Chapter 39: I do
"How was your conversation with our client, Edward?" his mother asked over the phone.
He then sat, slumped in his chair, and replied, "It was fine. They all agreed to our business proposal. Mom, how are Cassandra and Akia? I already miss them. "
"I'm not in the mansion; I'm with your Aunt; we're on vacation right now; I asked Cassandra to accompany me with Akia, but she refused because she wanted to wait for you; I know they miss you as well," his mother explained.
"It appears you can't stay away from them for long. It's only three days anyway. I finally believe my son is madly in love. Do you want to go home now?"
"Oh, God helps me; yes, I want to go home, Mom; please, appoint Xavier as my representative; I can't get her out of my head," he grumbled as Mrs. Consuelo laughed.
"Mom, stop laughing."
"I'm sorry, my dear son; I just remember the days when you were a stupid fool about how you approached her; no wonder she wanted to leave you at that time; the poor thing thought you only wanted her in your bed; you should thank me for helping you, my son."
"I know and I appreciate your help, mom," he added.
"Hahaha, you're welcome, my dear son, because I know from the first look that girl gives you that there is no doubt in my mind that she is madly in love with you; now, get on a plane and go to her; I'll appoint Xavier for this project," his mother said over the phone.
"Really? oh my God, thanks, mom. You're the best," Edward said as he stood up.
"Good, now go," she said, rolling her eyes and wondering how a man as intelligent as Edward could be so clueless about women.
As he rushes out the door, he makes a phone call, pledging that he would hire a plane and be back in the Philippines before Cassandra went to bed.
~
Cassandra went up to bed after looking at the clock and seeing that it was almost midnight when she heard a bang at the front door halfway up the stairs, followed by his voice.
"Cassandra, let me in," Edward yelled through the closed door, his fists clenched.
They pounded on the door incessantly.
As she rushed down the stairs, flinging open the door, she thought her heart was going to burst. "Edward, what are you doing here? Aren't you on a business trip?" she asks, perplexed.
He took her face in his hands. "I'm here to support you and Akia."
"How about your business trip?"
"Don't worry, sweetie. Xavier will be my proxy. I miss you so much, my love," he said as he kicked the door shut and grabbed her, pinning her hands down so she couldn't push him away. He kissed her long and passionately, leaning down. He made her moan by moving his hand over her body. He moves his mouth away from hers and asks in a breathless whisper.
"I miss you, too, love," she said as her lips reached for his.
He picked her up and went upstairs to the bedroom, ripping off his tie and jacket.
He climbed on top of her, his lips resting on her neck as she undid his pants. When she felt his hand go under her silk nightgown, her breasts heaved and her heart pounded. When he got up and off the bed, she moaned in protest, watching him as he undressed the rest of his clothes.
He lifted Cassandra onto her knees and removed her nightgown, then drew her close and kissed her, his kiss deepening as he laid her down. They savored the taste of naked flesh on their mouth as they greedily explored each other's bodies.
"I want you right now," Edward declared his body on fire.
"Then take me," she grumbled. He slammed into her with such force that she gasped. He was moving around inside her like crazy. His thrusts became harder and more flavorful.
She squirmed and moaned beneath him, rocking her head from side to side. She yearned for more, but she couldn't get enough of him. "Take me, take me now," she yelled.
As they rolled around in bed, pulling her on top, then back under him, sweat poured off them. Later, they collapsed in each other's arms after peaking together.
They slept until Edward felt his chest rubbed. He opened his eyes to see her smiling down at him. "Good morning, sweetie," he said as he kissed her on the cheek.
"Morning, too, love," she replied to his kiss. "Let's get up now. Akia will be waking up soon, and I need to start preparing her breakfast."
"You're my dream wife," he said with a smile.
She smiled as she climbed on top of Edward. "Because I'm the woman who was meant to be with you."
He felt like the luckiest man alive when he took her back. "Marry me, Cassandra, and let us build a happy family with Akia."
"You've already proposed to me, but my answer will never change: yes, I do, and I will marry you," she said as she wrapped her arms around him. "I love you, Edward," she quietly said.
"I love you even more," he says as Cassandra runs her hand across his chest. "I had a fantastic time with you."
"Me, too, sweetie," he confessed. While waiting for Akia to wake up, they went downstairs and began eating breakfast. When they heard a tiny voice scream, they were deeply in love.
"Daddy, daddy, you're here," she exclaimed as she dashed into his arms.
"Yes, honey, and we'll never be apart again because Mommy and I are getting married next month."
"Really?" she exclaimed as Edward nodded.
"Yes, but first you and I need to run a couple of errands while many packs, so eat up."
He embraces Cassandra and kisses her. "We won't be here for long."
"What are you doing?" she inquires.
"Wow, that's unexpected," Edward said.
~
Edward and Akia returned three hours later. "Mommy, look what I got," Akia says, "his name is Yucky, can I keep him, please mommy?" "She pleaded.
"You got her a bunny?" Cassandra asks Edward.
He shrugged his shoulders without saying anything, so she went over to pet the bunny. "Yes honey, you can keep him," she said, looking into Akia's eyes and seeing how happy she was.
"Thank you, mommy; daddy has something for you as well."
"Honey, that was supposed to be a surprise," Edward said, smiling.
"I'm sorry, daddy," she said, her lips quivering.
"That's fine; I might as well give it to mommy now." He turns to Cassandra. "I should have done this properly in the first place." He gets down on one knee and opens a small box from his pocket. "I noticed you don't have the ring anymore, and I know you threw it away the last time we argued, so I bought a new ring for you. Cassandra Ogatcho, will you marry me?"
Cassandra's hand flew to her mouth as she gazed at the stunning diamond ring, and tears flowed. "Oh, Edward, it's lovely; yes, I'll marry you."
He stands up and places the ring on her finger, then picks her up and swings her around, finally giving her a passionate kiss.
