Chapter 286 - Joining the Agency
Director Bai and Taoist Master Qian Ji were incredibly excited when Tang Hao finally agreed to join them.
“We’re colleagues from now on, Fellow Cultivator Tang. Pleased to be at your service!” Taoist Master Qian Ji said as he shook hands eagerly with Tang Hao.
“Come, let’s go and celebrate this joyous event,” Director Bai clapped his hands and said happily.
Tang Hao got into the jeep and they left the police station.
The three people went to a restaurant and had a lavish meal.
Tang Hao had a better understanding of the mysterious agency after chatting with them for a while.
They left the restaurant at about ten o’clock at night. After saying goodbye to the two, Tang Hao returned to the nightclub to retrieve his car.
He had left his phone in the car. He noticed that there were many missed calls. Some were from Sis Xiangyi, some were from Liu Bingyao, and there was one from President Ling.
Tang Hao was a little taken aback when he saw that notification.
It had been more than a week since the incident with Beck Corporation. Why was President Ling looking for him?
He did not return the call immediately. Instead, he called Sis Xiangyi first.
Sis Xiangyi was not asleep yet. She was waiting for his call.
Tang Hao was apologetic. He briefly summarized the day’s events to her. Sis Xiangyi was shocked as Tang Hao relayed his story. She could not stop exclaiming loudly.
At the end of the story, Sis Xiangyi chuckled. “You seem to always get in trouble with the police, Lil Tang! I remember you toppled the Deputy Superintendent in Westridge back then. Now you’ve even stepped over the Superintendent of the City Headquarters.”
Tang Hao was embarrassed when he heard that.
“But they deserve it though, for bullying you!” Sis Xiangyi laughed.
The couple chatted for a while more and eventually said goodnight.
Then, he returned Liu Bingyao’s call.
Finally, he dialed President Ling’s number.
Some time passed before the call was picked up.
“Hello, President Ling! I was busy earlier and didn’t pick up your call. Is there anything?” Tang Hao asked.
“Did you forget that I said that I wanted to treat you to dinner?” Ling Wei’s pleasant voice was heard over the phone.
“Oh!” Tang Hao replied. He did not forget it, it was just that he thought that President Ling had forgotten about it.
“Are you free tomorrow? I’ve already made a reservation tomorrow night. I’ll pick you up. This is the most famous restaurant in all of Provincial City. The waiting list is a month long. It’s a coincidence that my reservation is for tomorrow.”
Tang Hao was surprised. The restaurant must have been incredibly famous for the waiting list to be a month long. He needed to try it.
He immediately agreed to the invitation.
He went to attend classes at the university the next day.
It was about five o’clock in the evening when his classes were over. He left the university gates with Cao Fei and the rest.
“You’re really not coming to dinner with us, Brother Hao?” Cao Fei tried convincing him one more time.
“I can’t. I have something going on at night,” Tang Hao said while shaking his head.
Just then, they saw an eye-catching sports car appear from the other end of the road. The students exclaimed in surprise when they saw the car.
The sports car stopped at the university entrance. The driver was a trendy and beautiful woman.
Everyone there exclaimed loudly.
“Wow, Brother Hao, look at her! She’s rich and beautiful!” Cao Fei and the other boys were incredibly excited when they saw the woman.
“That’s a Lamborghini. It’s worth about seven million yuan!” Someone exclaimed.
“Ahem!” Tang Hao was feeling embarrassed that President Ling was picking him up in such an expensive sports car.
