We arrived at the bar without talking after I asked. This bar is different because it is bigger and full of security.
It’s fancy based on the structure and furniture inside. The DJ is centered in the middle of the bar.
The speakers here are huge, there are lots of dancing lights.
Unlike the bar where I work, the party here is wilder because even at the tables you can see girls dancing. They don’t look like strippers or anything.
The bar I work at is also small and they have more security or bouncers as they call it. This bar even has a third floor, maybe it’s only for VIPs.
I just followed Wilder. You’d think there would be an elevator. We entered there. He pressed the third floor. This building is up to the fifth floor, guess what, it’s big for a bar.
The one on the third floor is the same as the one below. The only difference is that it is exclusive. That’s right, I’m just a VIP. Wilder didn’t need to show any card because the security immediately greeted him.
I thought it was dinner. Why did we go to the bar? There is food here but it’s only chips or nuts for sure.
I scanned the whole place and my question was answered.
There is a restaurant at the top for lunch and dinner. Wilder turned to me. “Hungry? Let’s go.”
Wilder ordered steak and salad for both of us. I have to admit that I just ate it today and it was really good. But I don’t really want there to be blood like Wilder’s. Mine is well done.
After we ate, we stayed there for a while but later we moved to the counter where there are baristas.
I remembered that I should be working now. “I’ll have a hard drink and just give her a martini.” Wilder said. The barista nodded. Someone called Kay Wilder somewhere. “Stay here. I’ll be back in a minute.”
“Uhmm.. can you change my martini to Vanilla Bean Frappuccino with a shot of Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey? I mean if there’s any here?” I asked.
The barista raised an eyebrow. “Yes, we have that.” I smiled. “That’s mine.” I said.
You can find the vanilla bean frappuccino at Starbucks, but you can find the cinnamon whiskey here at the bar, like at our bar. That’s what we do. I prefer the non taste because it’s also refreshing, there’s nothing wrong with it.
I checked my phone. No text. No miscall.
After I looked at that, the barista handed over my order. I sip a little. Hmm.. that’s right when I made it.. it’s even tastier.
“Hey..” Wilder said.
“What’s that? Your done with martini?” I shook my head. “I made a different order. Vanilla Bean Frappuccino with a shot of Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey.” It nodded as I say. “You really know drinks huh.” I smiled at him. “Barista.”
I remembered the last time I went to a bar when he pulled me out, now it was different because no one looked at me much. Maybe because my clothes fit the place. Not like before.
“Would you like to dance?” Wilder turned to me.
“Uh.. I-I don’t know.” I’m embarrassed to ask.
“Come on.. you look good.. don’t worry I won’t leave you.” He said.
I don’t know why Wilder treats me differently now but I like his cool attitude more. Kind anyway.
We walked through the crowd. Many congratulate Wilder.. mostly women. But he didn’t pay much attention.
I’m not used to such things. The only thing I know is to mix wines at the counter. I always look at people dancing. It never occurred to me that one day I would be one of them.
“Another one please.” I promised the barista. I sat down in the stool. I’m a little tired from standing up and dancing onti, so maybe I’ll be here first.
He smiled, then handed over the vodka. He seems to know that I will order more. I’ve been coming back here for a while to drink alcohol, so maybe that’s why.
I looked at my phone. It’s 10pm already. If so, we’ve been here for a long time at the bar. I drank too much when I stayed here.
I looked at the people dancing in the middle. Hoping that I could see Wilder there. I saw him dancing, he has grooves. It also dances well somehow. My eyes shifted at the girls who were staring at him.
One of the women whispered to the one next to her.. they giggled as if they were thrilled. Until the woman stood up and whispered and walked towards the dancers. It looks like he didn’t come there to dance but to flirt. She taps Wilder’s shoulder.. he looks at her and smiles and she does the same. Snaking her arms around Wilder’s neck and dancing seductively.
Wilder smiled at the woman but his eyes seemed to be looking for something, when he didn’t see it he looked back at the woman.
I just watched them grind at each other.
Should I go home? It looks like he’s having fun already. And I think it will not stop in just grinding.
