Chapter 255 - Student Gathering
Tang Hao immediately went home after leaving Great River Plaza.
The contract signing went smoothly, and Ling Wei did not require any further help from him.
He had already given his ultimatum to the Westerners. He would not grant them any mercy if they did not listen to him.
He arrived at the entrance to his residential area about twenty minutes later.
Suddenly, his car shook violently.
Tang Hao was shocked. He immediately got down and inspected his car. All four tires were badly worn. The rim of one of the front tires was misshapen.
“Looks like I’ll have to change them!” He mumbled.
The car was just a normal Audi and not made out of some exotic material. It could not withstand such abuse.
Last time, he sped the car from Provincial City to Mao Mountain in Province J. Earlier, he had sped madly toward Great River Plaza. It was already a feat that the tires lasted that long.
He drove the car slowly to a workshop.
He left the car there for repairs and went home.
He received a call from Ling Wei just as he stepped into his apartment.
“Where are you?”
“I went home! How are things? Were there any more problems?” Tang Hao said.
“Everything went fine. We managed to sign the contract!” Ling Wei’s tone of voice was celebratory. “It’s all thanks to you. We wouldn’t have managed to sign the contract otherwise.”
“Don’t mention it!”
“We’ll be holding a party at noon. You should come too!”
“Well… there’s no need to!” Tang Hao hesitated for a while and eventually declined the invitation. He was not from Tai An Group, and he did not think it was appropriate for him to be there. Furthermore, he had to attend classes at the university that afternoon.
Ling Wei was disappointed. “Well… I’ll treat you to lunch another day then!”
After the call ended, Tang Hao gathered his textbooks and went to Z University.
There were only three periods of Teacher Jiang’s classes that afternoon.
The classroom immediately boiled over with excitement when Tang Hao arrived.
“You’re finally back in class, Tang Hao!”
“You’re here, Brother Hao!”
All the classmates, no matter male or female, were excited when they saw Tang Hao. The boys crowded around Tang Hao after he sat down.
“You’ve been absent for more than a week, Brother Hao. Where were you?”
“Idiot! Brother Hao is a big boss. Of course he’s busy with work! Do you think he’s on the same level as us?”
Cao Fei bounded over. “Are you free tonight, Brother Hao?”
Tang Hao was surprised. “What’s up?” He asked.
“It’s like this, Brother Hao. There’s a party at Blue Sky Hotel tonight. Actually, all the attendees are all First High alumni from our year.
“It’s more like a gathering. We’re just gathering over some alcohol and gossip so that we can further our friendship with each other!”
Tang Hao furrowed his brows. “There’s no meaning to that!”
He did not think that there was a point to such student gatherings. Furthermore, he did not know many students from his year, and he did not have a good relationship with those classmates.
It would be trouble if he met those people there.
“Eh, Brother Hao, you should go!” Cao Fei tried to persuade him.
“Why are you so enthusiastic?” Tang Hao was a little taken aback.
“It’s all because of Beauty Queen Liu. The gathering is hosted by one of my classmates. His brother owns Blue Sky Hotel.
“He knows that Beauty Queen Liu is currently attending Z University, and he’s asking me to invite her. I don’t think Beauty Queen Liu will accept my invitation though! You’ll have to help me, Brother Hao!”
Tang Hao raised an eyebrow. “That classmate of yours is pretty loaded!”
“Isn’t that so! He’s quite famous for being rich. His name is Li Zhengtao, you should have heard of him before. His dad is a famous businessman in Westridge District!”
“Li Zhengtao?” Tang Hao mumbled and displayed a curious expression.
Indeed, he had heard of that name before.
“Alright, I’ll go then! However, I can’t promise that I’ll be able to invite Liu Bingyao,” Tang Hao said.
Cao Fei instantly looked ecstatic. “Hey! Everyone knows that Brother Hao can do anything! Beauty Queen Liu is very close to you. She will surely come.”
Soon after that, the bell rang, signifying the start of the period.
A beautiful figure stepped into the classroom. It was Teacher Jiang.
Jiang Wanying was stunned when she saw Tang Hao, who was surrounded by a group of boys.
However, her expression returned to normal, and classes soon started.
At the end of the three periods, the students got up from their seats and prepared to leave.
Suddenly, Jiang Wanying turned to address Tang Hao. “Tang Hao! Can you stay back for a bit? I have something to ask you.”
The students were surprised, though they immediately understood. Tang Hao was absent for more than a week. It was normal for the teacher to be concerned.
“I’ll wait for your good news, Brother Hao!” Cao Fei waved to Tang Hao, then left the classroom.
Very soon, only Tang Hao and Jiang Wanying were left in the classroom.
“Is there anything, Teacher Jiang?” Tang Hao asked as he walked to the front of the classroom.
“Did the police look for you again?” Jiang Wanying lowered her voice.
Tang Hao smiled. “Don’t worry, Teacher Jiang. The police aren’t suspecting me. Everything’s fine now!”
“Really?” Jiang Wanying was not ready to believe him yet.
She was still apprehensive, and she carried a worried expression on her face.
“You don’t have to worry about me, Teacher Jiang. The police won’t be able to find any evidence. The case has gone cold now, and they won’t look for me again.”
Jiang Wanying breathed a sigh of relief and her expression returned to normal.
“That’s good to hear. I was worried that something happened to you!”
Tang Hao said goodbye to Teacher Jiang, then left the classroom. He took out his phone and dialed Liu Bingyao’s number.
“Hey! Are you already back, Tang Hao?” Liu Bingyao sounded excited over the phone.
“Yup!” Tang Hao replied.
“Is there anything?”
“I just wanted to ask if you’re free tonight. Cao Fei is asking me to attend some high school gathering. Do you want to go together?” Tang Hao asked after hesitating for a while.
“Hmm, I think Cao Fei asked me about that, but I rejected his invitation. Since you’re asking me to go, then I will have to go no matter what,” Liu Bingyao said happily. She even sounded eager.
“Alright, it’s settled then. I’ll pick you up tonight.”
“OK!” Liu Bingyao replied.
In the evening, Tang Hao arrived at the female dormitory.
It happened to be dinnertime. Many boys were standing there, evidently waiting for their girlfriends.
One of the boys there attracted a lot of attention. He was tall and handsome, and he was dressed in an Armani suit. The black-framed glasses on his face made him look gentlemanly.
He held a bouquet in his hands, and he stood in front of a Mercedes Benz.
That figure was evidently a rich person.
Girls who passed by him occasionally stole glances.
Their gaze was eager. Some of them even looked infatuated.
“Wow, look at him, he’s Council President Fang!”
“Council President Fang is so handsome!”
Many girls shrieked excitedly.
