Chapter 41: Anthony's heartbreak
Cassandra was tired, so she sat down on an empty stool. While Edward was busy talking to their business partner, she observed everyone having fun and congratulated them on their good news.
"Oh, f*ck girl, you've just arrived; I miss you," Ava hugged her.
"I miss you as well; how's your love life?" Cassandra inquires of her best friend. She misses her terribly, especially since they haven't communicated in nearly a month.
"Well, I'm getting married as well," Ava said cheerfully as she displayed his ring.
"Oh my gosh! really? congratulations, honey. I'm happy for you," Cassandra exclaimed.
"Thank you, Sandra, and I'm happy for you as well," Ava said.
"Wait, I'm going to use your bathroom first hahaha I eat too much," Ava said, laughing as she farted unexpectedly.
Cassandra is now sitting alone on the stool. She gulped her saliva, desperate for water or juice. So she gets juice because she can't drink alcohol.
She suddenly heard a seat sliding beside her and a presence very close to her, but she didn't bother to look at the person, instead staring at the beautiful glass she was playing with.
"Hello, Cassandra. We meet again." Her head jerked towards the voice, only to be met by the same enticing brown eyes. It was Anthony.
~
Anthony did nothing but observe her intently. He sat beside her on the stool, wearing tight black ripped jeans and a dressed black shirt. His sleeves were rolled up, revealing a snake tattoo on one of his bulky arms. His entire hand was covered in tattoos.
He was holding a bottle of beer in one of his tattoed hands, the other on the bar counter in front of them. The shirt was yanked inside the jeans, exposing his bulky shoulders and muscles.
He frowned slightly as he observed her clenching her fists. He didn't notice the vibration her hands made. What's the matter with her? She appeared to be terrified. And it was all because of him. She was fine until he decided to sit beside her.
They sat beside each other for a while before Anthony decided to break the silence.
"By the way, congratulations on your wedding and pregnancy; Edward was so lucky. Anyway, where is your husband?" He spat, making her flinch visibly as he said the word husband venomously.
"F*ck, he's giving me goosebumps; he's not like this the last time we talked," she thought to herself.
"He shouldn't have left you all alone; you're his wife now. He should be aware that there are so many guys out there who want his wife," Anthony said, his hard expression softening as Cassandra turned to face him.
"Oh, it's okay, and I'm in our house; our guests are all my friends, and my husband is just there talking to his business partner," she said, faking a smile.
Their gazes locked once more, sending an electric current through both of their bodies. Cassandra broke eye contact and stood up from the stool in less than a second. "If Edward saw me with this jerk, I swear he'll freak out again," she thought to herself. Without saying anything to him, she tried to walk away quickly. She didn't want to face his husband's jealousy. Anthony, on the other hand, had other plans.
Before she could flee from him. His large hand encircled her. Her wrist made her gasp slightly. In shock, her head snapped towards him.
'What's the matter with you, huh? Why are you behaving this way toward me? "Can I love you like your husband loves you, Cassandra?" Anthony asked, causing her to shake her head.
"P-Please let me go, this is our special day, don't ruin it. I'm not sure why you're acting this way, but I don't want to ruin this event, my husband did his best to make this party," she sid as she twisted her wrist, but Anthony turned his stool away from the table, completely facing her.
She yelped as she felt herself being dragged forward by a strong tug. Her body collided with his sitting one. She had to grab his shoulders to keep her from falling.
She made a slight tilt of her head to meet his gaze. He was almost there. It's too close. It brought back memories of the time they met at the party.
When she realized where they were, her small bubble of imagination burst. Her head moved around, trying to see if her husband was looking at them.
She pushed his shoulders away from him, but he wrapped his free arm around her waist and tugged her forward. Their chests became pressed together.
"Stop it right now, Anthony!" she yelled.
Anthony leaned his back against the stool's head, a small smirk on his lips. He chugged his beer, still unable to free her struggling figure from his grip.
"P-Please let me go, or do you want me to call my husband and have him kick your ass out of here!" she screamed, mentally cursing him.
"What are you doing to my wife?" an enraged voice demanded as Cassandra looked up to see her husband staring at Anthony.
"Ohh, sorry, I just wanted to congratulate your wife," Anthony said with a smirk. Cassandra then dashed alongside Edward.
"What's wrong, sweetie? Did he hurt you? tell me," Edward asks, concerned, but Cassandra doesn't want to get into this, so she gives him a fake smile and says, " "N-no, everything is fine, Anthony," she said, clutching Edward's hand tightly.
As her beautiful, bewitching eyes played with the stings of his heart, Anthony felt as if his heart was breaking apart. Anthony was madly in love with Cassandra.
He couldn't help but feel a great deal of sorrow for his broken heart. "Sh*t, it's killing me inside just looking at them so sweet," Anthony thought to himself.
"Anyway thanks for inviting me. I need to go now. Again, congratulations for the both of you," Anthony said as he leave the party with a broken heart.
He knew it wasn't the right time, at least not right now. Anthony drank the entire beer bottle before getting into his car, closing his eyes as a burning sensation ripped through his veins. It wasn't because of the alcohol he had just consumed. It was the emotion that infiltrated his heart.
He just sighed and ordered another drink before staring at the spot where she had vanished.

Cassandra got out of the shower and turned off the water; she had been in the shower for about an hour and a half.
She felt cleaner than she had ever felt before, as well as more comfortable and pleased with the shower she had just had.
She took a towel from the rock and wrapped it around herself. She returned to the bedroom and looked over at the bed; Edward had just awoken and was staring at her dreamily.
"How was your night, Mrs. Consuelo?" he inquired. "Ah, with you on top almost the entire night, it was great!" she responded.
"So, what's on the schedule for today?" he inquired of Cassandra, "ohm, let's see!" she replied as she walked over to her handbag, which was stored in the closet on top of the suitcase. She took a notebook from her handbag and flipped through it patiently, looking for the specific page on which she had a list of things ticked off on a calendar.
"Oh, we're supposed to go to the spa today!" she exclaimed. "Spa! oh great, a massage for both of us will do us good and it's good for your pregnancy too, your doctor says it can be a good way to relieve stress and alleviate some of the normal discomforts of your pregnancy," he replied.
She then gave him a nod. He rose from the large bed and walked over to Cassandra, who was now standing on the balcony, looking over at the beautiful Eiffel Tower. He wrapped his arms around her and kissed her on the temple.
"I'm glad to be your husband; you made me the happiest man alive the day you said 'yes, I will marry you,'" he mumbled in her ears.
Cassandra smiled and returned her gaze to the Eiffel Tower.