Hm.. it doesn’t matter that he paid for it so let him take care of it, I’ll have fun too.. I’ll only experience this once so I’ll get over it, I’m sure if it doesn’t happen again. Tomorrow, I’m sure I’ll go back to my nerd life.
I order alcohol again but this time I go for hard.
The smell seems to be strong, it is bold and a bit painful to the nose. I did that quickly.
I look again at the crowd assuming that Wilder and the girl are making out. To my surprise the girl is now back at her stool.. Her face is slightly red and her eyebrows are knitted.. while Wilder is walking towards me.
Do you ever feel like a misfit?
Everything inside you is dark and twisted
Oh but it’s okay to be different
‘Cause baby, so am…
The song came right when he was about to open his mouth. I know this song!
Can you hear the whispers all across the room?
You feel her eyes all over you like cheap perfume
I feel a bit dizzy when I stand up from my seat, maybe because of the hard alcohol. I decided to go on the dancing crowd.. leaving Wilder without even talking to him
You’re beautiful, but misunderstood
So why you tryna be just like the neighborhood?
Even though it was a bit crowded, I forced myself to go to the front to be closer to the DJ.
I can see it, I know what you’re feelin’
The song is so loud but it doesn’t make my ears hurt.
“So let me tell you ‘bout my little secret!” I sing along.
“I’m a little crazy underneath this
Underneath this”
Almost everyone here is also singing along to the song. Maybe it’s new and many people know.
Do you ever feel like a misfit?
I sway my hips from right to left when the chorus starts.
Everything inside you is dark and twisted
Oh but it’s okay to be different
‘Cause baby, so am I ….
I put my hands in the air and dance with the crowd as the loud thumping noise.. because of everyone jumping. I feel so comfortable dancing with these clothes. I felt my hair going everywhere on my body so I ran my hands through it while I closed my eyes as the song continued.
Do you ever feel like an outcast?
You don’t have to fit into the format
Oh but it’s okay to be different
‘Cause baby, so am I…
This song is very relatable for me. I don’t always fit into groups. It’s because of the way I dress.. it’s old fashioned and girls at my age don’t like it.. short skirts, shorts and crop tops and every clothes that shows more skin is the trend now.
Oh so, dressed so fancy like Sid and Nancy
Walking Killer Queen, gotta keep ‘em guessin’
They call me needy because I look like one. The reason why no guys every try to say or lay their eyes on me.
So baby come pass me a lighter
We’re gonna leave ‘em on fire, we’re the sinners and the blessings
But now I feel like I’m on a different body and skin because of this new style and clothes that I wear which is different than what I used to.
I can see it, I know what you’re feelin’
So let me tell you ‘bout my little secret
I’m a little crazy underneath this
Underneath this, ohhh ohh-oh
I bang my head with the music and start jumping like the other people here.
Do you ever feel like a misfit?
Everything inside you is dark and twisted
I sway my hair. My hands has its own mind, it travels starting from my head through my chest and waist while dancing.
Oh but it’s okay to be different
‘Cause baby, so am I….
Do you ever feel like an outcast.
You don’t have to fit into the format
Oh but it’s okay to be different
‘Cause baby, so am I….
I felt a warmth on my waist. I’m too tipsy to even mind that person holding my waist so what I did is dance while it’s theirs.
You’re king and you’re queen
You’re strong and you’re weak, you’re bound but so free
So come and join me
And call me Harley and we’ll make a scene
A guy towered over me and smiled sexily while trying to grind in front of me, before I could even flirt with him I was grabbed to turn around to the guy who’s holding my waist.
Do you ever feel like a misfit?
It’s Wilder.
Everything inside you is dark and twisted
I was surprised to see that he was holding my waist.
Oh but it’s okay to be different
He pulled my waist closer to his chest. Leaving a one inch distance between us. I’ve never been this close to him since the day he kissed me.
‘Cause baby, so am I….
He suddenly brushed his lips against mine. His hot breath has a mint scent that is entering my nostrils.
Do you ever feel like an outcast?
I looked deeply into his eyes. I can feel that certain connection just by looking at it.
You don’t have to fit into the format
I seem to be drowning in its gaze. It makes the knees weak. Add whatever is in my stomach.
He closed the distance between us and touched my lips with his.
Oh but it’s okay to be different
‘Cause baby, so am I….
