CHAPTER 58

|| Savannah's POV ||

I crinkled my nose in disgust, staring stupifying at the girl who wanted to devour my man with eyes. Well, I admit that he was handsome but darn, I was standing right next to him. Ares held a hand around my waist, silently telling her to dismiss any lure thoughts. That made me smile since he was so persistent to prove to me that he was changing for me.

The attendant girl quickly saw our move and cleared her throat before apologizing,

" Sorry...I was just too excited...How may I help you two?"

Sinking back into my serious mood, I smiled at her before leaning down to offer,

" Do you guys leak personal video footage to outside?"

The girl widened her eyes before shaking her head repeatedly like a rattle,

" Of course not, Mam. We are obliged to ensure your confidentiality."

Rage was blinding me slowly. If I couldn't find the real truth, I had to find who the hell had done something so cruel to Ares. Perhaps, it could lessen his punishment a bit. We could claim that someone had framed Ares to tarnish his reputation.

I slammed in fury on the table, startling the girl who was maintaining a smile. Gnashing my teeth together, I rumbled my words out,

" A CCTV footage of one of your rooms is flooding the internet. Yet, you are telling me that you have no idea. Tell me, who did it?"

The girl's face turned out to be horror as she bit down her lips nervously. I could tell that she had no idea, something like that happened. Inhaling a deep breath, she pursued her lips to rebuke me sharply,

" I think, you are mistaken, Mam. We don't provide any personal information to outsiders. Besides, I am not obliged to answer you."

She made a face full of determination to not tell me and waited for my turn. I wondered, how everything felt so manageable here as if someone had warned her about interrogation already.

Awestruck by her sudden change of voice, I was flabbergasted for a couple of seconds before Ares burst his anger out over the woman,

" Excuse me, I solemnly believe that you are just covering yourself. Fuck, don't use that tongue with my girlfriend."

I squeezed his hand, assuring him that I was mentally prepared. The attendant didn't look falter by our presence but rather snorted with a bitter tone,

" What can you do to me? You are just a banned player."

Ares lost his coolness and almost punched the female attendance but luckily, I was quick to grab his hand, glaring into his infuriated eyes harshly,

" Ares! No! We still have to find the truth!"

The female attendance stood slightly surprised, then backed away one step to avoid his punch which didn't fall on her face. Understanding too well that she wasn't willing to help us, I left with my last words, dragging Ares outside,

" Thanks for your time but you are involved in this mess, I will make sure that you live a very pathetic life."

When I dragged Ares outside, the evening time had passed already. Darkness was lurking around the area with spring weather. Ares snorted, pacing around the car angrily,

" You should have just let me punch that slut, Princess. She disrespected you!"

My heartfelt sweet and sour at the same time, knowing that her insult for him didn't matter to him. Instead, he was mad that the attendance had insulted me on purpose. Pressing my butt against the car door, I explained reasonably,

" Ares, I can't let you indulge in violence again. We are messed up already. Raising your hand on her wouldn't have fixed anything."

His shoulders relaxed and after a while, he whispered, apologizing in a guilty voice,

" You shouldn't have left your parents for me, Princess. I have screwed up!"

I gave him a glare that brought tears to my eyes. I could feel now how much he would have affected himself if I wasn't by his side. Besides, I was well aware of his temper. Ares was sober only when I was cajoling him in front. I noticed the change in his behavior whenever I was around.

Smiling, I pulled down his head to kiss his cheeks and whispered calmly,

" You are my home, Ares. I don't want anything else other than you. Let's face it together all the storms and shiny days."

His gaze flashed with affection later my lips were rewarded with a long breathless kiss for telling the truth.

" But it's impossible without the attention of my department!", Kasper mumbled, sipping from his black coffee. When we got zero results from our visit, I had no choice but to look for Kasper who was my savior as always. Ares disliked the idea since he hated other men around him. Later, he had to stay shut under my glare.

Now, we were sitting in our tiny apartment, trying to figure out a harmless solution for the mess. The coffee turned cold in front of Ares who had zero attention to sip from it. I understood that he was worried and guilty at the same time since Catherine confirmed that it was them on that couch.

Then, who could clear his name now?

The maximum possibility was to figure out the culprit who leaked the footage on the internet. Later, an official apology from Ares had less impact on his rising career. I asked Kasper to offer his help which he would have done willingly. But we wanted everything secret and confidential which was too risky for his job.

Kasper was hesitant to make his final decision and fell into deep thoughts after listening to the entire incident. Much longer later when I was going to give up my hopes, he gave me his response,

" I have another way...I can get the CCTV footage for you!"

My eyes lit up in hope and excitement. Finally, we had something to keep our hopes up. I thanked Kasper and he nodded, secretly glaring at Ares,

" Just for you!"

I smiled big again gratefully and Ares just rolled his eyes. Kasper stayed for another few moments before I led him to the door. He halted midway to question me in a displeased tone,

" You know that it's him in the video, still you want to save him?"
