Chapter 14: Be my wife
"Would you like to come to Batangas for vacation?" Edward inquired about his daughter.
"Wow, vacation? Yes, daddy, I want it!" Akia exclaimed, squealing with delight.
"Is that all right, Mommy?"
Cassandra then approached Akia. "But, you must behave, okay?"
"Yes, mommy," Akia replied cheerfully.
"Ahm mommy, are we going to live with daddy from now on?" Akia innocently inquired. Edward could see how difficult it was for Cassandra to explain. Her heart went out to her because she was upset. "Of course, sweetheart, we're going to live with your daddy," Cassandra said, feeling sorry for her. She doesn't want to live with Edward, but she does want her daughter Akia to be happy.
"You're right, we'll be living together after that, and you'll be spending a lot of time with me," Edward said.
Akia then scrunches her face up, tilts her head, and looks at Edward. "Are you going to marry my mother, Daddy?"
Cassandra coughed as she heard something she didn't expect from her.
"A-akia, you need to take a shower right now, let's go," Cassandra said, changing the topic.
"Of course, sweetheart. I'm going to marry mommy, and we'll be a happy family, is that what you want?" Edward inquired.
"Yes, daddy!" Akia exclaimed happily as she hugged her mother. "Let's go, mommy; I need to take a shower."
Cassandra then carries Akia while looking at Edward, puzzled by what he said to their daughter. But Edward just shrugged her shoulder and sipped her coffee.
Edward then gets to his feet. "I have a meeting to attend later. We'll leave tomorrow, as of now go buy whatever you want, "He pulls his wallet from his pocket and hands, Cassandra, his credit card.
"What is this for? Didn't I tell you that---" she wonders as Edward cut her off.
"Just do what I say, go shopping while I'm gone. You'll both need clothes and boots for the ranch in Batangas. Get whatever you need and some new sleepwear, maybe something silky and sexy," Edward said, winking at her.
She rolled her eyes and moved her gaze away, speaking just loud enough for him to hear. "As if you're going to see me in it."
He kisses Akia goodbye after dressing.

That night, Akia showed Edward her haul, which included denim, blouses, boots, and a small cowgirl hat. "How about Mommy, what did she get?"
"Oh, she just got boots and some nice sleepwear to wear to bed, daddy; want to see them?" Akia inquired innocently.
Cassandra's face turned bright red. "No, baby," she said as she rolled her eyes at him. "Daddy doesn't need to see them, sweetheart," Edward laughed a bit.
He then gave her a friendly smile. "I'm glad you took my advice; when will I be able to see them on you?"
"You can erase that grin off your face, they aren't what you advised me to get, just nightgowns, a dressing gown, and a hygiene kit, which I needed."
"Is that all you've got?" he inquired.
"Yes, as well as footwear."
"All right, so would you mind if I took Akia out for cotton candy and ice cream? I'd like to get to know her."
Cassandra looked over at Akia, who was excitedly jumping up and down. "How could I say no now, when my daughter is so excited?" she thought to herself.
"All right, just don't be late, and don't let her eat too much."
"Of course, there's no need to be concerned. I'll take good care of our daughter," Edward said before they left.
~
When they came back, it just seemed as if they had been gone for hours. "Where were you, I was worried," she said as she lifted Akia and noticed the shopping bags Edward had brought in.
"Mommy, we went shopping, and daddy bought you clothing and shoes."
Cassandra then turned quickly to Edward, her eyes filled with rage. Putting Akia down, I told her to go play in her room.
When Akia left, Edward knew he'd get an earful.
"You don't need to do that to me, return them now!" she yelled.
"I can't since I already threw away the receipts," he chuckled.
"You know what? you don't need to spoil me, I don't need you to buy me garments, or are you doing this because you need something from me!" She was shaking with anger.
Edward combed his hair with his hand. "You wouldn't shop anything, so I did it for you; don't be so oversensitive and paranoid; just endorse them and say thank you," he said as he walked past her into the kitchen and grabbed a liquor.
She dragged the bags into her bedroom, going through what he'd bought and curious to know how he knew what size to get. Trousers, trunks, dresses, and even matching corsets and underwear were available. She had to admit that the clothes were very nice, especially the two skirts.
~
She finally sincerely thanks Edward for the clothes during dinner.
Cassandra later decided to take a long warm bath after Akia had given her a half bath.
bath.
"Do you mind watching Akia while I take a bath?" she inquired of Edward.
When he looked at Cassandra, he could see how tired she was, with dark circles under her eyes. "It would be my pleasure; will I get to see you in one of those new nighties?"
"Only if you could see through a robe," she gruffly replied.
"Take as much time as you want, I can sing her a lullaby," he chuckled.
"No, I'll do it, and I'll finish before she goes to bed."
As she walked out, she turned to face Edward and Akia, who were cuddling on the sofa. She was envious. Cassandra had been Akia's caregiver for the entirety of her brief life. She had been the only one she felt close to.
But she was drawn to Edward right away. They'd bonded so quickly. Cassie felt as if she were losing her child.
She closed her eyes and drifted off while soaking in the tub. She'd been soaking for more than an hour when she heard a loud knock on the door, waking her up. She had no idea how long she'd been sleeping, so she got up, dried off, and put on her nightdress and robe. She then opened the door slowly.
"F*ck! why— never mined I thought something bad happened to you inside you've been inside for more than 3 hours and I started worrying about you," Edward sighed.
"Sorry, I fell asleep," she apologized as she averted her gaze when their gazes met and she discovered Akia already asleep in their bed. "You already put her to bed; why didn't you wait for me? She's my daughter."
Edward then led her out of the room by her arm, not wanting to wake Akia. "Are you forgetting she's also my daughter?"
Her tears streamed down her cheeks in an instant. "I'm sorry; I'm not sure why I feel like you're stealing her from me."
"I'm not taking anything away from you, Cassandra; she's our daughter, and you'll be my wife soon," Edward said, staring at her.
"N-no, we only have a child, but marrying you? never," Cassandra replied.
"You're not going to be able to say no to me, Cassandra," Edward warned.
"Why? Are you going to use my daughter? Tell me honestly, Edward, you just want my body, right?" she scoffed.
"You just want a sex slave to satisfy your lust, but I'm sorry to tell you, Edward, I'm not one of your sluts," she said as she was about to leave him when Edward grabbed her arm and pinned her against the wall.
"Don't talk to me like that, Cassandra. I'm the father of your child, and whether you like it or not, you're going to marry me and learn to love me," Edward said, leaving her stunned.
"You're selfish, and you only think about yourself; I'm not going to let that happen, Edward; remember that."
