing in the midst of it.

"I don't tutor," Was his simple reply.

"You don't tutor, you don't fuck," I floated out to the center of the water again, watching him stay in the door, still undecided as to whether or not he was leaving.

"I do both. And with equal passion," I added, slowly smirking when he finally closed the door and came back in.

"If you don't believe me, come join me in the pool."

I couldn't be sure, because he was too far away and it lasted so shortly, but I swore I saw the corner of his lip turn upwards for just a fraction of a second.

"And if I do believe you?"

"Come join me anyway."

This time his lips definitely twitched. Standing by the edge of the pool, he watched me for a long moment with an unreadable look in his eyes.

Then, after another grueling moment.

His hand slowly lifted and started tugging at his tie.

At least I think I wasn't. When he took his first stroke and swam towards me, I automatically swam backwards until my back hit the edge of the pool.

Still, I couldn't peel my eyes off of the naked male shape swimming towards me with strong strokes, telling me he did indeed make use of this pool regularly.

He didn't fight it.

"Most eighteen year old’s fight with confidence and self-loathing."

"And what makes you think I don't?" I replied, now taking his hand.

The walls were covered in equations and mathematical problems that staggered between simple, small calculations, to larger, almost all-fulfilling equations that took up most of the wall.

Luckily he had high ceilings, but a ladder perched up against the furthest wall in the room showed that not even height was going to stand in his way of utilizing his walls as alternative notepaper. The only spots on the wall that wasn't covered in math were the parts where furniture stood up against it and a single lonesome mirror hung against the wall although I wouldn't hold it above him to move around his furniture if wall space ran out.

Maybe this was his weird way of going green.

Or, most likely, Harry Devon was a math fanatic.

On cue, a door across the room opened and a freshly showered Harry walked out, once again buttoning up his shirt. He walked right past the bed where I was lying and went straight for his closet, where a belt, a tie and a watch all laid on a shelf inside, obviously selected for the day. I lifted myself up on my elbow and watched as he started tying his tie and folded down his collar.

"Definitely not a virgin then," I finally voiced.

I saw his eyes lift and regard me with a short look before picking up his watch and sliding it on his wrist.

"Or gay. But trust me when I say the gay community would've loved to have you on their team."

"Good morning to you, too."

"What time is it?" I asked and laid down flat on the bed to stretch as Harry finally secured his wrist watch and then buttoned his sleeves.

"7.30. I have a phone conference in ten minutes."

"Why do you have math on your walls?"

"I ran out of paper."

"So you used your wallpaper?"

"I found the floor too challenging."

Relight. Okay then.

"Do you mind if I sleep here a couple more hours?" I asked, rolling over to my stomach now and grabbing one of his pillows.

I propped it against my chest and clutched it as I felt his gaze land on me.

"I didn't get all that much sleep last night. No complaints, though."

God, none at all.

In fact I wouldn't mind filling the last ten minutes before his phone conference with a quickie. Even despite my soreness.

"Close up when you leave," He said, walking straight past me, grabbing a few random papers here and there, as if he knew exactly what was on each piece of paper in every single corner of his room.

Organized chaos.

I hummed in response, but honestly didn't pay that much attention to his words as he seemed to leave with the same amount of interest in me as I currently had in his morning rush. I was looking forward to getting some sleep, now that my bitchy hormones had gotten a fill that would hopefully last till somewhere in the afternoon.

But you honestly never knew.

Hearing the door close, I closed my eyes as well and shifted a little to find a comfortable position, but instead got reminded of last night as an internal soreness made me moan silently.
